Marshal Argos
Looking Good!! I never really realized how big the newer turrets are compared to the old ones until I saw the pic of all 3 lined up next to each other... Is that a Tau optic sight you have mounted on the vanquisher? I dearly hope not, as I'd hate to have to notify the commissariat.
elmo
Shssss...Stolen from the Astartes. It is the back of the rectangular lamp unit from some tank or other... Nothing to see here... Move along, move along. ;)
elmo
End of the week and the 3 Russes have progressed to the "clean" painted stage which means that they will just need the decals blending in and weathering next week then they will be complete. The 2 Demolisher/Punisher/Executioners are magnetised. Vanquisher Hull no.910 (Command tank) Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner Hull no. 911 Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner Hull no. 912 Punisher/Executioner variants our_baz, duz_, Marshal Argos and 2 others 5 Back to top
WarriorFish
Seems odd seeing them so clean, but they still look great! All the more so with all their weaponry and magnetised bits arrayed out too :tu: elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
As completing the Russes will only take a couple of evenings this week it will leave me with some time left over. I plan to finally desert up my old Chimera along with the 2 Bastions plus, if I get around to it, I have a half painted Skyshield Landing Pad which I have not touched in about 2 years. I will post a new army photo next weekend and this should motivate me to get some serious painting done - but as "no plan survives first contact"... I will have to see what happens ;) WarriorFish 1 Back to top
elmo
Good and bad news... The 3 Russes are complete but due to work commitments I did nothing on the Bastions, Chimera and Skyshield :( There is always next week... Vanquisher, 9th Squadron Command Vehicle. Hull no. 910 Demolisher, 9th Squadron Hull no. 911 Demolisher, 9th Squadron Hull no. 912 The Demolishers can also be converted into Punisher or Executioner variants WarriorFish and Marshal Argos 2 Back to top
WarriorFish
Excellent as always, you just can't beat lots of tanks! :D Weathering really makes them pop :) elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
Trawling the web in a quiet moment and came upon this as a possible Taurox replacement. http://puppetswar.eu/img/p/269-1007-thickbox.jpg http://puppetswar.eu/img/p/269-1010-thickbox.jpg Model is designed to fit 28mm "heroic" tabletop wargames scale (130 mm length, 90mm width, 48mm height) I was thinking about possibly adding a Chimera turret (for the Prime) plus some IG weaponry and iconography... Price wise it is attractive. Thoughts or has anyone got one of these plus is the size about the same as a Taurox? Cap'm Heckus
I need you to buy and tell me so that I can do the same. I'm math challenged so those measurements may as well be in cubits.
elmo
After a bit of digging, the size comparison is: Taurox 110 mm length, 70mm width, 70mm height Taurus 130 mm length, 90mm width, 48mm height Little longer, little wider but much lower - that should be fixed with a Chimera turret I have a couple in my shopping basket for when I decide to commit ;)
WarriorFish
Yeah, looks a little low for the Taurox but otherwise quite cool. Main thing will be adapting it for the appropriate weaponry.
elmo
Just ordered 2 chimera turrets from ebay and will order 2 of the Taurus after Easter. Here is a link to a photo of one next to a Chimera but with the Puppets turret. I have a good feeling about these ;)
elmo
So after about 4 years of being plain green I finally got around to deserting up my 2 bastions and the first Chimera I built for my army... At last - consistency :) WarriorFish, duz_, Marshal Argos and 1 other 4 Back to top
WarriorFish
Looks good, going back to repaint models is always a bit odd but worth it to bring them up to speed on your latest work and abilities :D ... he says still technically not having finished repainting! :P elmo 1 Back to top

elmo
The plans are being laid for further additions to the 711th once the ETL finishes... The snap fits will help boost the bodies I already have to make up a dozen (at least) various HW teams along with my first Manticore :) Still Chimeras, Leman Russes, Hydras, Rough Riders, Preachers, Ogryns and Grunts to do as well... No peace at my painting corner this year :( WarriorFish 1 Back to top
WarriorFish
Peace? The commissariat exists only for war! :D We have even more to look forward to indeed, plus after the magnetising tutorial for the Manticore/Deathstrike I was wondering about giving it a go myself... elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
I don't even want to start thinking about the Manticore while I still have soooo many DA still to paint for the ETL - Bad Elmo! :P WarriorFish 1 Back to top
WarriorFish
Yes you do. You need to plan out all the magnets you need for starters... ;) elmo 1 Back to top
