Your pledge has been recorded by the commissariat Arkley. I'm sure you don't need telling the fate of those who disappoint...

I have higher Masters than the mundane, Warriorfish... But the petition is noted :smile.:

  • 5 months later...
  • 2 weeks later...

All week has been taken up with slowly guardifying the 2 Taurox/Chimera counts as and I have come to a point where I am ready to start applying paint :smile.:

There was quite a bit of filling to do on the model itself then I had to work out how to add a chimera turret which ended up being just a case of glueing a 25mm base underneath to fit in a circular louvre recess on the top of the hull.

A recess was cut into the front of each hull to fit the HB/HF and other IG bits where slapped all over and relevant bits where magnetised as required...

At the moment I am going for a Chimera alternative but will be also able to be used as a Taurox with a different weapons fit.

Spraying will be taking place this weekend so these may be finished by next weekend :smile.:

And another little project I plan to work on at the same time... The start of the 711th Command Squad

Thanks Guys :)

After a week (4 evenings) of being chained in the painting corner, this is how the Chimera/Taurox look now...

All there is left to do is a little bit more detailing, decals and weathering.

Unfortunately I did not manage to paint the hound... maybe next week :)

The 2 new vehicles are now completed but I am travelling this weekend so I will not have chance so upload any photographic evidence :sad.:

On the other hand this allows me to crack straight on with my FW Cadian command squad which I am hoping to have complete by next weekend

This is my take on the Cadian Command HQ Squad from FW less the melta trooper who will be joining another squad and with the addition of a LotR dog (Farmer Maggot set)

Very, very nice work. A few questions:

1. Would you say that it would be possible to paint the completed bodies and wheels separate, then put together?

2. About how long did it take to receive your models?

3. What are you using the Elysian ground sensor thingie for in an IG army?

Cheers,

Elmo, your paint and conversion work is, as always, superb!

One very minor suggestion:  you might want to move or repaint the backpacks you have hung on the sides of your Chimera.  There doesn't seem to be enough color contrast for my tastes (e.g. tan packs hung on a tan hull)

In contrast, one of your previous Chimeras (Hull No. 128) features excellent contrast because you hung an olive drab pack hung on a tan part of vehicle hull.

Alternately, you could just add a bit more wash on the backpacks to increase the color difference between the tan packs and the tan hull.  This exactly what you did with one of your Hydras (Hull No. 144) and it looks great.

Heck, when we hung our packs over the sides of our Humvees in the 10th Mountain, our packs' green never really matched the green in the vehicles' wooden slats.  :)

Feel free to disregard this minor nitpick.

@ Tallarn Commander - I agree that they blend in a little but my excuse is that when I came to mount the backpacks these locations where the only places they would fit so I am a little stuck... I may go down the extra wash route but nitpick away ;)

@ Honda

1. Would you say that it would be possible to paint the completed bodies and wheels separate, then put together?

The wheels are part of the hull casting so that is not possible

2. About how long did it take to receive your models?

About a month if I remember rightly

3. What are you using the Elysian ground sensor thingie for in an IG army?

The sensor thingie is part of the FW Cadian HQ squad - I was going to go down the route of Master of Ordinance or high gains comms node - something like that but at the moment it just looks good :)
