I'm a fairly slow painter and I tend to get distracted and don't get much done so not much of a force to show at the moment.

Some progress. I couldn't get the speeder done for that local contest ended up being quite busy last month, focusing on bike for the time being.

I am sure that you paint faster than me... I have one biker done and another half done.... Chaos has been tempting me.... :D your bike right there is the size of my Angels of Absolution... Wish you luck and keep up the good work.

Hey all, should have updated sooner couldn't get the ETL done this year but this time I kind of had a valid reason, fell and did my wrist in at work, had trouble closing my hand and holding a brush caused my hand to shake... 

 

Anyway back and hoping to get some things done, but I shall be away next week, but hope to get something done by then whether its a small addition or something big.

Thanks, for edge highlights I use Dawnstone first and then a little Administratum Grey for raised edges.

Hey all,

 

So I feel a bit silly posting a week before I went away and not getting much done...... I have got a lot in the 50% finished range so should have some stuff done soon. managed to weather all the remaining units in my force too.

 

Went down to my local GW and pre ordered the heresy box, was a little surprised at the cost when I heard it in the store since I am used to the box sets being around £50-£60, but it is plastic Horus heresy after all so I wasn't gonna pass on it. Also saw one of those plastic interrogator chaplain minis and couldn't help but see that being a new company master (I think I have this odd thing about turning chaplains into company masters) which is the next thing on list to complete a long with a watcher carrying a helmet.

 

Sorry for the bad WiP but will hopefully get this one and the watcher done this week and then onto finally getting some squads done, cant be painting characters all the time.

Now that's coo.l I hadn't considered using the interrogator chaplain as the base for a company master,I had been kicking around the idea of using him as the base for a scacred standard bearer, but on balance I think your company master is a better use of an undeniably cool model.

I wouldn't worry too much about not finishing much when you do have something to show its a treat so I'm happy to wait.  

Did you sculpt the consecrators icon and then cast copies for your shoulder pads?

Thanks for the comment, I am curious as to the standard bearer look now that you mentioned it, when I saw the raised crozius I was just thinking that a sword belonged there and the robes with the arrows remind me of the pre heresy artwork which made me also want this one as a character. As for the icons yeah I sculpted 3 versions; one on iron mk, one on crusade mk and one on mk 7 and then made a mold of all, dreading how I will get them onto the terminators from the BaC box.

 

Some more progress, decided to change the sword up, wanted it to be dark like a heavenfall sword, just a few little details to finish up.

Well your chapter master came from the Reclusium so why not use a Chaplain model...

Now that I can see him properly, I really dig your Company Master! For some reason, the earlier picture of him looked washed-out to me. This is the second conversion of an Interrogator-Chaplain that I've seen and have really liked.

 

The banner does look splendid !

Well whats to say? New darker sword is very nice indeed. And as has been said already the back banner is great. I'm guessing from the heraldry that you are doing a 3rd company force? If i didn't already have 2 company masters (1 done 1 in progress) I would totally be stealing this idea. The more I think about it the more I think I can make the sacred standard bearer work, given the reverence that is invested in the 3 sacred banners it seems only fitting that the bearer should be a bit special. But I do still think yours is a cooler idea (the one I wish I'd thought of first ).  

I have no doubts that you'll do an outstanding job with the BoC Cataphractii, in fact I'm very much looking forwards to seeing them.

And done... got distracted with the new box, think I will paint the Contemptor from it though those terminators are rather tempting, also sorry for the pics, I need to get a new setup for taking them. I changed the sword (again) because I use gore now and then I wanted a sword I could easily apply gore to without making it look odd.

Cool Loving the servo skulls and the hat carrying jawa  Watcher in the dark.  I'll be honest I preferred sword MK2 but I get why you changed it. I takie it with the hat bearer and combi plasma this guy is your Azrael counts as?

 I cant wait to see what you do with the contemptor from BoC. Mine is destined to join my loyalist World Eaters. I keep looking at him trying to decide the best way to get a bit more out of the pose, so expect any good ideas you have on that front to be swiftly stolen 

 Great stuff as ever keep on keeping on.

Made some progress on the Contemptor, combat squad and chaplain on bike but I got distracted... hope it was a good distraction, though I do think the head seems a little low, may need to raise it up.

love the company master. As with all the best conversions it's the little things that make it The watcher carrying the helm is brilliant I cant believe I haven't noticed before that the lions helm is clearly mark 7.
