I'm tempted to go with a bastardised version of one of Cods suggestions as it is quite fitting for a nearly deceased marine- INT IMA F ORT I TUD OS = Courage within. As for the name(s), at my highschool was a samoan family that were really cool, they had Joshua, Julius, Joseph, Jakob and an older brother whom I can't remember.
