Got Loki back from the caster's on Christmas eve, here's some pics. I think it's a bit easier to see some things now he's grey all over, although I could really do with a better set up for taking pics, using my phone and a lamp isn't getting the best results. The lettering on the legs is a lot deeper than it looks, for example. Hope you like him:

Amazing.  Really very well done.  You should be very proud.

Out of idle curiosity; does the caster keep the molds?  If and when you finally make five of them, I may be interested in a set myself :tongue.:

Thank you. The caster does keep the molds, but they don't last very long, he gets 20 or less casts from each one. I have had to repair some figures in the past from being cast more than once.

I should be able to make a start on the fourth figure soon, I'm probably going to do a standard bearer next.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

There is obviously some interest in these true scale sculpts Dechande..  Any interest in recasting and selling these?

I do sell them on ebay (PM sent), although I'm looking to get a website sorted as well.

Hello. Back in 2012, I sculpted a Marneus Calgar type figure (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261091-true-scale-terminator-complete-sculpt-now-in-resin-6th-mar/) in true scale that could also pass as a Primarch, mainly due to the size.

I've had a lot of people ask me if I could make it 'more like Guilliman', so just after Christmas I did some adjustments to one of my casts.

I made a whole new head with no bionics, making him look older than the original head. He got a new left arm and shoulder with a sword, I left off the crux terminatus to make it more inline with Guilliman's time period. I added the tabard, long purity seals and 'hip plates'. I had to adjust the pose a little at the waist so he could hold the sword how I wanted in a sort of riposte, challenging manner.

I had some trouble taking the pictures, especially of the head, and included one of the original sculpt although it wasn't quite finished at that stage. The pictures are of the first cast I have had made, held together with blu-tac. The light grey resin is a bit shiny and makes it difficult to photograph.

Comments and questions welcome, I hope people like him.

BEAUTIFUL!

Love the detail, the gesture and proportions are very well done.  My only small note, is the PF.  It seems awkwardly positioned, probably just my own perception, but thought I would mention it.  Either way, I'd love to get some paint on this one!

You are a gifted sculptor.

Thanks for sharing your work.

Ok, rather than starting a new thread each time I complete a model, I thought it best to have one big thread that I can update as I go, keeping it all in one place. Thanks to the help of Captain Semper, my previous sculpting threads have been merged, from now on I'll add new pictures and update the title date.

I find this forum to be a good place for feedback, I'd also like to hear any ideas people may have, so feel free to post them up. I have lots more figures planned, over the next few months, although it's always good to have more ideas than time!

Today I received Odin, Loki and Thor. The quality is unbelivievable. Far better than anything from forgeworld. I think the only company with equal resincasts is anvil industries. Now I have to kitbash them to my needs. I feel like killing of a unicorn:(

I have just got my next model back from the caster's. This is the 4th 'Space Viking', this time based on the Norse God Tyr. He's also the standard bearer for what is now an almost complete command squad, just one more to go, although I have some other things to do so may be a while...

As always, let me know what you think!
