Thanks for all the great feed back guys glad you like him.

I don't know want you guys think but from the back I think the flames looks a little awkward. Was hoping that from the front the flamer would look like a exhaust stack and when you viewed it from the back it revealed its self to be a flamer which I think it does this but I still think it looks a little tacked on.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this would be welcomed.

Jokaero, I'm pretty sure you would have won the conversion contest if you completed it on time. I love the dynamic pose and how the servo harness isn't clunky looking. The harness is definitely the hardest part of the techmarine to model and you did a splendid job.

Btw, did you use dead space as a reference for your plasma cutter? ;)

Yeah you caught me out with the dead space reference and also for the reason of using it ? I didn't want the harness to be clunky and try as I might I couldn't make a GW base plasma cutter small enough so I used the dead space reference instead hoping that most people would recognise it as a plasma cutter, I did add some GW plasma coils to keep it in universe. I think it works? Edited by jokaero weaponsmith

Geektom thanks for the compliment.

Each model varies in time but from a month to two. The techmarine would have been pretty much a month had the in laws not stayed for the most of the month, but Grotsmasha did give us plenty of warning so had planned out much of what I was going to do before hand not something I normally do.

No I haven't done any sculpting in this scale before I started this hobby but I think you can see the development of my sculpting skill in my postings.

Started on another Terminator Mark 1 because of another one of Greyalls epic images http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-steelus-wingus/page-82

And after a few requests Im trying to do a tutoral on how to make a Mark 1 Terminator armor model so this is both a work and turtoral WIP so if you can see any info misssing or any steps missing or too much info let me know.

gallery_61107_6077_9354.jpg
For the base I used a Space Wolf terminator torso and and Grey Knights terminator legs for no other reason that they were laying around or more suitable for the pose.
gallery_61107_6077_20992.jpg
For the arms I used Grey Knights arms again because they were laying around and i had already hacked them once and I also used Forgworld Cataphractil terminator ligting claws as they were most suitible for the pose but in the last Mark one I used Anvil industries bionic arms large claws and not shown but used are the Grey Knights Terminator shoulder pads.

So heres the basic pose and mock up.
gallery_61107_6077_21975.jpg
The next step is to remove all the detailing from the torso ready for the breast plate.
I also hacked the legs apart and move them closer together and more under the waist as I cant stand the massive mind the gap stance GW has on the terminator models and it adds about 2 to 3mm to the height. Piston are from watch peices and carved into the legs as detailing.
gallery_61107_6077_35162.jpg
Detailing is also sanded off the shoulder pads and the arms have been cut at below the elbow and the lighting claws are pinned on.
gallery_61107_6077_39512.jpggallery_61107_6077_30770.jpg
Now I create a template for the breast plate out of paper that has been folded in half to make the pattern symetrical it is then unfolded and traced around on very thin styrene to produce this.(note i will come back and give diamensions to this later)
gallery_61107_6077_59103.jpg
Spend sometime bending this to shape prior to fitting it to the torso with Green stuff
gallery_61107_6077_23413.jpgAs you can see i modified the shape a little prior to fitting and I have shaped the top of the torso a bit.

Next I carved the torso in preparation for more detailing

So I will have to edit in some more into the how to guide above at a later date, but I have been really inspired by greyalls drawings so have made quite a bit of progress on my Iron hands version of Mjuron Vvarkhor. Tried to keep as close to the essence of Greyalls drawing allowing for materails limitations and the fact it is to be distinctly a son of Ferrus.

Hope you all like the progress so far.

Currently working on the leg armor and the banner so hope to have a progress report by the end of the week.

Ya see, things like this almost make me feel bad for my Legion having taken part in killing your gene-father.....almost.

Damn, honesty like that almost makes me not want to tear out the spines of thousands of IVth Legionaries at Tallarn...almost

Pfft, you're a fool if you think any traitor had anything to do with Ferrus's death. Fulgrim needed the daemon in his sword to do his dirty work. In fact I'm looking forward to your next short story detailing your praetor's thoughts now that its been revealed to him that he was being used to further a daemonic agenda. That fact that he's Catheric only makes the irony sweeter ;)

@Jokaero- Btw, did you crack open a computer chip to get the techno lines on the terminator's chest? Because that detailing is awesome! Reminds me of IHF's images. It's a nice change from slapping cogs everywhere.

Thanks guys for all the positive feedback glad you all like him.

Beyond excellent, all of it. Can you show some more detail or close ups of the arms on "Johnny"? The pose is amazing.

In will try to get some close ups of Johnny for you and see if I can remember the bits I used for you.

Oh man, with the Gorgon Terminators providing some nice bits for you, I'm rather excited to see (if you ever do) what you can do with them.

I don't need any more encouragement to go heresy ( thinks he can here heathens chanting already) , with forge worlds beautiful sculpts and GW all but giving the finger to the old school. But budget and a man cave full of incomplete kits won't allow for that any time soon.

But since I love to sculpt and model bash guess I could get into the heresy the hard way.

No those techno lines comprise of 13 pieces of brass tube and brass etched spurs. I have had the idea for a while for the techno lines but only just came up with the idea how to pull it .

But must give credit where it's due, after seeing IHF work it really made it a must to pull it off.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can make tiny barcode matrix for shoulder pad detailing and standard barcode for Clave markings and shotcode barcodes for campaign marks it would be really appreciated or if IHF could put these on his images so I just have to find a way to make them work.

Oh yeah a way to make tiny binary code would be great too, just so I can put 01000101011000010111010000100000011101000110100001101001011100110010000001110100011010010110111000100000011011010110000101101110 On a Iron Hands power fist just for heathens IW boys ;)

Have made some really good progress on the legs and a few other details so hope to have some more pics up soon.

Hexadecimal would be the way then
