Today in the hobby I....

TITH I hunkered down and got my Land Raider with FW spaced armor (:wub:) and magnetized sponsons one day closer to completion.  No paint yet because I want to use it for the HHotE event. :tu:

 

Oh, and I put paint on my Predator turret with ASSAULT CANNONS ZOMG.  I am going to *w e a r . o u t* that tank in 8th edition.  An I mean, it will be a permanent feature in my lists.  Fluff be legion of the DAMNED.

 

I also paid bills today, showing me how far I am away from getting a Corvus Blackstar :(

Tith I sold my b@c boxes and have been talking with a couple of people about buying me out (models, paint, brushes foam board).

 

Its been a good run but I feel better like when I realized that COD games just weren't for me after years of denial and wanting to keep playing with friends.

 

My Mom died a year ago, and one thing I noticed was how pack ratty she had been when I had to clean out her stuff, so I'm not going to be that way for whoever has to clean out my stuff. I've gotten rid of clothes I never wear, my Legos a lot of books.

 

I'm going to buy me a nice bed and a decent toolset.

 

A man I met while I'd been in college who had said one day he had sold off all his games and miniatures and stuff when he came back to school and I think I'm at that point now.

 

I've enjoyed my time in the hobby, though I shouldn't have ever gotten into it. Its been a 8 year distraction and money sink and I'm not going to recover a quarter of what I put in, but I already feel better with what I've gotten rid of.

 

Hate to see ya go man, I appreciated your contribution to the BnC with your Black Legion, but totally understand where you're coming from.  Kinda feeling the same thing - that this game is no longer for me.

TITH I put together a gaming table that is easy to store and set up in my living room when want a game. Very happy with it and I will be painting it this weekend I think.

YITHI Played my first two games of 8th edition, The first was a 50 power score against orks using my GK, The second was a two vs two (50 ps each) with my GK allying with a blood angels force against a tau and orks alliance.

 

I'm happy to report a pair of victories for the imperium, Good start to a new edition

Yesterday we had a 3.6k team game, the last 7th edition battle with that group.

Since my side was xenos and the enemy was traitors and dark eldar, I'll settle for this as a battle report:

Lately in the hobby, I'm still annoyed by Forge World discontinuing the land raider doors I wanted. Sapped whatever little fun I still took out of the Warhammer 40,000 universe even more effectively than the introduction of primaris and the game becoming Age of Sigmar in space.

TITH I moved my old Chapter Master and the rest of the Masters of the Chapter models plus the chapter ancient and the rest of his honor guard to their new 32mm bases.

 

As I moved them, I realized that taking these particular models in a regular game is very low. Makes me a bit sad, but I still love these guys.

Then The Ltd edition Dante book i won ,in the competition Caldersson kindly arranged , it arrived too.

Hello

​Have watched a bunch of guys playing a "last 7th" game. I felt embarrassed to put stuff on the table when the chaos side were getting hammered by mechanicus, and then an Ultras guy turned up and basically filled the deployment zone with over a hundred models. A bit sad.

​Three hours later I still haven't put anything on the table because of the disparity! Luckily I have other things to do while waiting, including painting up an ex-traitor marine plague zombie for a similar thing on Sunday...

TITH... I got the fourth of five Blood Claws to a level of finished that I consider usable (lacking snow effects on bases and Great Company markings)

 

I'm happy, as the fifth of this batch of five will easily be finished sometime Saturday

 

I had decided that for such a big pack (I'm doing up a total of 15 as that's what came in the box) by breaking it down into blocks of five

 

I'm finding it easier to stay motivated and not feel overwhelmed

 

Edit (a little time later): I've finished the fifth Blood Claw as I couldn't sleep. When I crawl out of bed in a few hours, I'll start building the next five. :)
