The Praetorian of Inwit
That's one heck of a Wolf Priest! A kitbashed Command Squad for my Firstborn. I did a little bit of shading for the firsttime. Orion
First hobbying in months: Death Rider Commissar conversion. I used the tank commander Commissar, a Death Rider (#4), and the plasma pistol from the command upgrade set. Still gotta plant the feet better on the base (needs more flat spots) And fill some gaps, sculpt out the coat a little bit. I think he's turning out pretty well though. skylerboodie, Sky Potato, Bouargh and 2 others 4 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/437/#findComment-6052142 Share on other sites
Mysterion
On 7/24/2024 at 8:23 PM, Craig said: That's a really good result on the pink. What did you use? My pinks usually take so many layers. Thanks! It's Citadel Fulgrim Pink, I thinned it down on a Wet Palette and applied just a couple of layers. I'm pleased with it so far, hopefully, I can keep the consistency across the other minis when I get to painting them, which will hopefully be next week Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/437/#findComment-6052341 Share on other sites

If so that's a great result. I prime my emperor's children with black then use a couple layers of Vallejo alien purple and then it takes 2-3 layers of squid pink on top of that to get a result I'm happy with. I might try your way in future. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/437/#findComment-6052346 Share on other sites

grailkeeper
Today in the Hobby I beat AndyDavo in a game of Blood Bowl. He's a very big deal in the Blood Bowl world- the makers of Blood Bowl 3 hired him to make the team guides for the various factions. I feel pretty proud of myself right now. KaosRaptor
TITHI realized I used the wrong primer on the Crisis suits I'm working on when I began to basecoat their armour. It's been over a year since I last painted any Tau (aside from Shadowsun, but she was in a different colour scheme) and I thought I usually primed them with grey, but nope! Should've been black. Turns out Caliban green looks pretty different depending on what undercoat you use! On top of that the weather here is currently garbage so I'll have to wait before I can get outside to spray them again Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274679-today-in-the-hobby-i/page/437/#findComment-6055238 Share on other sites

Ace Debonair
Today in the Hobby I took the plunge on buying some more Tempestus Scion bitz (two torsos, heads and legs) so I can use the spare bits from my Scion kits to make two Tempestor Primes. I can't shake the (maybe irrational) worry the new box for Kill Team is going to completely replace the current Scions kit (which will likely be fine, except I fear the legs and torsos will be single-piece and/or too big and thus unusable with my spare T-Prime Coats) , so I thought I'd best grab what I needed while the bitz are still extant. On the one hand, it'll likely be ages before I even get to put the Scions on my painting table again, on the other hand I feel like I'm actually a step ahead with my planning for once, so this is still a small victory. Timberley
TITH I finished my anti-grav conversion for the Hekaton I've converted to be an Ash Wastes vehicle for my Van Saar. I just need to put in the driver and 'adjust' the console to fit. I also learned (though I should've known) that whilst nail-varnish remover can get rid of super glue if you happen to stick in a magnet the wrong way round, it melts the plastic too! Brother Carpenter
I found my lost lr prometheus alongside the oop metal sm comm squad, accompanied by my lost bt metal special ed marshall, my lost ls typhoon and my lost sm metal commander who commanded the troops during my first unstable steps in the hobby in 2000. It's a commander with bolter and bionics. So happy. Cleaning out the attic was never so much fun. Mysterion
TITHI - I played my first two Blood Bowl (Sevens) games outside of practising the game (but still with a little guidance), I won one and drew one, we avoided over time due to real-world time constraints. I uploaded a progress pic of my Skaven team in this thread previously, I'm pleased to see them on the field finally. Doghouse
TITH I started my 4th edition Witch Hunters army today, I'm currently working on Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. It's been really fun digging out my old codexes and rulebook and finding my old Gorkamorka and Mordheim rulebooks, reminds me of much more creative times in the hobby.
