So Christmas time will see me getting a few thing for them sorted & possible rebase to 32mm base that the same time as my Iron Warriors during the Christmas holidays.  Just with all the updated Marine kits been release.

 

I really enjoy converting the melta arm Iron Warrior there.  The Terminator just been undercoated along with the Dark Mechanicus carry the Combi Plasma for him, so get the armour stage done during today.  Just about to try converting up the gunner for my Wyvren so there all ready to paint as soon as possible.

Update

 

Just return from my local wargaming club event - Rapid Fire that was just a few hour ago.  Weekend of gaming, with 6 rounds & 1850pts.  Had a really great weekend & had some really great games.  Going need to add some trophies base on a few of those games due to how epic lot of thing went.

 

Like my Obliterators who held up this side of the table, taken on everything Tau had until the last few turns.  Just photo show him making a unit Kroot flee after they arrive by flank - just maelstorm & trying stop them from claim object near by.  Followed by unit of Tau suit deep striking, rapid fire Plasma & I rolled four 6's for my Inv save :D

Then game vs my friend Chaos Guard army, was really hard fought & on the edge game.  Also first game my Chaos Siege knight made it though a game with only one hull point loss!!!!  He went berzerker taken down 6 tanks (Pask/4x Leman Russ, 2x Wyvrens) as well as the Baneblade.  Was a really fun game.
While I've had a lot great & brillaint games.  It been a while since I've had a game that been on the edge, I've commented about the Space Wolves game from Throne of Skulls Nov 2012 & shown photos that one.  Think after this game my mind started going into shut down mod.

Pick up Chaos player race award which I'm happy with & as always my Iron Warriors pick up the army award which suprise me as there lot cool armies. Got the Forge World order only model & weather powder as part of the prize which is great as well, never exspected the FW weather powder that all & three out six are once I always use.

With the armies, everyone vote for the armies they like & there was a lot cool armies on display.  For me - When I go to events, gaming wise I just want to get some great hard fought & fun games, I'm not bother on win, loss or draw & I hate it when get some people telling me what armies/units I should or should not have.

But gaming wise just there get games.  I don't get as often as I use to, 15 games per week back 2005.

 

While army wise, this is what I like & aim for.  I like seen cool armies.  So like Warhammer World last week I've got a lot great idea's that I want to use on my own models.  Just always like this side & always nice when army up for nominee & always make me push forward.  I am where I am today in the hobby due to this side & as said main part I enjoy & as said just seen really cool armies.

 

It the new Ultramarine comic Black Library just release last week.  It look alright, I've not had time to properly look that it as it been a busy month.  Just I rememeber Warhammer Monthly comic & Bloodquest stories from them been a big source that help me & lot idea toward my models :D

As said I'd go along just get games.  This weekend was great fun.  Still shock how my Knight done or thing like Obliterator.  It epic moment like that & great oppent make game fun.  Also add onto my Iron Warrior history & again why I like adding trophies to my models.

 

So as said there will be a few trophies possible added or that least added to any new future models & units.

 

I'm happy I got the base done.  Just since I'm move my Power Armour models 32mm base, though I use some these to make base for my Tanks, so possible somthing to do in the near future?  I've got a few spare.

Also going to rebase the first Chaos Knight I done last year.  Just update it a little bit & match the three Chaos Knight I've added since then.

Sounds like you've got a really good attitude about tournaments. You'll find as well, the people who tell you what to take just netlist their armies anyway. Sometimes taking the less popular choices pays off as people don't know what to expect...taking a few janky decks to Magic tournies over the years has taught me that.

Sounds like you've got a really good attitude about tournaments. You'll find as well, the people who tell you what to take just netlist their armies anyway. With tournament - Yes just as said I'm there to

 

• Just get games in, great games led to me wanting to try get more games in.
• Catch up with friends
• Met new people & like minded hobbiest
• See cool models & armies.  While I may not collect this or that army, somthing will inspired me.  So like last week, that Salamander unit made me want to build a unit theme around the Iron Warrior Forgefane background.  Almost got the parts, infact I need to PM a friend over on facebook to remind them drop of some parts tomorrow.

I just don't see the point that some people need to cheat or go over top just to win games.  In all the year I've been going to events, I've only ever had 6 terrible games, worst one when a oppent rage quite for no other reason that lossing.  That led to me getting a headache & I had to keep saying sorry to rest my oppents that I may not be as social due to that & time I got home was spent trying to be ok for the second day of the tournament.

 

While I've fought a lot great games.  As said the Wolves ToS 2012 (photo show few post back) when we had just 3 models each is part my very top games, or the one vs Chaos in the old UKGT heat 1 2005.  Or that game vs my friend Chaos Guard.  I like those hard fought games, though they often leave my head going into shut down/zombie mod as it where.

 

As always I take the models, units & army I enjoy collect.  My Iron Warriors are my most trusted army I've taken to tournament.  They where the first once I'd taken to my first event - Conflict Scotland 2002.

They've been to lot of events local & Warhammer World with Throne of Skulls.  It great games that have help go on & add to the units & army history.

Yes I really like getting games of Battlefleet Gothic & really looking forward to the computer game been release next year?  Photo shown there are my Mk2 once, after buying BFG ship for a few parts toward backpack conversion.  Though I get a new fleet built, like my IW to move away from the old ink.

 

During my gaming club campign (sp) ended up trying to add that least one of each class of ship just give me chose & found out that we also gain more ships after each battle.

 

With the fleet - I've went with the Black Crusade list.  The main reason for this is, it allow me to use the plastic models.  I'm not keen on metal models when I can help it & BFG ships are part of the metal models I dread to build, already built a fleet for my Space Wolves which have gotten damage while moving house a few year ago & also building for other.  I'm not going to do that again & once more why I've kept to the 13th Black Crusade list as it was all plastic.

The fleet will stay the same unless I get any more plastic ships in the future.

 

Quick update

 

With first event finish & another one in a few week time.  Aim get as much of my Call of Chaos vow built & painted as possible   Just finish building the Rhino for my Bloodborn unit, unit of Elite World Eater from Khârn Eater of World novel.

This will be painted tomorrow.  I've also just place a order for Forge World transfer.  After trying out the Iron Warriors sheet & few mechanicus, I've really enjoy useing transfer toward my model.

 

While the World Eater them selfs.  I've already pick up the Khorne upgrade pack & Night Lord terror squad helmet.  It now just waiting for the Horus Heresy box game to be release in a few weeks time to get the unit built.  As said this might led on to a Daemonkin force in the future.  But for now just wanted to get the unit built for no other reason than though it be cool & great theme toward my Iron Warriors army.

 

Also got a few moment to built my Chaos Guard gun crew for my Wyvren just over a hour ago.  I just need to add the backpack from the Renegade upgrade from Forge World onto them & they will be ready paint for next week.

If I though about it a bit more (as said this whole month been chaotic/lot on the go) I could have had them ready for tomorrow & possible gotten there first game this week.  But it never happen.  So going to try get the Chaos Guards first game next week once these crew memeber are painted

It'll ether be Blood for the Blood god had just been painted or flash due to part room the board in not that great with the light.  As said should hopeful have photos during the weekend.  Or if people want to see the board before getting little update, this board was made back in 2012 for Armies on Parade back then :D

 

Chaos Knight are cool & offer a lot great conversion.  I'm planning on my fifth one so I can run a stand alone armies of Knights.  Just trying to work out conversion idea & most like go unbound to use the Chaos Knight rule from Forge World?  Knight models are cool & one of the best models to built & paint.~
So we'll see what happen around Christmas time.

 

With the Wyvren crew - All my cultist use the Cadain models.  Just chose as I didn't want a ragtag look to my Cultist & it also allow them to be Chaos Guard if I wanted to use the Guard codex as standard Guard units.  While the plastic Storm Trooper are the Veteran/Elite.  Sort think of Half Life 2.

Yeah it was more from how you were going to model the chosen. I've only played a couple of games so no idea how good they are in game. Just think they're a cool idea for a unit.

I'm of the same thoughts about the Helbrute. My world eaters are going to run two converted Ven Dreads rather than the brute model. I'm gonna keep them for either a Black Legion force or possibly a Word Bearer one.

For the Chosen model wise. I will be making use of the Raptor Chainsword from the new plastic kits, with each blade being diffrent & more mod. But I will leave the rest until the unit is ready for posting I am going to try convert up two of the chosen during the weekend.

As said there I wanted to theme my Cultist on the Chaos Guards from Space Marine the computer game. The general idea is ment to be that these are our standard Guard from a Forge World type planet who thrown there lot with Chaos. They are not a rag-tag rabble, they are still well train troops who know how to fight & to hold there ground.
I use Cadain are the base for these models, FW Chaos Guards conversion pack for the backpacks & then the gun part from the Kroot to help convert the gun into Autogun type weapons.

The Cultist above where not the first models to be built in that way/inspired by the Space Marine computer game. These models started back in June when I started a Chaos theme Guard army so I could use them with my IW's for those one off 3000pts games.
But thanks to the new rules allow us allies (sp) & codex Chaos allow us Cultist unit. I am current getting my Chaos Guard models ready so they can be use in both the Chaos Guard force or my Iron Warriors as Cultist.

Right now these ten models will be use with the unit posted above, bring the unit to 20 models.

Update

 

My Iron Warriors recently took part in Armies on Parade.  Once again it really cool seen all the diffrent display & general just seen really cool armies.  Like the Dark Angels: Ravenwing board which had a squad of Biker jump the river & just overall board was really cool, they've just started the hobby last year as well & aim to add onto the board for next year.

Or the board with Knights slaught Nids with Ultramarines support.

 

For my own board, I though I'd update the board I built back in 2012.

Call of Chaos

 

I've started work on the Bloodborn unit.  Unit of Chosen with Mark of Khorne.  Since taken this photo, I'm going to re-paint the Rhino as I've not been to keen on the way the red turn out.  So I've got somthing else planned after talking with a friend recently.  So if I've got time tomorrow, I'll re-paint the red basecoat & try the new way :D   Then go forward on the unit as soon as I've bought the new Horus Heresy box game (can not wait :D )

Useing the Chaos from the Chaos vs Ultramarine display as a big inspire/idea.  I'm also wanting to add the Khorne icon onto my own Rhino hatch.  Theme wise the unit will be from the World Eater Legion, Veteran of the Long war & took part in the battle the display from Warhammer World base upon.  Now helping my 5th Grand Company, also allow me to use the cool Forge World Khorne upgrade along with the Night Lord Terror squad helmet.

This might led onto a Daemonkin army in the future.  Right now it just painting models that look cool & try out a few things.  Also got the Khorne Age of Sigmar models which parts will be use toward my conversion.

So right now my to-do list is

 

• Get the crew for Wyvren painted this week.  They should hopeful get there first game this week as well, just waiting to hear from a friend if there still ok for the game.
• Also got the classic Metal Chaos Lord pick up during today.  So he going to be built & painted this week as well
• Once the Horus Heresy release, going to use part from that to help convert up my Khorne Bloodborn unit & that going be my next unit
• Pretty much get my Call of Chaos vows finish as soon as possible with a month & a few week lefts.
• I've almost got all the parts there for the Iron Warrior unit I'm theme around the Grand Company that fought during Forgefane.  Just trying to look for a way to make those Iron Warriors look a bit diffrent from my own Grand Company, but still tie in (eg: Metal armour loin cloths).  I'll have somthing sorted.
• As always, focuse on trying get my Dark Mechanicus army finish.  I think I've got a idea how I want my army list to look & hopeful sort that out tomorrow.  This way I can start letting family know what to get me for Christmas :D

First up - Just saw this video posted over on the Horus Heresy model & painting group, where Mark Bedford from Forge World talk about army painting during a seminar (Forge World open day this year?).  It really great & worth watching.  Also why I always aim to get my models painted, as said before I'm not keen on useing unpainted models in my own games, there somthing off putting.

Also been spend bit time during the weekend re-painting the Bloodborn Rhino.  It little bit more darker than before.  Still a few things left to paint & then that it complete for my Call of Chaos vow.

Also my World Eater transfer arrive during today & added a few them to the Rhino.  Rest will be use on the squad, just waiting on the Horus Heresy box game to go on advance order & aim to use one of the squads to convert up my Bloodborn unit.

I was going to spray matt varnish onto the tanks.  But it been really bad with the mist here & still has been for best part of 12+ hours.

The Chaos Lord model ready for painting tomorrow during my day off.  As said this is one of my favrout models & though be best to pick up the model last week.  Just unsure how long the model will be on sale over on the Games Workshop web site.  I might try buy one more & paint him in Black Legion colours.

But I'm looking forward to painting the Lord.

 

I've also got the last three models for my Chaos Guard army all ready for painting tomorrow as well.  I'm meant to have a game arrange this week which will see my Chaos Guards in there first battle.  I'm looking forward to this & it meant to be possible against another Guard force.  Ether way just good to see the Chaos Guard army nearly complete, after three years of been a on/off project.  With Call of Chaos & a few other things, give me chance to finial get going with this army other wise doubt it would have happen that all.

 

I think I've also got a idea how I want my Dark Mechanichs 1850pts force to look/aim for to get few games in.  I was going to go for the White Dwarf formastion, but to be honsty there to many of them kicking about.  Also I'm not keen on the assassin's type robot - rust-stalker?  I've try painting the models but not really enjoy it.  So I think it will mainly be Vanguard, Ranger, walker & dune-walker along with Mechanichs allies useing the formation with Tech-priest & deep striking Kataphron Breachers.
Just need to buy a new box of Vanguard/ranger & want to try convert up a Vanguard model to be my Warlord for the Dark Mechanicus force.

Update

 

Spent a bit of today getting Forge World weather powder added onto the World Eater Rhino during today.  I think I might need to add one more layer of weather powder, but going to wait & let the MIG pigment fixer fully dry & see how the model look tomorrow.  Other than that just a few bits of detail to finish painting & then that another Call of Chaos vow complete

 

Note - Right now my camera been acting up right now.  I'll hopeful have this all fix soon.

My Chaos guards from a recent game vs a friend Chaos Daemon army.  Photo was taken before & after the game useing my mobile phone.  I've still got the three Wyvren crew to paint.  Just Wed just there, ended up been worst day 2015 for me to be honsty.  But I'm happy how the army looking.  Also just to finial gotten it all done, as said it been three year on/off I've been trying to get this Chaos Guard army on the go.  Release with the current codex help with Tank commander for the list I wanted to try.

As said in past update.  I'm wanting to start adding units from the Renegade list from Armour 13: Lost & the Damned.

I've got a box of Vanguard/Ranger that I'll be building & painting this week.  It just to have diffrent weapon chose with the army list I've currently written.  Also like to try get a Warlord Vanguard model converted up.

Then next week will see the Khorne/World Eater unit getting built useing models from the Horus Heresy box game.  Should also have my Lord of Skull model back & try aim get a photo of my whole Chaos collection show how much has change since Feb & before the change over to 32mm base for the rest my Iron Warriors.

Rhino nearly complete.  Apart from a backpack (waiting on Horus Heresy box game) it pretty much there.  I'm happy how the Rhino turn out after little bump when I started the model.  But after getting the weather powder's on, just happy how it turn out.  Next week I'll be able to start the World Eater unit.

 

I think I'll use the Khorne marker/stamp (using sponge) for future models, there still a fifth Knight to add to my grand company :D  As said there always possible Daemonkin army, more so after game vs my friends Daemon during the week vs my Chaos Guard army.

 

I was hoping get a little bit time paint the Lord yesterday but chose to get a game vs a friend Dark Eldar.  I'll try get the Lord painted this week along with a few Dark Mechanicus models.  Dark Mechanicus models are just to give me a few weapon chose in units & to try get Warlord Vanguard model converted up.

 

Also I think I've got my camera sorted.  So hopeful get some photos taken tomorrow or Tuesday of my Call of Chaos models :D

For the red & so I rememeber (always take notes when paint a army/model, I'll need to write this down in my hobby note book).

 

- Khorne Red basecoat

- Mephiston red, leave Khorne red in the shade

- Brown wash, make sure it doesn't pool

- Sepia wash, again make sure it doesn't pool

- Brown wash.  I never added this first time around & it look a bit off when I was seen the model.  Re-painted it with this following.

Then highlight.

 

Also quickly say it wasn't the red icon I use, it was more the orange/bronze one from the sheet.  I originally though if I use red it was fade with the armour plate.  Be honesty I'm surprise there not a white icon on the sheet as that would have been better in my view.  I'll leave it for time been, I don't want to mess up any thing on the transfer & have to re-do it all.  Just after re-painting the model & how it was a few week ago more than anything else.

 

Thousand Eyes - It was just one those days where everything rubbish happen though out the day.  But as always going to my local Games Workshop store or just getting hobby stuff done help you forget & move on.

 

Photos are back up, just photobucket tend to have a thing where set amount view cause the bandwigth to go & will return after a set amount of time.  It is annoying & I'll look into B&C gallery as Kurgan suggested.  Also though of maybe starting a facebook page for my IW & general Games Workshop hobby but unsure how much hassle it may be?  I've pretty much only posted here & few facebook groups & only use facebook stay in contact with friends more than anything else.

 

I think I may use the Khorne icon a bit more in the future.  There still a fifth Chaos Knight model to add in the future :D

 

I should have update tomorrow.  Hopeful sorted my camera & just getting few photos of the classic Chaos Lord, Mechanicus, Khorne Rhino & Terminatos + Melta arm Iron Warrior that where both built before Rapid Fire.

Thanks & don't worry it just way flash on camera made it :D  Only thing is I also bought the sheet to use for the unit as well, so try work out something.  I might try apply the transfer & then paint them white just try add that focuse point to the model.  Aim was to add them to knee pads & have the unit sort of nod back to the 2nd ed clip together Khorne Berzerker, models I use to have lots of when I first started the hobby.

 

Just wanting to try get hang of using transfer after first try using them on my Siege Chaos Knight.  It thanks to the Games Workshop video over on youtube that have help out a lot.

The Iron Warriors look stellar, your collection is huge!

 

Something that just struck my mind which could be cool for Iron Warriors spesifically is to do some "bikers" using the Khorne Juggernauts, feels like it'd fit with the whole half machine thing they got going, and I envision the Iron Warriors colors to look pretty great on them. Just an idea.

 

The red looks really vibrant! You seem to be good with the color, was looking back through the threat and the bloodthirsters wings looked especiallty good to me.
