Well, the weekend was more hectic than I would have liked, so I didn't get as much done in the way of painting as I wanted to.

As I'm fond of saying, progress is progress...

Also, is anyone able to answer my question regarding the Sons of Horus helm above? Google doesn't turn up a whole lot of helpful images...

Sorry, bud. I've never bought any FW before so I can't say. As for progress... Every little bit counts.

Is available in the Sons of Horus Legion command set? I see that the standard bearer has it, but I can't tell if it's part of the body or a separate piece.

Looks like it's separate: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/0uPxoABnjo8/maxresdefault.jpg

Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks heaps.

The colours on the biker really pop.

Thanks! I have definitely enjoyed painting him a lot so far, just because the shapes involved in the model are so different from a regular Astartes.

More updates later this week; I've been playing a ton of Evolve so haven't got much more painting done.

Hey folks!

Not dead or gone, just distracted by video games and developments at work that made me worry about job security for a little bit.

Painted up today. Not sure where to go next... Probably start working on the fairing of the bike, if not something completely new...

And this is the direction I'm going with the 'prow' of the bike:

I'm thinking brass-etch wings on both sides of the eagle, flush against the hull of the forward cowling.

Rather pleased with how it turned out. On this side, anyway... I made a bit of a mockery of the other side; excess glue all over the place. Luckily, dried cyanoacrylate looks worse than it usually is.

The weirdest part of this update is that three weeks ago I could have sworn I had really reined in my procrastination...

Anyway, finished this last night:

Very pleased with it, and as I figured, the excess glue on the left turned out to be a nonissue.

Thoughts?

I know I say this every update, but I really do need to beat down on my procrastination.

After all, there's a new Codex out next weekend, and I've only played four games with the current one!

Anyway, this is the last of Huoka for a little bit, I'll finish him off with his head and torso once I've ordered in the helmet I want to use on him.

Looking good so far, brother. Excited to see him finished some day.

I'm curious what you think of the brass etch on the fairing, now that it's painted.

I could blu-tac the rest of the bike chassis together if it helps (since it's all ready to rock).

Yeah, it's a bit hard to tell in pics but the finish certainly looks right. I think my only gripe would be that the brass bits look a little thin compared to the rather substantial head piece. Of course, this makes perfect sense in context. I think it should look fine from most angles, yeah?

Yeah, I briefly considered using chunkier sculpted wings, but decided against changing the profile of the bike by that much.

Anywho, this guy has been neglected for long enough:

So I worked on him this weekend.

Bit of work on the actual Chapter banner:

The blank area in the centre definitely needs more work (probably with sandpaper as opposed to files), and the scrollwork needs to be filled in to cover up the Crimson Fists.

Not sure what to do with the topper, though. On the one hand, the Sentinels are a Dornian Chapter and would very much revere something that still has Legion heraldry on it. On the other hand, I feel it's quite important for Successors to forge their own destiny (so to speak), particularly one that has been around since the 4th Founding. I'm inclined toward replacing it, though I don't have anything in mind.

I, disruptor_fe404, vow on the honour of the Sentinels to paint and present at least one unit of Honour Guard (2 Honour Guard and 1 Chapter Champion) on or before the 15th of December, 2015. I promise to provide at least two WIP updates, with pictures, in that time. I vow to bring honour to Dorn and the Emperor by completing my vow and not failing my brothers-in-arms. Ave Imperator!

Also, hey guys, long time no see.

I will be counting this second squad of Honour Guard as part of my +Vigilant Saviours+ project.

And holy crap, my last post was in July?!

Build pic for IF Ex 3:

From left to right: Honour Guard, Champion, Honour Guard.

And yes, I am aware of one pile having eight shoulder pads and another pile having four arms. No, my Sentinels have not gone mutant! :laugh.:

Anyway, these fellows are going to be the Reclusiam Honour Guard - retinue to the Sentinels' Master of Sanctity. There's probably not a lot to comment on until I at least put one of them together, is there?
