You know that feeling when you misplace a model? Especially a character model? Frusturation, anger, sorrow (or am I just too attached to my miniatures?) Well, it's even worse when it's a limited edition model... yeah.

Today in the hobby I realized I have no idea where my 2008 Games Day Thunder Hammer marine is... he's not in my case, as I thought he'd be, he's not on my painting desk, as I hoped he might be, he's just... gone. Not a model I normally carry in my case, either... so yeah. That's something.

Damn, hard pills to swallow. Hope you find him. I completely revamped the way I store minis (incoming are binned and catalogued) after accidentally throwing an unlabelled box of citadel plastics and forge world resins in the garbage -- I'm assuming this is what happened as I could never confirm. The monetary value of what went missing is too painful to type.

Today in the Hobby I went on the GW webstore site and looked at all the pretty, new things and filled my cart with... Absolutely nothing. I guess willpower is a thing? That, or I've been too busy blitzing through Master of Mankind to care about shiny new things. Or cleaning the house. Or feeding the cats. Or showering... Baths; now that's something I can do at simultaneously.

Today in the hobby, I came to realize that my once favorite chapter/legion is well and truly dead to me. Even in 30k they don't appeal to me anymore....The light of Dorn has stopped shining in my heart.

On the plus side: Shiny new plastic Thousand Sons, and my 30k Word Bearers force is getting bigger.

Rogal Dorn is very disappointed in you, Astartes.

Luckily I found him in a box of paintbrushes/tools, along with a squad of Terminators I'd forgotten about. It was... curious, to say the least. No idea what they were doing in there. And ouch. That must have been 'orrible.

Last night, and I do mean night, in the hobby I used my super insomnia powers to paint up my magnetized World Eater sergeant. Pictures might appear in my plog if I don't pass out from exhaustion before there's enough light to use a camera.

Currently treating myself to some tau plogs and galleries as a reward.

YITH I Puled the trigger on a Thousand Sons pre-order. First time I've done that for a while. Also managed to source some MKIII Marines for a Minotaurs-related project and a couple of 30k Ahrimans at bargain prices.

Hopefully the rest of the day might include some actual painting or modelling, but I fear Christmas Shopping (yuk) is going to take precedence.

TITH I freaked out priming my Knight penitent conversion because after all the work I put in my modest conversion, the black layer looked waaaaay too thick and detail was killed to a 90's level ! :o

Darn open topped design I made with all the hidden spaces that required second and third passes!

Thankfully the paint shrunk well upon drying and the model looks good after completion of the process. Minor heart attack avoided by a hair :)

Major heart attack ahead because I was very optimistic on the accessibility of details for the upcoming painting sessions ^^ oh well, it's going to be epic :)

TITH, I too narrowly avoided a heart-attack-via-priming. Outside prepping my Secutarii Hoplites. Went to turn the box they were taped to in my hand to spray from a different angle. Lost my grip, box hit the porch railing, and I watched bits fly off the porch into the scattered leaves below. Took a half hour or sorting and sifting, but every spear, shield, and arm was found.

TITH put the last touch'es on 7 MKIII Marines. looked at my 2nd 5 man Custodes squad. getting another squad of MkIII Marines together. And got a warning from the Mods I've been a bad boy.

TITH I finished the conversion of two IH test models and now I'm fully aboard the 30k train. It feels kinda weird to build loyalists after working exclusively on chaos marines for so many years and I struggled mightily to refrain from putting any spikes or skulls on them.

TITHI Took part in a four player Apocalypse game, Guard and Orks vs two Tau players, Unfortunately the game was called on turn three due to time constraints with a score of 12 to 6 in favour of the tau but due to the fact that the tau were down to under 30% of their starting forces and had a knight errant rampaging through their rear areas along with a few mobs of Ork boys plus a virtually untouched Imperial guard army, We called it a draw:cool.:

Imperial casualties one knight crusader and a hydra:wink:

YITHI built most of a MkIV plastic marine I bought last year. It's actually the first time I've built anything for the Belligeri in months, not counting the Sisters of Silence or Custodes (and I refuse to count them because I've not finished them yet. Awkwardly restrictive models I find, despite their inherent coolth). Will be going to my local GW for some superglue since the horrible 99p store one I've been using is less use than a chocolate fireguard, and see about either finishing the rest of a vet-tactical squad or getting a start on building those Astral Claw honour guard.

EDIT; Somehow I walked out with a White Dwarf and a box of Raptors...this was not foreseen in the Emperor's Tarot. :blink.: Will save building anything for tomorrow when I (hopefully) don't feel like I'm living on Inwit.

Loctite Precision, available in Wilko for £2, sticks everything hobby related at less than half the price of GW superglue!

TITH, I received my order of 40k RPG books from the Fantasy Flight stock clearance. Black Crusade core, Deathwatch Mark of the Xenos (umm...for research purposes only, I swear!)  and three Dark Heresy 1E books (including the Mechanicus rich The Lathe Worlds... <little squee>).

TITH I spent much of the morning despairing over how to source or otherwise mix an extremely precise shade of reddish pink and try and find some Arc Rifles online for my brother's Skitarii. Both without success. :sad.:

Find someone who assembled their Kataphrons as Grav Destroyers instead of Arc Breachers, and get their unused Heavy Arc Rifle bits for convertion (one of the Mechanicus Frater did this for their Skitarii).

Loctite Powerflex is what I use. It's pricier, but after building three Penitent Engines and two Exorcists, I'm sold on it. The first PE I built was dropped about two hours after I built it.

It bounced.
