treadhead Posted December 14, 2016 Share Posted December 14, 2016 YITHI Ordered captain lysander, castellan crowe, and a start painting space marines box the latter for my five year old nephew A: to stop him trying to paint mine when i'm not looking and B: to tick off my sis a bit TITHI Played a 1850 game against a thousand sons and librarian (daemon summoning tigirius) conclave with Magnus total model count 9 warp charge 22 I fielded an ultramarine's cad with a nemesis strike force total model count 34 (19 gk 15 um) warp charge 10 or 11 The game ended turn 7 with one um scout sniper and magnus (down to 3 wounds) left on the table Imperial victory by seven points Things learned Magnus is a beast, lvl 5 combined with casting on a 2+ re(t)rolling ones is just nasty add in the siphon warp charge power to top up the charge pool and he just gets filthy Target prioritization is key shooting the right sorcerers first made the bloodthirster and great unclean one sitting off the table stay off the table Never get charged by a Daemon Primarch it's just not healthy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Halandaar Posted December 14, 2016 Share Posted December 14, 2016 Basically thanks to space hulk 3Rd ed, space hulk 4th ed, deathstorm, and overkill I have way to many bugs to paint in any detail just for visitors to play with and let me bolter... obviously the big ones will get special treatment, but the bolter fodder I would like to be able to finish 100 of em within a week of maybe 7 to 14 hours of paint time total... but be an improvable scheme suitable for the better guys.. My solution the the many-bugs problem was to hit them all with a white basecoat and then just use 3 washes; one for the skin and bone areas, one for the gun weapons and fleshy bits, and one for the carapace. Viridia Posted December 15, 2016 Share Posted December 15, 2016 TITHI I cast about frantically looking for something to use to support my Deredeo's raised leg, something I failed to take into account when I first glued the leg together months ago. Managed to find one of those old snapfit generic sci-fi plates to use as a bunker roof, just need to find plasticard to fill in the sides and maybe wrap a little barbed wire about it. Also manfully resisted the urge to buy Destroyers, another Contemptor, or a squad of Ashen Circle, even if I did cave in on buying an Aiolos Launcher and the lascannon/havoc launcher for my IF's Contemptor. Yet, my table is in the unfinished basement which is getting :cuss cold with the weather. Claws and Effect Posted December 17, 2016 Share Posted December 17, 2016 TITH I slopped some paint on a random assault marine I had laying around to serve as an example of my DIY Chapter's color scheme. I finished it in about a half hour and it's the worst looking mini I've painted since I was 16. Gets the point across though. Yesterday I finally got around to organizing my bitz box with a small compartmentalized box intended for fishing tackle. I also put a tiny bit of paint on my main Raven Guard force. Practice Bass guitar every weekday afternoon, record youtube videos saturday morning, paint saturday night, edit videos and paint sunday.
