So I've built Yvrainne, the Visarch, Yncarne (I wish there was an alternate profile for the twin knives, but I built the sword and sigil version), and Valoris. No painting because of rain (even if I do paint the lighting is pretty bad for pictures to boot).

I also tried opening up a conversation elsewhere on the internet about the latest Voxcast and came back to 4 pages of baseless hyperbole and handed out some No Prizes™ to all the people who pulled that one. So many biases and not enough paying attention to the things said even when presented to them on a silver platter. Good job internet. Good. Friggin. Job.

TITH I got a LOT done on my current Primarch Project.

Very nearly finished on him too.

Also: Contrast paints = excellent for doing airbrush-style gradients if you pre-shade with primer

YITHI I didn't do any black legion or terrain but i did finish that purity seal and a squad of bolter scouts for my nephew, which was handy as

TITHI Played a 750 ish pt game against my nephew (my admech vs his smurfs) lists went as follows

Smurfs termie captain, L' claw captain, 5 bolter scouts, 8 intercessors, 10 man tactical squad (plasma and mm), attack bike (hb), redemptor dreadnought

let him do his list out of stuff we had painted up

Admech Belisarius cawl, engineseer, 10 rangers (arc maul, arc pistol and 3 arc rifles), 10 rangers (arc maul, arc pistol and 3 plasma calivers), 10 rangers (arc maul, arc pistol and 3 arqubuses) and a sydonian dragoon (just took all the infantry i had done but none of the murder bots, hence using cawl to make up the points)

I regret to report a defeat for the smurfs but only by the narrowest margins (literally had cawl and a 2 wounded dragoon left), he's very jammy at dice rolling for a seven year old but it seems to run in the family lol

The younger you are the higher the dice rolls, the dice gods have to get people hooked somehow!

TITH, I bought, built and painted the Noise Marine. Y'know, the one based off of the old Jes Goodwin sculpt. This lad. Gonna run him with some Cultists and (eventually) the Chaos half of Shadowspear as a Mark of Slaanesh Dark Apostle for Word Bearers.

Schweeeeeet Zephaniah, love the idea of it as a slaneeshi marked apostle. It's a terrific idea.

Well, YITH I finished up a colour test for Night Lords (kinda)

gallery_107230_14721_22128.jpg

and TITH I did up a Renegades and Heretics Stalk-Russ which is just a slightly longer, larger, Dunecrawler. Thnk for the next one I might have to use a defiler base legs and then maybe that 3rd set can be flamer 'sponsons'.

Because I forgot to post it Yesterday:

YITH I finished Primarchs 8 and 9:

What made you decide to do Curze and Sanguinius first, anyway? They're both great Primarchs, but why those two and not someone easier, like Vulkan, Dorn, Guilliman or Alpharius?

Sanguinius was done first because the version with the display base was only available on the Forge World website for a short time in February of this year, and I'm not planning on going to Texas or Nottingham any time soon. I went with Curze second because I wanted to paint a traitor Primarch, and since I'm starting my Night Lords, I felt it was fitting. My next two will be Russ and Magnus (in that order). Because I'm planning on doing Loyalist/Traitor/Loyalist/Traitor until I'm done with all of them

Also, Sanguinius wasn't difficult at all. Hardest part was actually his base :laugh.: Curze was also pretty easy to do, assembling Mercy & Forgiveness were a pain though (hooray for small fiddly bits!)

Two down, seventeen to go... but gotta do one of em Twice, so got a plan or just... double up? :tongue.:

Seriously mate, they're looking great.  Curze is one I still haven't touched yet.  Oh, and you nailed it, contrasts are great for airbrushing if you've preshaded.  Just... Aethermatic blue takes a few coats :tongue.:

Oh, and TITH, I got one of the 'duo', another Alpharius for a friend that he wanted me to paint up.

TITH, I picked up a set of Dark Vengeance Chosen for my Word Bearers. They're in awful condition (one was missing his pistol, they're all coated in paint, and not in the good way) but I only paid a bit for them, so good enough. I swapped out the arms on one (power axe/pistol) for a chainaxe and plasma pistol, on account of his pistol being busted off, and I'll have to strip and repaint all five of them, but it's nothing I can't handle.

With Alpharius and Omegon, I'm planning on getting two of the Alpharius model, having one unconverted, and then one reposed and modified to be Omegon. Likely based on TheObserver's Omegon kitbash he did.

Also: I didn't airbrush the stonework. I don't own an airbrush. I just painted it over a pre-shaded base of primer  (you can check my WIP thread to see the purely primed base)

Today in the hobby, in the process of spring (well, not spring, but I've got another week off work and I'm making the most of it) cleaning, I centralized all my wargaming books in one spot and realize I can fill a floor-to-ceiling bookcase completely.

I also have several orders of more rulebooks on the way.

I think I might have a bit of a problem.

Clearly the problem is not enough storage space.

TITHI finished another heinously late late shift, but took advantage of the quiet to try out my new Clean Slate paint stripper. Works wonders on white metal, but taking ages on the plastic itself (whether that's because this is an old 3rd ed Whirlwind that's been Ultramarine Blue for nearly two decades or down to the paint stripper is a topic of debate). Also finished reading The Solar War, which was fantastic at pulling together a lot of threads. I hope the rest of the Siege of Terra series carries on as well as this one has.

TITH I tried to organise my bookshelves.

Sorting by edition or even by system wasn't really working.

Just missing one ed of Tyranids (they both look the same so I'm not going out of my way and end up with duplicates), Planetary Empires and Apocalypse Reload, and then I'll have the entire 4th and 5th ed.

2nd is a box that contains all the rulebooks for 2ed including Wargear and all the papers.

6th and 7th not in any particular order atm.

Is one of my Warzone Fenris editions fake? Look at the colour difference...

Codex Compendium is a box that contains any saddleback codices - not shown are: 3rd Codex Space Wolves, 3rd (revised) Codex DA, Armageddon and the campaign from WD that I can't remember the name of.

Quality of the covers on the Imperial Armour books isn't great, considering the price. I'd hoped for higher production quality similar to GW 4ed.

TITH and YITH I started experimenting with battle damage. Redemptor's right leg was the first attempt, looked too much like Borderlands. Left leg was tonight and I like it much better.
