MSC, I'm gonna try and get some Crusade fluff together like you asked some time ago. Just to spruce up the thread is nothing else.

 

What fellow Tempar was making Crusade sheilds for those who asked?

If by shields you mean photoshop crusade badges, I'd be happy to oblige since Ive gotten workable with GIMP. If you mean shields for the models, sadly Im at a loss.

 

 

For the fluff, Ive got most Templar fluff compiled and a few 'extra' things I made myself using the information from GW publications. If you need some inspiration I'll be happy to post them here. (for example the link in my sig has the old versions of my project).

Ok, so I had a fun game the other night. No building, no terrain, nout. Just two armies, one field and a lot of dice. Squared off againt each other readying for the charge. Was somewhere between 1500-1700pts a side. I think he had more.

Ok, I suck at reporting battles so if its hard reading just enjoy the pics that I managed to take.

 

Turn 1 not much happened, he moved, shotwith his lootas, killed one of my Terminators. Oh, he also kept shooting at my Terminators througout the entire game untill hand to hand combat was met.

 

Turn2:

He sorta moved up, tried not tobe in charge range. Shot some more killing another Terminator and 1 crusader.

 

Me, cleared out the speed bump or grots with the bolter squad to allow me to attempt a charge at his boyz and on the other side had to use the cc crusaders to clear out the grots asap. I managed to get the charge off with the unit closest and CC was joined. Good round, killed 13 boys on that charge.

 

Turn3:

He charged my middle crusader squad with his boyz and then the same squad with standard nobz, so they took 2 charges. The unit that got to boyz killed few and weathered about 85 attacks plus the ones from the nobz to which I think only 4-6 marines died. killed two nobz and a handful of orks. His Big mek challanged my EC, to which my EC responded to and killed him outright.

 

The combat closest to the camera (in the turn two pic) whent badly, killed few orks but got cut down to two marines. Bad dice. I also charged his mega armour nobz and moved up the Durandel(thats right) dreadnought to engage his deff dread. We agreed to do a one on one combat between them.

By this point it was just big blobs of bodies, and where the batteris died on the camera. <_<

 

Turn4:

Now out of prime targets to shoot at he forgets my bolter unit down the field, I to kinda forget about them. CC round, blows are sent back and fourth and losses on both sides. His warboss challages my MOS, to which My MOS accepts(of course), hard fight one wound each. His nobz in CC with the EC's unit challenges the EC, again the EC cuts them down. He fails the charge at my Dreadnought.

 

I eventually won the Terminator vs mega armour fight, but with only 2 Hammernators left, the MOS took to many wounds in the personal fight with the warboss. The fight closest to the camera was lost, the far far crusader squad charged the boyz that charged the other crusader squad and wreaked destruction upon them. The left over nobz kept challanging my EC, they all fell to his blade. Charged the dreadnought and proceeded to bust that deffdread into a billion tiny bits, 3 hits, 2 pen, and two 6's on the damage table.

 

Turn 5: Seen off the last of the boys in the far combat. He shot, glanced the dreadnought to death, I started my advance to the cowardly lootas at the back.

 

Roll dice, game ended. By the end, it was a win for the Templars!

 

NO PITY!~NO REMORSE!~NO FEAR!

 

Was left with almost 25 men and 2 terminators.

 

Next time I'll try to make fullrecord and full pics. Also I'll try to tell it like you are reading a story. Again I sick at that so we'll see.

@Darth Potato, exactly what I was going for when I convinced my mate to play it. Notthat it took much. He just added up what he had with him in the way of foot troops and I went and matched(there abouts) in crusaders, terminators.

Fantastic looking models! I really like the battle-worn look you gave them. I'm not sure if you mentioned it already but what did you use for the more medieval looking banners?

The banners and ribbins(barring the Sm and BT ones) are a mix of WHF Empire and some Bretonnian bits.

I personally like the the Land Speeder with the Marine standing while manning the Heavy Bolter, he looks like he just can't stop firing his guns on that target.

I mean where did you get the legs for that?

Thanks very much Marshal_Roujakis, With the HB guy thats exactly what I was going for. Templars, even zealous with the guns gunner"KILL IT WITH BULLETS!!!! "PILOT" ITS DEAD ALREADY" gunner:I DONT CARE!! MOAR! ,, ahem.. lol

 

The legs are just tactical SM legs cut at the hip and knee. And painstakily put into place, as always I did it the hard way and made the LS first and no pinning included. Held together by glue, greenstuff and fear I will turn it into nothing but tiny atoms if it comes undone.

MOS, painted for the Choas challange.

 

Some remodeling and a pint job, a right arm change of position, and a head swap. Made this guy, some years ago now and used a chaos zerker head with the "rabbit ears"(thats what they are called right, or at least folks refer to them as that??) cut off. Never thought it looked quite right so popped it off and stuck in a bare head, that didnt quite fit the MOS feel, more of a marshal, so popped that off and stuck this one in. I'm happy with the final result.

The arm change demanded blood and a slight manly tear. Its not red paint. Damn knife went right in, pic was few moments after cleaning it for the 3rd time. Totally worth it, the model looks much better than the way it did.

My white, I'm sure I've covered it in this thread but no worries.

 

1. All is primed chaos black

2. Vallego white or off white mixed white 80-90% and 10-20% GW's commando khaki or blached bone. Depends on what shade of white I'm after.

3. Wash of commando khaki

4. If needed, a wash of vallego dark mud. Mostly around and in the rivets and recesses.
