Ok so with help from a friend i think i've managed to post a pic. The focus is a little off but that's something i can work. The picture (assuming it works) is of Brother Larrikin, one of two Dreadnoughts belonging to the 3rd Battle Company and currently seconded to Strike Force Belial.

Comments are always welcome.

Edit: After seeing the picture on here myself it's apparent that the focus is VERY off and the camera is too close. Pictures on phones obviously do not translate very well onto the forums! I'll get to working on these issues; now I know how to post there's likely to be no stopping me! ;)

Very nice looking army you got going Stobs, really like that company master looks awesome, cant wait to see the whole company =)

Shorty not sure if you should have posted your dreadnought in someone else's topic, if you want C&C you should create a topic where you can put up your army pics, from what I can tell though it looks good, kinda blurred pic though, is it pre heresy?

Good Stuff! =)

Thanks for helping Shortysl out BB. I've been wandering a bit and only really lurking here.

Shortysl; Your Dred looks sweet, you arre welcome to post here but as Dark Rage says, it's probably best to start your own thread. That way you can change the title and control the content, it's also a great way to get a bit of a blog thing going. Work on the focus too bro

Dark Rage; cheers, I've finished Company Chaplain Isiah, unfortunately the wife had taken the camera south for a couple of days (yay-painting time between plastering and sanding the bathroom). She's back soon and I should be able to post a pic or two tonight or tomorrow

Absolutely stunning !! A jump pack Chappy [with plasma pistol] - was my first ever HQ when I started playing/collecting back in 3rd ed (and still my fav DA unnamed HQ ever). What a superb bit of characterisation you've achieved there in model form.

Cheers and Happy New Year

I

Point taken on the feedback guys, I'll be sure to get a thread of my own going but it'll definitely have to wait until i've got a decent camera! Stobz, your work is an inspiration mate, seriously. I was proud of my models even before seeing your work but ever since i saw your thread I've been going back to them to see how they could be improved, so thank you.

Your Chaplain is awe inspiring, I can think of no other term for it. Kudos to you.

Thanks guys, I'm a bit proud of him and I'm hoping the pride doesn't lead me to cell 42 for a quick modesty retraining session <_< I've still a long way to go and a lot of new techniques to learn, for eg. I just learnt how to 'flame' up JPs for this guy and I think I've sorted out the 'lightning' effects on the crozius :)

Isiah; me too, it's funny how the circle turns, I used to use the old sculpt with bionic face with a plastic PP and a metal JP, he always looked a bit clumsy so I'm glad for the newish sculpt. btw I'll be playing this one as an Interrogator despite how I listed him ;) .

Take care all, happy new year from me too.

You know Stobz, I was just admiring the effect on the crozius... Tremendous work mate! And the lettering on the loin cloth and the purity seals - not to mention the guy's autograph on the jump pack! Now Brother-Chaplain Nathanael will think twice before he "borrows" it again ! Forgot to mention the eye lense effect - awesome! especially when contrasted with the not-so-clean-bone skull mask! It's almost as if he unearthed the skull from a grave and put it on!

Now how did you come to the decision for an old style Chapter symbol? And what does 57 stand for? Step into this room please... :)

Edited by Captain Semper

Yup, that Nathanael is a bit of a "borrower", I'm glad he'll leave things alone now.

I really liked the old symbol from DPDargor's model in the DA Showcase thread, I contemplated the implications of it looking a little fallen. Then I looked at Azzy's- he has the 'feathers' facing down so I forged ahead and 'personalised' this one. Not to mention it fits in the MkIII pad better. I did 4 normal symbols on the scrolls to show he's on our side if that helps.

57 is a randon number that fits, it seemed to be begging something else, and I like quotes from Pulp Fiction etc..

The eyes on this model(the GW version and the actual sculpt) always looked tacked on to me, one of the reasons I didn't jump to buy this model when it came out. I had to try to make them look like lenses instead of wonky eyes so I went for the 'sunglasses' look. I'm glad it worked.

Stobz, this is getting repetitive, but he's awesome! I actually really like the "old-school" style red chapter icon, it actually just makes me think the suit is "that old" not that he resembles a Fallen. You've done a great job on the scroll work and text, the little free-hand icons are awesome, and all the little details just bring this guy together!

The arcanium and the helm lenses are out of this world, I've seen those techniques before, but they really stand out on the chaplain, run of the mill techniques or something a bit different?

The insignia is bloody awesome. I definitely might have an attempt at doing the old DA winged sword at some point. I really like the touches on the Knee pad, you've just solved my problem on incorporating a small amount of Green and ed on my terminator's armour without making them look like Christmasmarines.

This just makes me glad that I have an Asmodai in the post!

Howzit? last post for 2011, I'm a bit drunk so cheers

Lenses were silver, red ink, gold HL, red wash, silver spots.

Asmodai rules, second best 40k scuplt ever, only behind Zeke.

ENJOY
