OSS, thanks buddy, there does seem to be slight disturbance somewhere in the maelstrom but it'll right itself soon enough. I've even worked on an ork model lately!?

 

ElDuderino, thanks buddy. I always try to spend a little time getting my models into as natural and dynamic a pose as is possible with the armour.

I added a different banner after a discussion with Krautscientist, I think I still prefer the Minotaur one but let me know your thoughts folks. I also messed about adding some pennant things I had in my bits box as a nod back to the old Epic Imperial Knights.

The one bit of this build that I'm struggling with is finding a piece to cover the gaps at the end of the shoulders. I really need to hunt through my bits to find some suitable bits.

Wouldn't just sheets of plasticard do it? Suitably embellished with worky-bits.

 

 The Khorne banner and the pennants both work superbly.

I've followed krauts blog for maybe a year now and despite the fact he mentions you all the time yesterday was the first time I checked out your stuff. I'm glad I did man because you have real talent. Your miniatures and not so miniatures are fantastic.

The fact your a fellow jock gives you added brownie points lol.

 

I've been slowly ever so slowly building my resources to start my own iron warrior blog, infact I'll be picking myself up a wee dremel multitool tonight, and your and krauts blog have been a great source of inspiration.

Managed a minute amount of time before work this morning to throw a few details at the Gorehound base, so now it's Goldilocks time. Too much? Too little? Or just right? Remember there will be another Cadian behind the barrier once I get some more bits. ;)

The only things that is slightly off to me are the pouches and grenades by the jerry cans, seem too orderly some how but otherwise a fantastic base!

OSS I've had those bits since I started the Titan as the frames behind the dozers are now part of the Gorehounds foot. ;)

 

Nighthunters, seriously mate if you're offering Id be honoured to have you build a cowering lackey of the corpse emperor for me!? The pouches etc were bugging me as well. They'll be spread out a little more or removed completely. :)

For now though, I picked up a box of Cadians yesterday to use as casualties but after looking at the kit I decided to move plans forward to build some Traitor Guard/Cultists. I have ordered a set of Scions as well to use as an HQ type unit. These pics are very early WIP so still have all the Aquila etc. The plan is to have a PDF force who have only recently thrown in their lot with the Ruinous powers so haven't fully defiled their armour yet. Also as Khorne is the God of Martial Prowess I thought some hardened veteran guardsmen would fit more than zealous cultists. Although I have built my cultists from the new DV box as well.

That would be a crazy kinda carnage haha. Paint will hopefully be happening soon as I'm frustrating myself with the amount of grey plastic in my ever expanding force. There's quite a lot of these maniacs now. I won't be showing an army shot till they're all painted but it should look quite imposing. Walkers galore haha

The Gorehound base is very cool, really completes the model, it wouldn't look right on anything other than a scene of destruction. I love the head swap on that lead cultist, very simple conversion but lends so much more menace than that Oni-ish mask. It's also cool that you're reinforcing the notion of Khorne as a deity impressed by and encouraging of combat skill in his followers, the IG cultists make a lot of sense in that regard and I look forward to seeing what you do with them when you've finished having your mad Warpsmith way with them. What's this about paint? Exciting.

Thanks buddy. I'll be working on the Gorehounds base ASAP. After seeing Nighthunters progress on the 'survivor' I'm feel in all inspired. In the meantime I was sitting the other night and had one of those 'let's see if I can' moments. So I built a wee Eversor counts as. It's pretty rough and I'm really not happy with the head but it could work. I think anyway.

Maybe just a bit of detail on the head perhaps? I knew it was an Eversor before I saw it mentioned so that makes it a winner to me, I like his claw
