Greyall
Many gracias, mates. Yay, I'm getting wall-space =) @Trub: I knew the helm reminded me of a character, in the end. Awesomely noted, a pity we never get to see the fat king's armour. Olis
Holy cheese balls, those Stone Hearts are awesome. Hats off to you sir, stunning details on a very interesting piece of art. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3350980 Share on other sites
Greyall
Thanks, mate. Capital credit to Count Octav (your nick has such potential), as well, his concept and ideas fuelled the drawing. Ekim_Trub
Now there would be an interesting project- Astartes armour based on the great houses of Westeros. I would love a Game of Thrones prequel- just to see Robert and Ned in their prime, lol. -Brutus-
Epic thread! I see your stuff over at DeviantArt as well =) How do you do your linework btw? I assume you are using a tablet... But how do you get the lines so straight well defined? Whenever I drav something It's more like scetching. Greyall
No tablet, mate, I use a simple mechanical pencil, and then apply a little darkening to the lines on the most basic of office programs =) With some of the longer straight lines I use a book or another straight "aid". I know it's not what "real artists" do but I do have a hard time with keeping lines levelled. Captain Cirrius
Ive been lurking here a while now and this most recent piece of art is just one of those ones that i love to go back to and look at over and over. Your other works are incredible, but this one just stands out to me for some reason! Greyall
The Stone Hearts drawing is just one of those pieces in which I've managed to make my Marines look solid, plausible. I still have a bit of a hard time getting them on realistic poses and stuff, and this one just makes it look like there's someone filling that armour, methinks. So I fully agree with you, mate. Thanks a bunch. Taking a smaaaaaalish break from drawing to complete the DoW2 campaign, should return to it tonight. Sorry, Thirst. The drawing makes up for the delay, though, if I may say so. Quite proud of this one. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3356735 Share on other sites
Dark Apostle Thirst
I'm not your employer, so no deadlines, and DOW 1 and 2 are both amazing, so completely understood. Meanwhile, I even get a drawing from an artist of your caliber in the first place. Tell me why you're apologizing again? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3356907 Share on other sites

Nexus25
I love making them all Termies and eating faces in the story. For some real fun in DOW2 look up the wargear mod. So many fun things that were not suppose to make it into the actual gme but still in wargear code file. Shadowstalker Grim
You know what, after a short hiatus I know I can always rest happy knowing that more awesome work will continue to appear in this thread. Greyall
Ladies and gents, our venerable Apostle Thirst's creation...the Angels of Adamantium, represented by Captain Elsike: http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/133/0/0/angels_of_adamantium_by_greyall-d656din.jpg Soaking Imperial pantaloons since M35. I know you really wanted that Chaplain in the back, Thirst, but I just reached my limit, man. The Guardsmen were furiously done in a few hours because I just collapsed after finishing Elsike. Do hope you like it as much as I do, pretty happy with the armour. Cheers, all, thanks in advance. Heraldries for the honourable mentions are next. I'll send personal messages, stay sharp. Aqui
If that doesn't make DAT turn Loyalist, I don't know what will! And of a sudden, I feel much excitement. Thanks again Greyall. Messor
Great work, I also really like that armor, and I can pretty clearly imagine that those guardsmen have soaked their pantaloons. Malatox
This thread is one of the reasons I love Bolter and Chainsword!Absolutely amazing stuff, I don't know anyone who wouldn't love you to do a piece for them haha.- Malatox Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3370553 Share on other sites
Dark Apostle Thirst
There is pretty much nothing I can say that could represent how utterly perfect this is. That face... That glaive... That face...That spear... That face...Those Guardsmen... That face... I could ask for nothing more. Thank you, well and truly EDIT: coding Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3370645 Share on other sites

Firepower
Am I the only one who thinks the guardsman on the right looks like he should be in a Speed Racer episode, with the way his mouth looks?'OhthemarineisveryshinyandmagnificentIcannotwaittoseehimkillthefoulxenosforthatiswhattheydoandthatiswhatIshouldbedoingbuttheydoitbetterandIwishtoseethatmyself OHHHHH!!!'Goofy guardsman aside, the only thing bugging me is his wings. Something is wrong with the edges around the outline, the way it is defined 3 Dimensionally, but I can't quite put my finger on it...Also, why is his loin cloth moving forward? I think you may be getting a bit too liberal with those. Oh well. Another beauty, and DAT seems happy enough. Not one of your best in my opinion though. Greyall
Really? I do think it's one of my best, that armour took an insane amount of patience and concentration, both of which I lack... Aye, issues with perspective abound, but apart from the filigree on the vambraces looking strange, none bother me too much. Thanks, everyone. So glad you like it, Thirst =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3371266 Share on other sites

Nexus25
Holy Bling-tacular Batman!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the detail in the armor. My only crit is the knee pad armor. I would have liked to see it angled from the middle out rather than flat. But what do I know. I have no artistic ablity so I live vicariously through those that do. Dark Apostle Thirst
No, like the armor was amazing. It, and the face - especially the face, hence my emphasis - seemed to just fit in my mind of the Angels and Elsike. I don't think in pictures, with the mind's eye and all that. I think in more abstract form, ideas being the basis for everything else. When I saw the picture, and Elsike's expression - one of serene superiority - it just went perfectly with how I imagined the Angels of Adamantium Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-wink-wink-nudge-nudge/page/75/#findComment-3371518 Share on other sites
