Assuming you’re posting on your smartphone. When you reply this thread there should be an ‘Add Files’ button at the bottom of the message creation box. Hit that then you should be asked to select a picture. Do that and upload. If you get a size warning try cropping the photo (I do that anyway because pictures of models at arms length require me to zoom in. Which is a huge imposition at my age. ) The Yncarne, ggergnayr and deathspectersgt7 2 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/461/#findComment-6183593 Share on other sites

It is truly the end of an era! I felt the pang with Orks losing some of their stuff but this hurt! My TITH hobby, not really progress on anything as such but I decided I really dont want to paint different coloured helmets on blood angels I will do them as Flesh tearers instead. I remembers back when AoBR was released i started a small force of these then and had played with/liked the scheme more then too and I even bought the transfers! I may go more BA read than the more terracotta colour i went last time though as I quite like the deeper red BA have now. I have the same feeling and eventually decided the same thing. My Blood Angels all get red helmets apart from veterans and officers. I still run them as Blood Angels, they are just MY Blood Angels! Lathe Biosas
Today I went to a game store and stared at the box of Desolation Marines. I almost bought them, again. Jump Pack Assault Intercessors and Desolators are the only two units I haven't bought. They are too rubbish for me. However I did buy one loose Desolator model and a set of Desolator right arms because those are the only open off hands for guns in the Primaris range. Lathe Biosas
Today I got a Dreadnought and attempted test the "lifetime returns" at the local Warhammer store.... here's what happened: Me: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint. Store Manager: We're closin' for lunch. Me: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this Black Templar Dreadnought what I received not half an hour ago from this very establishment. Store Manager: Oh yes, the Black Templar... What's, uh... What's wrong with it? Me: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. E'S DEAD, THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT! Store Manager: No, no, 'e's uh... he's resting. Me: Look, matey, I know a dead Dreadnought when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now. Store Manager: No no, he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable machine, the Black Templar Dreadnought, idn'it? Beautiful armour! Me: The armour don't enter into it. It's stone dead. Store Manager: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting! Me: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up! (I leaned right next to the Dreadnought) Me: 'Ello, Brother Dreadnought! I've got a lovely fresh target for you if you— (The Store Manger hit the Dreadnought.) Store Manager: There! He moved! Me: No, he didn't, that was you hitting him! Store Manager: I never!! Me: Yes, you did! Store Manager: I never, never did anything... Me: (yelling and banging on sarcophagus) 'ELLO BROTHER!!!!! TESTING! TESTING! TESTING! THIS IS YOUR NINE O'CLOCK ALARM CALL! (Nothing happened) Me: Right. (I gave the Dreadnought a shove. It fell over with an enormous metallic crash.) Me: NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A DEAD DREADNOUGHT. Store Manager: No, no... 'e's stunned! Me: STUNNED?!? Store Manager: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Black Templars stun easily, major. Me: Um... now look... now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That Dreadnought is definitely deceased, and when I received it, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged crusade. Store Manager: Well, he's... he's, ah... probably pining for the Emperor. Me: PININ' FOR THE EMPEROR?!?!?! What kind of talk is that? Look, why did he fall flat on his face the moment I got 'im home? Store Manager: The Black Templar prefers keeping on its back! Remarkable machine, idn'it, squire? Lovely heraldry! Me: Look, I took the liberty of examining that Dreadnought when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been standing upright in the first place was that it had been GLUED TO THE BASE. (pause) Store Manager: Well, o'course it was glued to the base! If I hadn't glued that Dreadnought down, it would have marched straight out of the shop, crushed three Servitors, declared a crusade, and VOOM! Straight off to Armageddon! Me: "VOOM"?!? Mate, this Dreadnought wouldn't "voom" if you put four million volts through it! 'E'S BLEEDIN' DEMISED! Store Manager: No no! 'E's pining! Me: 'E'S NOT PININ'! 'E'S PASSED ON! This Dreadnought is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet his maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't glued 'im to that base, 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! His machine spirit is now 'ISTORY! 'E's off the chassis! 'E's kicked the reactor! 'E's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' CHOIR INVISIBLE! THIS IS AN EX-DREADNOUGHT! Store Manager: Well, I'd better replace it, then. (He had a quick look behind the counter.) Store Manager: Sorry squire, I've had a look 'round the back of the shop, and uh... we're right out of Dreadnoughts. Me: I see. I see. I get the picture. Store Manager: I got a Stormcast Eternal. Me: Pray, can I use it in 40k? Store Manager: Nnnnot really. Me: WELL IT'S HARDLY A BLOODY REPLACEMENT, IS IT?!?!?! Store Manager: N-no, I guess not. Me: Well... (pause) Store Manager: It's already painted. Me: Yeah, all right, sure. kabaakaba, Focslain, ggergnayr and 5 others 8 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/461/#findComment-6184539 Share on other sites
Blissful Brushes
I started my first Golden Daemon attempt today! Not sure if I’ve got what it takes, or if I can get to Essen next year, but I am dipping my toe in. It’s AoS so I don’t think I can post it here, (also I think it’s a cool idea and someone with talent might steal it and make mine look pop!) but it involves going hard on the conversions so they look more kindly on my left handed painting ability. kabaakaba, WBRBloom, Kommisar_K and 2 others 1 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/461/#findComment-6184768 Share on other sites

Doghouse
Managed to get this new in the box for my 4th Edition Word Bearers for a sane price. Big fan of this kit and so much easier to convert than the current overly complicated model. I do have the new one but...ugh! Doghouse
I think it's great. Took fifteen minutes to put together without looking at the instructions once. Completely intuitive design and construction with zero gap filling and one of the best kits I have put together in years. I'd be happy if GW returned to this kind of kit. Blissful Brushes
I got some more sorting done from my stash of minis from when I was but a youth and I think I’ve possibly hit the motherload - OG vindicator, not sure what edition, maybe 2nd and metal daemon prince and potentially better than both, if not 40k…the Moria Fellowship of the Ring plinth and a bunch of metal LOTR models to round it out. Been a good day and my office is one step closer to tidiness Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/461/#findComment-6185378 Share on other sites
