Imagine a Chaplain, with all the upgrade possibilities of a Chapter Master, with the stats of Grimaldus, that speaks the "Litanies of Hate" and not the "Liturgies of Battle"

a post-human brimming with wrath... built by faith... trained by the Fury of the God-Emperor himself... and submits only to the Authority of the High Marshal and the Emperor of man....

That Neophyte is a Master of Sanctity, and we had them in the previous book....

@T_O_M:  My "Master of Sanctity" is just what I'm calling the Chapter Master. The MoS used to be one of the Black Templars more interesting characters in the last codex. I like chaplains a lot, so hey, like what's in a name? :)

  • 2 weeks later...

So, after a brief interlude for burning some witches, we return to our "thighs" series, that Brother Andhil might take some comfort at my weak attempts at word play. When we last left our intrepid modeler, he had kicked off the initial stages of conversion for his assault squad. Note, this is the second time he has attempted to write this post, the last was...assimilated by faulty hardware.

For reference, please do see the originator of this idea, Ron Saikowski's article on the "From the Warp" site. Since this is the second time writing this, I'll skip through all the lengthy descriptions, but start off with the statement that this project is about "true sizing" my assault termies. Although the figures end up being about 1-2 mms taller than normal, the goal here is to make the anatomy of the termie more closely fit how a normal human body is put together. Also, I love our plastic termies, but I've never been a fan of the skinny thighs, so this project also addresses that...gap, at least for me.

First steps are to shave away the hip guards and cut down the armored "glutes" protector. The shield guards get in the way of the thigh enhancements and the big butt messes with the back of the tabard. Also, to lower where the shoulders are, about 1/3rd of the top of the connection point for the arms is cut away so that the arms are lowered in relation to the neck and head.
gallery_15184_7227_981148.jpg

Now that I have a base to work from, I'm going to start building out the legs, calves first.
gallery_15184_7227_221311.jpg

Once that is done, I move up the leg and start building out the thighs. Note: One of the things that makes this exercise a lot easier for Templars is that we can use tabards to hide a lot of the modeling area, so a lot of extra sculpting effort is eliminated because it isn't visible in the end state. This will become more evident as I progress. Also, you'll note that my sculpting isn't perfect. If you're looking for perfection, you might consider hanging around the ForgeWorld site, they do this a lot better. However, it will be pretty good and I am getting better the more I do this and at some point can envision sculpting some base models that I would then cast...because I'm one of those that thinks that you can't have too many terminators...or tanks.

So in the picture below, we see "one leg on/one leg off".
gallery_15184_7227_842888.jpg

Now I've put both thighs on. Again they won't be perfect, but the tabard is going to help a lot in this regard. However, what this does is give the figure a more solid looking base (i.e. legs) that imparts a sense of power and...fortitude (?) to the miniature and makes them look a tad more beastly. I like that. A lot.
gallery_15184_7227_125243.jpg

Also, I've added "shirts" to the front of the torso and will continue to develop this (front and back) before getting to the arms and heads.

gallery_15184_7227_443461.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_489890.jpg

These are the bases that they will be mounted on, further elevating them above the mob and making them look even more intimidating.
gallery_15184_7227_54060.jpg

And for the treadheads, some progress on the Ares.
gallery_15184_7227_87628.jpg

I think that's it for now.

Cheers,

Looks great, as usual! Are all them there termies gonna look like chaplains? :biggrin.:

I'm looking forward to the finished result either way!

On a related note:

OH MY GOD THAT TANK IS BEAUTIFUL!

(Yes, I am a treadhead. With a preference for those specific tanks with more guns than crewmembers.)

*All apologies to INXS

Okey doke. I've finished the shirts and skirts phase of
the modeling. All told, I think I have around seven-ish hours of green stuffing
in, might be a little more, but certainly not quite ten hours.

The next stage will be arms and heads, then off to Basecoat Land .
gallery_15184_7227_14185.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_471039.jpg
I wanted the figs to not look static, so I've attempted to put some energy into their
tabards. We'll see if that works as the painting develops.

Also, here's a lot of terminator butts, which shouldn't interest anyone on this forum unless they are Sisters players or worse (i.e. Slaanesh).
gallery_15184_7227_913805.jpg

However, the amount of time that goes into something of
this scale is irrelevant to me, in that it's about creating a
"signature" unit, something that will look awesome when deployed.
Seeing how this exercise went, I'll probably do another one or two, though I
think the next one will be a standard termie squad with some guns to support
this unit.

Remember, there are two Caestus flying around empty at
this point.

And then this happened:

+++ Thye Sylvre Wyches Arye Readaye Fore Battyle‏ +++

So...confident witches...how unusual.

Jefe and I got together for another session
of remedial 40K, this time the points level was 1500. I know a lot of people
play at 1500 points, but I've always felt like it's a very awkward level. I
prefer either 1000 points or 2000 for regular games. I will also posit that I
think 40K doesn't really come into its own until you get to Apoc.

We'll get there.

So Jefe decided to try out a couple of things
and his list looked like (from memory):

Grey Knight Witch COSPLAY team

1 x Draigo
10 x Purifiers with halberds, in a shiny gold witch wagon (Land Raider)
1 x Psychic Choir with a Psyker Primaris, a bunch of witches with headaches in a Chimera
1 x Inquisitor with zombies and big guns in a big gun hauler (Chimera)
1 x Dreadknight (DK) with glowy sword, Sinerator,
and Gatling Silencer

Since we're still in the mode of figuring
things out, Jefe requested that I take a flyer so he could get a feel for what
type of effect it might have.

Good Guys

Master of Sanctity, (Chapter Master), Termie, Storm Shield, Burning Blade
Crusader Squad 1 - SB with Maul/SS, 7 x Initiates (BP/CS), Initiate (PF/BP), Initiate (flamer), 3 x Neophytes (shotgun), in Land Raider Crusader
Crusader Squad 2 - 3 x Initiates (bolter),
Initiate (lascannon), Initiate (plasmagun), Razorback (TL-lascannon)
Scout Squad (First Blood) - Scouts (sniper rifle), Scout (Heavy bolter, Dragonfire), camo cloaks
Vindicator, Siege Shield
2 x Typhoons
Storm Raven, TL-lascannon, Typhoon missile launcher

The board was set up like this. Patrick Stewart came by to help us with our measuring tape.
gallery_15184_7227_466219.jpg

I rolled highest and let Jefe go first. We
rolled Big Guns Never Tire and whatever the long ways set up is.

It has been awhile since I've played against
any IG, so the Psykers with Headaches gig was going to be interesting. However,
I placed my confidence in the Emperor and expected his deliverance.

DISCLAIMER: I will next recount from memory what transpired. Since it's from MY memory and considering that I never let the
facts get in the way of a good story, some events may or may not have taken place.

Turn 1

I rolled to steal the initiative...

...meanwhile, Jefe moved up his golden witch
wagon on the left and got in a good position to cover that half of the board
with his lascannons. The witch wagons moved up, and the DK opted to get into
cover. With all the movement done, the headache witches rolled to drop a glowy
atom bomb template on my Vindicator and...failed their test. The golden witch
wagon rolled both sponsons on the vindicator and failed to penetrate. The
chimera's fired on the scouts, who went to ground, and then...well, let's just
say that two of the scouts looked up after the first chimera shot and took a
couple multi-laser hits in the Oakleys.
gallery_15184_7227_724374.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_910350.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_947596.jpg

The Good Guys moved the Vindi over to the
left to get a shot at one of the chimeras. He did, but it failed to penetrate.
The LRC sidled over closer to the DK, but didn't have any shots. The las/plas
initiate squad and the razorback fired on the golden witch wagon and...added a
couple of scorch marks. Sigh...
gallery_15184_7227_698599.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_33008.jpg

Turn 2

The golden witch wagon holds its position and
the headache choir moves up a bit to try and get closer to the las/plas
initiate squad. Although they do, it's not enough and so the Vindicator shall
be the target of their displeasure this turn. The DK decides to continue its
slide to the right and hugs a large ruin.
gallery_15184_7227_314966.jpg

The headache choir rubs their temples and...misses with their
template of doom. The golden witch wagon hits the vindicator and the razorback,
or at least appears to. One hit failed to penetrate (Vindi), the other turned a
pile of bricks into sparkles (Razorback). The plasma cannon and multi-melta
armed zombies do not hit the Vindicator. The witches sigh...

The Good Guys roll for their reserves and get
both Typhoons and the Storm Raven.

At this point, the Vindicator is just a
little hacked off, though fully feeling the power of the Emperor. Therefore,
the Vindi drives up the boulevard to get closer to the chimeras and loads a
shell with the litany, "Certain Death", on the side.

The DK cannot be allowed to live. The LRC,
Typhoons, and the Storm Raven circle like vultures.
gallery_15184_7227_856219.jpg

During the shooting phase, the las/plas
initiate squad and the Razorback continue to develop the carbonized graffiti
they are developing on the side of the golden witch wagon. The Vindicator is
vindicated and blasts apart the headache choir chimera, killing four witches in
the process of embarkation into terrain (i.e. they took hits from the
destruction of their transport).

The Storm Raven, LRC, and Typhoons turn the
DK into shiny scenery.

Turn 3

The witches are in a bit of a quandary now.
The amount of firepower they are able to put downstream is beginning to wane,
while the Good Guys are on the uptick. With that in mind, the golden witch
wagon holds, somewhat concerned that if the Purifiers get out in front of the
Vindicator bad things could happen. The Inquisitor chimera holds to allow the
zombie gunners to continue shooting.

The headache choir rubs their temples, stomps
their feet, and holds their breath...and fails to do anything. The golden witch
wagon gets a little fed up with all the graffiti going on in the neighborhood
and takes out the Razorback. The other sponson fires on the Vindicator and does
nothing. The Inquisitorial zombie heavy gunners attempt to damage the hull of
the Vindicator and do nothing. The remaining chimera lets loose on the slightly
goofy scouts and secures First Blood...hmm, actually, now that I think about
it, the Good Guys did that last turn against the DK, but that's not how we
scored it. Oh, well.

The Good Guys press ahead. The Storm Raven
flies up the right side of the table making sure to expose the TL-lascannon turret.
The LRC slides over toward the middle objective. The Typhoons slide over to the
middle in support of the central effort.

The initiate squad dots and "I"
further aggravating the golden witch wagon. The Vindicator wrecks the
Inquisitor's chimera.
gallery_15184_7227_402042.jpg

The Storm Raven turret stuns the LRC, placing one hull
point. The Typhoons do not accomplish anything.

Turn 4

The store is getting close to closing time,
so we decide that this will be the last turn.

The witches don't have a lot of options. What
they do have is objectives and so they hunker down and play a holding game. The
headache choir continues to develop their group migraine. The Inquisitorial
zombie heavy gunners continue to shoot like...well, dead people. The golden
witch wagon is not happy that the Vindicator appears to be
invulnerable...again. However, they have not given up any objectives, which is
important.

The Storm Raven pivots and decides to take
the LRC head on. The Vindicator continues to hold, assuming that it is sitting
in the Bermuda Triangle of shooting. The Typhoons slide over more. The LRC
moves up to the center objective and unloads the Master of Sanctity and the
squad standard bearer.
gallery_15184_7227_546165.jpg

The Storm Raven shoots everything it can at
the witch wagon, shaking it and glancing once, leaving it with one hull point.
gallery_15184_7227_550086.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_584845.jpg

Sigh. None of the other shooting changes the situation.
gallery_15184_7227_482006.jpg
gallery_15184_7227_245399.jpg

We call it a victory for the witches 7-4 (two
objectives, First Blood vs. one objective, killed a heavy). In hindsight, it
looks like it was still a witch win, but a tad closer at 6-5 as I think the
Good Guys got First Blood, though I could be wrong on that.

In any case, it was a fun game and the
blizzard of ones that was equitably distributed kept it real interesting all
the way through.

Great game Jefe!

Whoa, baby-blue Chimera's..... Heresy? :ohmy.:

Anyway, sounds like a great game! Land Raiders sure can be tough though. Some of em just don't die.

On a related note, may I just say that your Templars look absolutely amazing on the tabletop! Desktop pics are cool and stuff, but actual tabletop pics really bring out the best in a model imo.:biggrin.:

On a related note, may I just say that your Templars look absolutely amazing on the tabletop! Desktop pics are cool and stuff, but actual tabletop pics really bring out the best in a model imo

Well, thank you very much kind sir! I agree with you and think it has something to do with the light. I am not much of a photographer, so I'm sure that someone who knows what they are doing could actually give you some really nice looking pics.

Regarding the baby blue chimeras, the pics are misleading. It's actually more of a French Blue, which has a lot of grey in it, but that's washed out in the pics. It's not a color that I would have <edit: thought to> pick, but I have to admit that Jefe uses it as an accent color to good effect. It's something that contrasts with all his metals very well and you just don't see the color much. I'm pretty sure that his chimeras are WIP, so we'll how they develop. He doesn't have a lot of time to paint and I think his number one priority is the Dreadknight right now, which is a reclamation project.

Regarding the vehicles, rolling a "1" is the best armor you can have and we certainly did plenty of that. Now admittedly, you'll never see our lists on the top tables of tournaments, but I have yet to see anything that says vehicles, per the all-knowing Intarwebz meta, aren't points well spent. My Vindicator alone received something on the order of 10 shots and survived to take out two important pieces of the GK's inventory. On the other side of the coin, his Landraider received very close to the same number of shots (mostly lascannon and krak missiles) and still had one hull point left at Turn 4 and its cargo safe.

And when the IG codex comes out, I think the need for vehicles will only be reinforced.

Anyway, it was a fun game and we look forward to the next one.

Cheers,

I had a feeling that the blue was altered slightly by the pictures, but I agree, the blue does work niely as an accent colour. It really draws your eye to those models. It's not something I'd personally use, but it works.

Oh, I can't wait for the new IG dex. When that hits I'll either have a field day working on my own regiment, or not depending on new models.  :tongue.:

Oh, wait. How did I overlook your Terminators? I'm usually up to date with all crazy conversion people are doing at home and sharing on this sub-forum. But your Terminators somehow skipped my attention. I just have to say that they look impressive. Congratulations on your courage and determination, if I may say so. I wouldn't start such a big green stuff project, because I'm not sure about my sculpting skills. But yours are amazing. Can't wait to see some progress on those, not to mention to see them finished.

I wouldn't start such a big green stuff project, because I'm not sure about my sculpting skills.

Well, I don't consider myself very talented in this area (sculpting). One of the great things about GS is the fact that it's very forgiving and that you have plenty of time to make adjustments. In most cases, what you are seeing so far is a roll of putty, placed on an area and then shaped with a tool. There isn't what I would call "sculpting" in this exercise. What you do need is a little patience, a sculpting tool (I got mine from a dentist who was going to throw his old ones out) and one of those clay "shaper" tools...which ends up being really important.

So for this project, what you really end up doing is mixing the GS, making a roll (I only do one leg bit at a time, so just enough GS for that), put it on, shape it with my fingers first, then start pushing it with my tools. Then you look at it, asking yourself "Does that look like a thigh?" Yes/No. If yes, do another fig. If no, then continue pushing on it till it gets there. So, it's not as bad as you think.

Also, start small (assuming you'd want to do this). I did a couple single miniatures first (different projects) to get a feel for what needed to be accomplished. After those exercises, I then felt a little more confident in undertaking this work.

The other thing you'll discover is that the tabards hide a great many sins. Not all of my upper thighs are uniform, even on the same figure. However, unless you are really looking closely, it's hard to see that because of the tabard. By the time I get the arms, swords, shields, and whatnot on them, it will hardly be noticeable. Also, I'm not striving for perfection, only something that will get me most of the way there. The next one will be better and the one after that even better. It's about being willing to take incremental steps towards a goal.

I've seen some of your scratch build work. You could do this. :)

Cheers,

Did I miss your T-47 Land Speeders or did you really.... REALLY... didnt show them to us?

They show up in the last picture. Are those the speeders you are referring to?

Indeed. Can we get a proper presentation of that masterpieces?

I was refering to the T-47 Airspeeder:

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120708060024/starwars/images/thumb/9/92/Snowspeeder1-SWE.jpg/250px-Snowspeeder1-SWE.jpg

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120708060024/starwars/images/thumb/9/92/Snowspeeder1-SWE.jpg/250px-Snowspeeder1-SWE.jpg

Well, let's start off with a little background music:

http://youtu.be/HBoxECCK81w

Sooo...the termies are now ready for base coating and onto more serious endeavours

gallery_15184_7227_580381.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_528231.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_852742.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_306907.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_237715.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_511556.jpg

Now everyone above will represent twin lightning claws. I love lightning claws, regardless of what prevailing opinions are. I just think they are cool. Also, I was reading a commentary about close combat and how you as the opponent "could always count on striking first because nobody takes lightning claws."

That just made me smile while making me feel all...

So these guys will be my thunder hammer/storm shields. You'll note that they don't have left arms. I've learned that it's just easier to put the arms together after painting them separately. I still have to put the shields together, as I'll continue the fabric covering effect that I've used in the past.

gallery_15184_7227_331077.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_59760.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_527079.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_144123.jpg

As I used a number of GK components to make this happen, there were places where GW is expecting "things" that I wasn't planning on using, like wrist mounted storm bolters. So, I found some of those crotch guards (?) or whatever they are and put those on the forearms to cover the flat space. It seems to look Ok.

gallery_15184_7227_19632.jpg

And now the base work will begin. I'm hoping to get most of that done before the rain this weekend.

If things go as expected tomorrow, you can look forward to another episode of Witch Wars this weekend (mit der T-47s).

Cheers,

Great looking terminators, I'm looking forward to seeing them painted and with shield. The variety of weapons is very nice too. Helps with the "termimob" effect! Good idea to use of the little shields to cover up storm bolter mounts! They are Besagew, as wiki just told me.. and can be seen on codex terminators for example: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1252499_99120101037_SMCloseComTermmain_873x627.jpg

But they look great as wrist guards, especially along models with shields

I am loving the use of the terminator shields on the arms. Going to loot that. I found I couldn't use them in their proper position on the models if I went too dynamic for the poses, so ended up just using the one on the sarg. Now I Can use the rest! Thanks!

Welcome to another episode of "WITCH WARS, WARS, wars, wars, wars" ...

Each week on EVN, the Emprah's Vox Network, our hosts,
Bawb Arker and Tap Seljak bring you conflicts between free spirited, chaos
loving warbands and the physical manifestations of the Emperor's Wrath, the
Black Templars. Let's go to our hosts now...

Bawb: Well, Tap, we certainly have an interesting matchup
today.

Tap: That's right Bawb! It seems that there's quite a bit
of hostility between these two teams as evinced by a couple of vox
transmissions that we received copies of just yesterday.

+++ VOX RECEIPT: 79ALPHA-023QMZ +++

PREPARE YOURSELF WITCH, THE FAITHFUL SHALL DESCEND UPON
THE CORRUPTED GROUNDS OF COPPERWOOD PRIME AT 1300.000-111513.M2.

AT THAT TIME, WE SHALL BRING THE EMPEROR'S LIGHT TO THE
FALLEN, PURGING THE TRAITOR, THE HERETIC, AND THE XENOS.

WE ARE THE PHYSICAL MANIFESTATION OF THE EMPEROR'S WRATH.

YOU ARE THE UNFORGIVEN.

NO PITY. NO REMORSE. NO FEAR.

+++ TRANSMISSION END +++

Followed rather quickly by...

Dearest supplicant,

The Inquisition welcomes the opportunity to shine the Emperor’s light onto the paths of those of lesser faith. Specifically, disbelief or disparagement of
the stigmata of the mind or divine powers can be construed as crimes against the Emperor. I will dispatch forthwith,to entreat with you via dialog or force as deemed necessary. Have a pleasant solar cycle.

Yours Truly,

Inquisitor Coteaz

High Lord and Protector

Formosa Sector

Bawb: Well Tap, it certainly doesn't look like there's
any love lost between these two teams, is there?

Tap: No way Bawb!

gallery_15184_7227_200596.jpg

Bawb: So what sort of shennigans do you see going on
today Tap?

Tap: Well, the Emperor's finest are trying out some new
tricks, bringing a Land Speeder Storm and combat squading a ten man unit of
scouts. I think I see the same large Crusader squad led by Master of Sanctity
Levi, though I really need to point out that in his last two games, this squad
has had zero effect on the outcome of the game, so he's probably looking for
some heavy activity. The Air Templar wing featuring a Storm Raven and two Land
Speeder Typhoons are back...hmmm...looking through my magnoculars, I see
something strapped to the back of the Storm Raven, but it's wrapped up in some
sort of covering, so it's not clear what it might be. I also see the Vindicator
"Mortis Malleus" over on the sidelines and considering how well he's
done in the last two games, Levi is probably expecting big things from him.

Bawb: What about the Silver Witches, what's new with
them?

Tap: I'm glad you asked Bawb. Rumors have it that a
special star player is showing up to assist the Inquisitor this game, though
the name hasn't been released yet. I've heard that the new player is a fem, but
I wasn't able to get that confirmed. The Inquisitor showed up with his standard
front line, a Unholy Communion Boys choir and some walking dead with heavy
weapons...let's see...Oh, those are new, looks like the Big D brought four or
so of his pals, what brutes, and I see a full squad of the Purities and they
look loaded for bearox with those halberds. The Templars will definitely need
to keep their eyes out for those boys, they look pretty grim...and to top off
this motley crew, there's the "Big Silver Pillar" himself, the
Dreadknight. I know that the Inquisitor has been rather disappointed in his
play over the last couple of games and from what I've heard, he better step up
his play or he may not have a place on this roster in the future.

gallery_15184_7227_654295.jpggallery_15184_7227_648148.jpg

Bawb: Looks like we better get settled in, the referee
tossed the coin and it appears that the Templars won the toss, but have decided
to let the Silver Witches go first.

Tap: That's very interesting, it looks like the Witches
have lined up for a mad dash across the open field and the Templars have sort
of hunkered down and look like they're going to wait and see what the Witches
do.

Bawb: The Witches are rushing in to tee off and WAIT A
MINUTE!!! The Templars have just STOLEN the initiative and come out guns
blazing! This is starting to look like a massive Alpha strike, catching the
Witches off guard.

gallery_15184_7227_338897.jpggallery_15184_7227_526356.jpg

Tap: Did you see what Levi did with his Vindicator? He
had it hiding deep inside that large building out of sight and that Siege
Shield just let him plow right through the ruin and pop out in front of the
Witches, placing their center in extreme danger.

Bawb: The Inquisitor is livid! He's running around in the
backfield looking for a referee, but they're all standing on the other side of
the field giving the Templars the Imperial sign of the Aquila. The Inquisitor
is just fuming.

Tap: The Templars guns are lighting off in a fierce
display of pyrotechnics and now it's looking pretty grim for the Witches. There
goes the Boys choir chimera in a big flash and it looks like the tenor section
did not make it to the safety of the nearby ruin.

Bawb: I don't know if I believe that, the Vindicator just
let loose on the other chimera and although he hit them pretty hard, it looks
like they'll be, HOLY COW! A lascannon just flashed out from the central ruin on the Templars side
and now the second chimera has gone up in smoke. It looks like Coteaz is
missing a couple of his acolytes out of that, but the rest look like they're
going to be Ok. WOW, there goes another flash off to the right and Big D's Land
Raider is rocked on the left side and it looks like the right sponson has been
completely trashed.

gallery_15184_7227_509792.jpg

Tap: Tough break for the Inquisitor, Bawb. With that
sponson out, he's going to have to do some extra maneuvering to line up shots
down the field.

Bawb: DO YOU SEE WHAT I'M SEEING? The Templars have
turned their wrath upon the Big Silver Pillar, but he's fired up his Nemesis
sword and he's gone all Kenobi on the shots. Tap, he took on the firepower of
two Land raiders and only got a single wound. Color me impressed!

Tap: I'll tell you Bawb, that first turn was pretty
brutal for the Witches, but those late moment heroics by Pillar really
lifted up the spirits of the rest of the Witches. I even saw Coteaz head butt
one of his gun servitors. It's a good thing they don't use their heads much
because it flew halfway across the field.

Bawb: So Tap, if I'm Levi, what am I thinking right now?

Tap: Well Bawb, he's got to be pretty happy with the
outcome of his firing, though if I were him, I'd be a little concerned about
Pillar. He held off almost 50% of the Templars firepower and only has one wound
on him. Considering how close he is to Levi's two land raiders, that has to be
a little disconcerting.

Bawb: Right Tap. Also, I think that we should keep in
mind a couple of things. The Witches have certainly taken quite a beating this
first turn, but if you look at the tools that they have left, a lot of their
strength is still in place and to be frank, the Witches are still a force to
contend with. Ok, we're going to go down to the field for a report from Ael
Mikels. Ael?

Ael: Thanks Bawb. I'm standing next to Inquisitor Coteaz.
Inquisitor, that was a pretty tough turn for you, how are you going to react to
the Templars overwhelming display of firepower? Did you expect this to happen?

IC: Well Ael, we just need to focus on the things that
we're good at. I know the Templars are a pretty spirited bunch, so we knew they
were going to come out blazing.

Ael: Thanks Inquisitor. Back to you Bawb.

Bawb: Thanks Ael. Ok, the Inquisitor looks like he's got
his team refocused on the task at hand.

Tap: He sure does, but it seems to me that some of his
players are going to need to dig deep within themselves and find out what
they're here for. He's going to need some of his star players to step up,
deliver 110% and get the Witches back in the game. The swing in momentum after
that last turn was just brutal. The Inquisitor certainly has his work cut out
for himself and his team.

Bawb: Ok, I see something glowing over on the right side
of the field...and now it's gone. Tap,
any ideas?

Tap: Well Bawb, I suspected that the Inquisitor was going
to kick off his offensive on that side so I got a couple of servo skulls over
there and the video shows the Boys choir holding hands and their lips are moving...let
me see if I can get some audio on that...Ok, it's definitely a song of some
sorts...here's the audio feed...<...Do you believe in magic, of a young
girl's heart..
.>, Ok, I lost the audio on the rest, but it looks like
whatever they were trying to do didn't work as the glow has faded. That's gotta
be a disappointment for the Inquisitor as I know he's really loves his Boys
choirs, but they don't seem to be very focused at the moment. Do you think the
Templars Adamantium Will is affecting them Bawb?

Bawb: No Tap. I think crawling out of a burning vehicle
that just consumed the tenor section is a more likely cause. Ok, the Inquisitor
is standing behind his walking dead and he's physically pointing them at the
large building. I can see them firing at a unit in the ruins, but at the same
time it looks like someone from the building has tossed out a pair of glasses.
Not much going on there.

Tap: Well, all eyes on are Pillar now. He's moved out
farther from his cover and is looking like he's warming up for something big.
You can hear the crowd really getting energized by the big windmills his arms
are making and now he's doing some deep knee bends while the crowd noise jumps
up several notches.

Bawb: Ok, he looks like he's ready and he's making his
move... kicking off his teleporter and now he's coming after Levi's land
raider...he's flexing his legs and again and...OH NO! I don't believe it he
stumbled on the field and came up short. Now's he's standing out there in the
open and I have to believe that the Templar gunners are not believing their
good fortune!

Tap: Oh wow, I just saw the Inquisitor throw his
clipboard thirty meters. I'd say he's more than a little disappointed.

Bawb: Ok, the Templars take over and I'm looking back
over my shoulder behind the booth and I definitely hear some sort of engine
noise.

gallery_15184_7227_105470.jpg

Tap: That's got to be the Air Templar reserves coming on
Bawb.

Bawb: You're right
Tap, but notice, the Storm Raven isn't with them?

Tap: You're right Bawb. Levi must be saving him for later
in the game. I wonder what he's up to?

Bawb: I don't know, but they've certainly made an impact
with their appearance. They are firing on Pillars, showing no mercy, but HE'S
TURNED ON HIS SWORD AND HE'S SWATTING MISSILES OUT OF THE SKY LIKE HE'S ON
INTERCEPT! Holy cow, can you believe this, Pillars is taking on the fire of the
entire left side of Levi's line and he's still not yielding.

Tap: That was an amazing display of personal excellence
Bawb. I'm not sure how many shots he took, but by my count, he still has two
wounds left and he hasn't turned off his sword. I think Levi's Vindicator is
looking pretty vulnerable right now. If it were me, I'd be pretty concerned.

Bawb: Wait a minute, what's going on over on the right,
next to the Boys choir?

gallery_15184_7227_1026128.jpg

Tap: Now that wasn't expected. Levi deep struck his Land
Speeder Storm over by the Boys choir and now he's trying to blind them, now the
heavy flamer is taking a turn...wow, is
that the Choir master running out of the building all lit up like a candle?

Bawb: Yep, it sure is Tap...and now just to be sure, the
scouts have un-holstered their shotguns and are blasting away at the last
soprano.

Tap: That was just brutal Bawb.

Bawb: It certainly was, but I'm sure the scouts are just
a little uncomfortable floating there in front of Big D's land raider, even if the
sponson on that side is blasted away. ..WAIT! What was that? Boy that was quite
a long shot, but it looks like Levi's land raider lined up a rending shot on
the Purities rhino and just blasted it. Wow, they're scrambling out of the
wreckage, but they look like their Ok. WOAH, a lascannon flashed out of the
central ruins and there's a five centimeter hole where one of the Purities face
guard used to be.

Tap: I think the Inquisitor is going to be pretty ticked
off and looking for some payback. Getting back to earlier action, the Boys
choir has always been pretty popular with the Witches and they aren't going to
like them being taken out of the action like that.

Bawb: Ok, it looks like Pillars isn't going to wait for
the whistle. He's charging out and he's going after the Vindi.

gallery_15184_7227_515343.jpg

Tap: Did the Inquisitor do any shooting this turn?

Bawb: Not from the looks of it, though the Templar's
razorback has some smoke coming out of the turret and it's heading for cover.

Tap: DID YOU SEE THAT? PILLARS POINTED AT THE VINDICATOR
WITH HIS SWORD AND WHILE THEY WERE FOCUSED ON THAT, HE SUCKER PUNCHED THE LEFT SIDE AND THE VINDI IS OUT FOR THE
REST OF THE GAME!!! THAT WAS JUST AMAZING!

gallery_15184_7227_273727.jpg

Bawb: Absolutely right Tap. I'm guessing Levi is looking
around to see who's going to take on the big guy because if someone doesn't
take him out, Levi's center is going to be in a lot of trouble.

Tap: Ok, it looks like Levi is going to let the clock run
out and both teams are starting to head to their locker rooms.

Bawb: Ok, we're back. I can see both teams warming on
their sidelines and I have to think that last minute smashing of the Templars
Vindicator really had to give the Witches a lift going into the half-time break.

Tap: I think another thing to keep in mind is that the Witches still have two very strong
units who are essentially intact and they are big momentum changers. This game
is still up for grabs!

Bawb: Right you are Tap and now I hear the familiar scream of Raven engines. I think the big bird is getting ready to make an
entrance.

Tap: <ducks> HOLY COW! Can you believe how low he's
flying? For a minute there, I was sure he was going to take the roof off of the
reporting booth!

Bawb: Uh, Tap, what's that smell?

gallery_15184_7227_133108.jpg

Tap: BAWB! LOOK AT THAT, THE RAVEN IS POURING FIRE INTO
PILLARS AND IT'S HAVING NO EFFECT!!!

Bawb: Tap, why are you yelling?...and good grief, open up
a window, I need some fresh air in here.

Tap: Er, once again, Pillars is taking everything the
Templars are dishing out and he's just magnificent!

Bawb: Yes, but it does look like the Templars have
knocked him down to one wound remaining.

Tap: Yes, but here come the Witches and it looks like
they are getting ready for a strong late game surge.

gallery_15184_7227_592067.jpg

Bawb: OH, that was an excellent play, the land raider
doubled down with his machine spirit and immobilized Levi's land raider. That's
really going to have a severe impact on the Templars ground mobility. I know
that Levi was really counting on getting that land raider in the Witch's
backfield. Ok, that wasn't pretty, the Big D's land raider just blew the Land
Speeder Storm out of the sky and now it looks like the scouts are making a run
for it to the nearby ruins.

Tap: It was an interesting play on Levi's part, putting
the Storm in there to take out the choir, but I'm sure he's wondering if the
sacrifice was really worth it.

Bawb: It looks like some of the Purities are moving away from the oncoming Air Templar units,
though there's only so far they can move. It also doesn't seem to be helping
them that regardless of where they take cover, those halberds really stick out.

Tap: Yes, I'm pretty sure the Inquisitor is going to have
a talk with them after the game. I'm not sure what the point of taking cover is.

Bawb: Ok, the Templars appear to be girding their loins, standing defiant in front of
Pillars. Air Templar is moving up again and one more time they are giving it
all they have.

Tap: BOOM, there he goes. Pillars just lost his top and
is out for the rest of the game, but I have to hand it to him, he's had a huge
impact on this game and certainly stepped up his play. I'll bet the Inquisitor
will be figuring out how to fit him into this new role that Pillars seems to
have defined for himself. He's got to be pretty happy with how he played today.

Bawb: Have you noticed? It sure looks like the level of
fire has dropped down a notch for the Templars. I can see them parceling out a
few shots at the Purities, which is annoying them to no end, but the Big D's
land raider is sitting out there in all its glory and the Templars don't seem
to be able to do anything about it. Ok, it looks like the Raven is making a
move to the Witch's backfield, taking out a few Purities along the way.

Tap: Somebody really needs to talk to them about those
halberds, they're just killing them. Literally.

Bawb: Ok, we're getting pretty close to the last minutes
of the fourth quarter and this one still could go either way.

Tap: OWWW! The Inquisitor finally pulled his
"ace" out. Boy, that was just brutal. His little darling Callie, just
showed up out of nowhere and massacred the Scouts. I'm pretty confident when I
say, every time she shows up, there's guts on the fields and broken hearts in
the stands.

Bawb: Well, I tell you, I've wondered more than once
whether she's got black shrink wrap on or body paint, not that I'd mind either
way...uh, did I just say that?

Tap: <silence>

Bawb: So, Tap, what are we going to see here in the last
few minutes?

Tap: <silence>

Bawb: Uh, Tap...are you still there?

Tap: Uh, yeah, I was just uh, thinking. Yeah I'm fine with body paint too. Um...

gallery_15184_7227_1037379.jpg

Bawb: Ok, things are wrapping up here pretty quick, it
looks like the Raven is hovering near the Inquisitor and he's dropped off some crusaders
to tackle the walking dead, while HOLY COW, is that an Ironclad he just dropped
off in front of the Purities? Oh it is and he's fired up his flamers and is
having a cookout. Tap?

Tap: <silence>

gallery_15184_7227_189011.jpg

gallery_15184_7227_641878.jpg

Bawb: Fine. Ok, folks we've only got seconds left and the
Witches are making a run for it. A few of the Purities have run away from the
Ironclad, circled around the Raven and are assaulting the Templars surrounding
Coteaz...and it's just brutal. It looks like those halberds are good for
something. Meanwhile the Bid D has broken away from his pals and crashed into
Templar's spirit squad, leaving the flag carrier to run off...and at the sound
of the air siren, it's Templars 5, Witches 3. What an incredible finish Tap,
for a minute there I thought the Witches were going to pull it out.

gallery_15184_7227_434912.jpg

Tap: <silence>

Bawb: Oh, never mind, this is EVN Sports and Bawb Arker
reporting.
