Clever Girl... - Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge

No tablet, mate, I use a simple mechanical pencil, and then apply a little darkening to the lines on the most basic of office programs =)

With some of the longer straight lines I use a book or another straight "aid". I know it's not what "real artists" do but I do have a hard time with keeping lines levelled.

Ive been lurking here a while now and this most recent piece of art is just one of those ones that i love to go back to and look at over and over. Your other works are incredible, but this one just stands out to me for some reason!

The Stone Hearts drawing is just one of those pieces in which I've managed to make my Marines look solid, plausible. I still have a bit of a hard time getting them on realistic poses and stuff, and this one just makes it look like there's someone filling that armour, methinks. So I fully agree with you, mate. Thanks a bunch.

Taking a smaaaaaalish break from drawing to complete the DoW2 campaign, should return to it tonight. Sorry, Thirst. The drawing makes up for the delay, though, if I may say so. Quite proud of this one.

I'm not your employer, so no deadlines, and DOW 1 and 2 are both amazing, so completely understood. Meanwhile, I even get a drawing from an artist of your caliber in the first place. Tell me why you're apologizing again? ;)

You know what, after a short hiatus I know I can always rest happy knowing that more awesome work will continue to appear in this thread. It always makes my day. Hats off to your latest pieces Greyall, thoroughly amazing! (As per always)

Ladies and gents, our venerable Apostle Thirst's creation...the Angels of Adamantium, represented by Captain Elsike:

Soaking Imperial pantaloons since M35.

I know you really wanted that Chaplain in the back, Thirst, but I just reached my limit, man. The Guardsmen were furiously done in a few hours because I just collapsed after finishing Elsike. Do hope you like it as much as I do, pretty happy with the armour.

Cheers, all, thanks in advance. Heraldries for the honourable mentions are next. I'll send personal messages, stay sharp.

There is pretty much nothing I can say that could represent how utterly perfect this is. That face... That glaive... That face...That spear... That face...Those Guardsmen... That face... drool.gifwub.png

I could ask for nothing more. Thank you, well and truly blush.png

EDIT: coding

Am I the only one who thinks the guardsman on the right looks like he should be in a Speed Racer episode, with the way his mouth looks?

'OhthemarineisveryshinyandmagnificentIcannotwaittoseehimkillthefoulxenosforthatiswhattheydoandthatiswhatIshouldbedoingbuttheydoitbetterandIwishtoseethatmyself OHHHHH!!!'

Goofy guardsman aside, the only thing bugging me is his wings. Something is wrong with the edges around the outline, the way it is defined 3 Dimensionally, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

Also, why is his loin cloth moving forward? I think you may be getting a bit too liberal with those. msn-wink.gif

Oh well. Another beauty, and DAT seems happy enough. Not one of your best in my opinion though. rolleyes.gif

Really? I do think it's one of my best, that armour took an insane amount of patience and concentration, both of which I lack...

Aye, issues with perspective abound, but apart from the filigree on the vambraces looking strange, none bother me too much.

Thanks, everyone. So glad you like it, Thirst =)

Holy Bling-tacular Batman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the detail in the armor. My only crit is the knee pad armor. I would have liked to see it angled from the middle out rather than flat. But what do I know. I have no artistic ablity so I live vicariously through those that do.

No, like the armor was amazing. It, and the face - especially the face, hence my emphasis - seemed to just fit in my mind of the Angels and Elsike. I don't think in pictures, with the mind's eye and all that. I think in more abstract form, ideas being the basis for everything else. When I saw the picture, and Elsike's expression - one of serene superiority - it just went perfectly with how I imagined the Angels of Adamantium
