Can't sleep, so here we go with a second Vow...



I Mystech1 answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete

-Swd. Brth. Termi. Command Squad w/ 5x Terminators; Srgt w/ Power Weapon, Master Crafted Storm Bolter, and Bionics; 1x Chainfist; 1x Assault Cannon -245



from Codex: Black Templars of total value 428 points on or before August 15th. Success will bring eternal glory to The Black Templars and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end.



Oh, and since I failed to complete my initial Vow by July 15th, as penance these will be painted in my DA successor Chapter colors. ermm.gif

That's fantastic Urkh - a total contribution of 1,323pts! Well done - you served the Templars well... Completion registered.

 

Now it's only Brother-Captain Sicarious and Mystech1 who have an outstanding second vow - all the rest are 100% completed (unless we have another vow in the remaining few hours). Mystech is in touch but Sicarius? Are you out there Brother-Captain?

I answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete:

 

1 Marshal (artificer armor, mastercrafted weapon, powerfist, storm shield, teleport homer, terminator honors) 175 points

8 assault terminator sword brethren (5 with thunder hammer and storm shield 3 with lighting claw) 360 points

5 crusaders (bolt pistol, ccw, frags,) 85 points

5 assault marines (2 plasma pistols ccw, the rest bolt pistol ccw, all with melta bombs) 152 points

1 emperor's champion 90 points

 

a total of 912 points on or before the end of ETL II

 

Success will bring glory to The Black Templars and the incomprehensible result of failure will doom me to carry the badge of shame

I need to take a rest and a sleep (one marine is without backpack in the picture, because I'm unable to "reglue" him right now, I need to unstuck my glue that got a toothpick and years of plastic glue melted on it, soon I will post it glued if necessary, I'm painting since yesterday nearly nonstop, must sleep >_<)

Since it doesn't look like Captain Semper is updating this thread's original post with these, I don't know who's left...

Due to my own laziness I probably won't have my vow completed on time, but who knows, maybe I can focus in these last few hours and turn this around.

 

Either way I'm really disappointed in myself. I've had this vow almost complete since June, but I've managed to push it off constantly. I even had 4 more vows planned out to get my entire crusade painted. Then when I decided to at least finish this vow after work this week, I have trouble with my paints. I guess it's the Emperor punishing me for my procrastination.

Do what you can brother.  If you cannot complete your vow, do the right thing, wear the mark of shame, and try again for the ETL III, and approach it with renewed zeal as you begin a "penitent" crusade.  If you can get it done, get it done.  You have a few hours left, try your hardest!

Brave brothers and sisters, it’s time to remove your Oath of Moment for the moment has passed. It will soon be replaced with either the Custos Fidei or the dreaded Oath Breaker badge! Thank you all for participating - it's been a fantastic ride !

In the next couple of days I'll be compiling the data of the ETL II, cross-checking everything making sure there are no loose ends. During that time, you are welcome to post here anything that you feel requires my attention, be that an old completion that I did not explicitly acknowledge or anything else you may like to comment on. I will NOT accept any more completions though. None whatsoever!

Come this weekend, (most likely Saturday, August 19th) a full detailed report will be released and all the details of the ETL will be analyzed and be open for discussion. All participants will be awarded their badges and the faction to become ETL II Champion, the Primus Inter Pares, will be officially announced. So until then keep your breath for who know what really happened?

Well done to all who completed their vows. Sadly though we are nowhere near last year's completion rates, from 3 of the biggest unfinished vows there comes a total of around 9k unfinished points. It'll be interesting to see how we fared in comparison to Codex Marines and Chaos. If we lost to Chaos... time for some penitent crusades, methinks!

Was this from going through the thread, or reading the initial post? Because the Initial post doesn't reflect a lot of the newer changes.  My first doesn't even show as complete, let alone my 2nd!

Unfortunately I have failed in my task and my brethren can be rightly disappointed in my performance. My biggest crimes were to be too ambitious in my planning and too easily distracted with the persecution of xenos, mutants and hertics leaving me little time back at the forge ship. I realise now the benefit of the multiple vow system, for I could have completed several smaller vows. However, being a Black Templar commander has brought me up with the idea of but a single vow, and that has been my undoing.

However, while my brethren may not agree, I do take some sense of victory from this failure, as I have in fact painted a lot more than I would have done otherwise. I believe I will have completed the remaining units before the new codex is released, and in that fact lies my redemption, for a new crusade is forming, and with it a new vow will be sworn.

I, Marshal Kaliburn, hereby declare that under the new 6th edition rules for Black Templars, which are believed to be released in the coming month, my army will never take to the field of battle with a model unpainted. Although their identity may have been diminished by their inclusion in the new space marine book, in my home town the crusade will continue with pride, and with one look at the army my enemies will instantly know who they are facing and how they will meet their end.

So close, brother!  

 

Fear not.  We, as a Chapter, didn't have the motivation/drive this year like we did last.  I blame the fact that everyone who participated last year vowed basically everything in their collection.  There wasn't anything left for this year ;)
