I think one final go of blue should finish them off, then I will do the white and metallic parts.... Still debating where red will go. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I think I'm going to flip the hatch over and use the side with out the vents. I noticed the vents are on the actual turret itself.

Having been in air defense I'd say put it in the back. It means less time for the Techmarines having to scrub the parts of the Rhino behind the launchers.

Started on the white, I'm thinking I'll paint the front plate white as well, possibly the side hatches...

 

On the front where the white meets te blue, there's a flat space on that side of the tracks... How do I paint that lol!???!

Hey man, I got your PM I've just been super lazy lately :P The tanks are looking real good so far, make sure to get some shading in there, and some nic crisp edge highlights and these bad boys will look superb, same goes for the drop pods, I really like their scheme :)

 

That libby is looking cool as well, nice idea to give him robes like that :D

Work this week was... Non existent. I only got a little paint on the brush, and spent a lot of time tryin to come up with the right scheme for the tanks. I contemplated using something kinda like this...

No idea, I google searched predator and that came up.

 

I think last night I decided to do the doors blue, and the weapon cases black... Because my bolters are all black, and I don't want to diverge from that. I think I'll put red on those top hatches, seeing as that's the only location with a trim.

 

Maybe I will do the doors white.

 

This is so much harder to decide compared to the drop pods!!!! I'm loosing my mind!!!

Ok, so I did some work tonight, and then at the last minute I decided that everything I did may have been waisted effort. So I need your help.

 

I'm going to present two views to you, Ignor the black parts, and the fact that one color may not be fully done. It was done last minute to give an idea of how it could look. Please tell me which side you like more.

Things look great. I have been inspired by this force for a long time now. My vehicles have been tan thus far, but looking at yours  I think we'll be going with Corps colors .

 

I'm currently PCS'ing to Ft Belvoir Va.. Once there , my Marines will be  going thru an expansion to become an Apocalypse sized force. The drop pod mounted  battle company I have will be accompanied by a 9 Landspeeder supported mechanized company of assault Marines (8th Co.) ,  a reserve company (6th Co) for defense , and an Air Wing of  3 scratchbuilt Thunderhawks , 3 Stormeagles , & 3 Stormtalons.

 

Looking at the pred you have I'm curious as to what drives your color scheme. This is just my two cents...all guns should be black. White should be used for accent  or  distinction (ie First Co.). Red is a veterans mark ( goes with earned BloodStripe idea and reflects" Ultramarine red helmets on sgts" ) maybe killmarkings for vehicles.  Reserve silver and gold for trim, Eagles,rivets , bayonets, etc. Anyway just ideas.

 

I currently have 2 other large marine armies but because this force is so inspiring I'm pushing them aside to grow this as my main Apoc army.  Keep up the great work,

Awesome, I'm in quantico for the time being, your litteraly on the way to my gaming store.

 

I use red as a trim, and as the blood stripe. Yes it's a veterans mark, but it's also the finer details, like rank squad and company. All of my guns are black, except on vehicles, where I feel like the casing is much larger, and I think that's because it's on a tank. So I'm thinking its a part of the vehicle and I can get away with it. Yes I'll have black on the guns.

 

White is really the main "I'm a veteran" color for these guys. If you're first company, you have more white. Be it the white leggings, or the additional white squares on the DP. The only reason vet sgts don't have the white trousers is for uniformity, which is why they have the blood stripe. Still, it's a color used by all ranks in the gloves helms and belts.

 

Gold is for solid detail. Like you said.

 

Well have to play some games, Eagle one has been dieing to see action.

Where is a good place to game?  I'll be in the Springfield area. Arrive in July and begin the download of household. I will have a gaming basement with tables and terrain available but want to link-up with you and  others in the area. I'm also looking for an Apoc group, I've got an Imperial Guard Brigade (25,000pts) lookin to  take the field.

War Angel, I think the red casings on the lascannons look ace!  You're doing a great job with all these guys, and I love the tribute!  :D

 

White for the small targeters would probably look pretty nice as a spot color.  I would go for red lenses underneath them though.
