Another bit of progress ...

 

I have finished painting the custom shoulder pad on the first long fang. The other finished long fang and long fang sergeant have also been given a custom shoulder pad, as has the first grey hunter. I'll try to paint those up in the following days.

Another progress update. I finished the last of the wolf scouts. These were more difficult as their pistols are touching the shoulder pads where I was trying to put the chaos icon on. The first one was still ok, but the second one I had to put the icon off center.

I finished the first three scouts last night. Although the pictures are a bit dark, I find that the minis themselves are a bit darker as well. Maybe a side effect of spraying the charadon granite with my airbrush in stead of painting it on with a regular brush? I think it suits the scouts as they should be more stealthy and not glow in the dark ;)

While painting the second drop pod, I noticed that I had neglected to highlight some pieces on the first, so the first drop pod also got some more love ...

Have you considered using grey instead of white for the eyes? It will cut down a bit on the bug-eyed look. Also, adding eyebrows helps. For doing the pupil, depending on whether you're using a pen or a brush, try & paint it as more of a circle than a dot, it's ok if it's not a perfect circle because rarely is all of our pupil 100% visible.

 

Use images of eyes as reference, rather than images of models w/ painted eyes. It's helpful to see the actual thing you're trying to paint rather than a facsimile of it.

I did a marathon run of assembling marines and finished eight new marines. The only one I still need to do for my 1000 point list is the third wolf guard with combi-melta and powerfist. I hope to get some time tomorow to finish this last model so I can start undercoating and basecoating the whole lot this weekend. All these models also got the greenstuffed dark wolves icon on their shoulderpad.

I like them :P Simple but effective colour scheme and nice painted keep up the good work. I really like you're base because their are very simple not like a guy standing on hundreds and hundreds of skulls or a dreadnought ect.

I like the look! They're a bunch of hairy badasses. I think the only thing that stands out to me is that they all maybe look a bit too clean for a Space Wolf/Chaos hybrid army? Like maybe there should be some blood spatters or dirt if you're up to adding it over the cool paint job. :D

I've never been one to mess up newly painted figures. I just can't bring up the courage to do it. But I suppose even renegade space wolves don't run around bloodsoaked all day. Envision these guys just having stepped out of their drop pods in stead off already having masacred a small population.
