Thanks very much Anaziel, means a lot coming from a person such as yourself. Got to say that Chaplain Desmodus' daddy Flesh Eaters and Chaplain Hiltraud's bad boys rate above mine though!

Liking where you are going with your Angels Sanguine, looking forward to seeing them progress to a full army. Have you checked out OwlandMoonGuy's AS? They are pre-'helmet' fluff but they are excellent and really worth looking at :)

Heh, full frontal snogging a power armored vampire does not an attractive proposition make.

I'm sure there's also a fang pun I could work in there, but I didn't :D

He looks baller! Can't wait to see him painted up.

His chainsword does look an itty bit stock though... kinda threw me a bit.

Hmmm, firstly my apologies for my hardly understandable English.

You have a splendid army, ful of ideas and it reminds me of the astonishing work Frater Desmodius did, some times ago.

But IMHO, you fell into excess on some minis and its a frequent mistake around some "bloody" or "gothic" styles. For example, your golden champion with an axe is way perfect but the cloak is a mistake, it overcharges the mini in a rather rococco way.

Imagine, i dunno... Say the Joker. He is a friggin bad guy ! Well, he is more scarry as a nurse  than a guy with a cloak of skulls if you see what I mean.

In miniature painting, and in fact in all storytellings (a good miniature tells a story), the strongest effects come from contrasts. Contrasts in shades, forms and of course contrasts in fluff depiction. Here you've got an ultra psycho bloodthirsty loyalist chapter and its a strong and excellent contradiction. This can be epitomised (not sure of that word) by the way miniatures describes that fact, depicting a straight uniform unit and clean markings followed by a Rhino with empaled civilians. A man in impeccable war-suit with a drop of blood leaking from his mouth.

Khorne Berserkers butchering a school is war, a loyalist chapter doing the same for some dark reason is shocking atrocity.

Hmmm you have seen many pictures of young starving boys, I guess, its sad be we all grew accustomed to this. Just add a "bird" and you've got a 1994 Pullitzer price by Carter.

@ Dorns_fist - my feelings on leg day are two fold; I hate that feeling of nearly passing out as the blood runs from your head yet I love, to quote Chazz Michael Michaels, the "sweet burrrrn" :D as to what is next, I am going to play aagainst my brothers Orks tonight and decide which looks sadder - the Death Co or the Stormraven! After that the Jaws of Doom, cuz every army needs its troops. If you want to see the rest of the Death Co, have a look waaaaaay back at page 3 of this very log. Yes, I really am that slow :(

@ Dark Sensei - I totally see where you are coming from; most of my grunt marines are in standard imperial armour, few chaos bits used. Not too much in the way of bling either actually! Valek however, is something different. Astartes are big, he stands bigger. Flesh Eaters are angry, borderline (!) psychos. He has the angriest face in 40k. They have fangs, his are as large as poss without being comedy. And they have a penchant for collecting skulls as trophies - he has a cloaks worth! The idea with him was to make him larger than life in every way, and with them taking on a role of Blood Angel flavoured loyalist Night Lord's almost, I feel as though he needs to be terrifying. As in, he us coming for you and you are going to know about it. That is where I was going with him. To heighten the impact, I dropped my Mephiston conversion who sported a similar cloak, with other characters being toned down a few notches when compared to Valek.

That said, I am not totally happy with the execution, mainly down to the size of the skulls used as rightly pointed out by Firepower. They are too big. Alas, they are so well glued down I would ruin him to remove them and replace. Notice nowadays I use smaller skulls in keeping with the scale. Even with the new Death Company dude I have went at great pains to make the cultist appear much smaller than the marine.

Many thanks for your honest appraisal, and for comparing my FE with the great Desmodus, whom is the prime inspiration for any Flesh Eater. That is a big complement. My own Flesh Eaters divide opinion with BA enthusiasts and rightly so :) It is after all a forum and comment AND critique is what we are here for!!

Your English btw is better than mine, and it is my native language :D

Thanks for the comments guys, glad you like :) It helps keep me motivated!! Played my Bros' orks last night, and baring in mind he is a better player than me, pulled off an 11-9 win :biggrin.:  So far with the codex,1 win, 1 loss.

So.....nothing really new for this update, just a reminder of the remaining Deth Co. reinforcements (from way back on page 4 I think....). They have had a couple of tweak here and there and a few details added. Pretty much ready for colour:-

@ Dark Sensei, not at all buddy , comment and criticism are what help push us on. Something that may be missed by the builder/painter may be spotted by an outsider looking in, which can only help to improve things ::thumbsup:

Hopefully, tonight will see undercoat to the Tacs and DC

No... more skulls for the Golden Throne. Obviously :D

I am slightly in love with the Astartes in the first pic on the left. Not only his he holding his pistol hive ganger style, his battle damaged helm looks freakin' sweet!

... can you paint him first? ^_^
