Hello again, daily update. My 2nd Vendetta is goin' good, it needs some love on the pilots and on the metal parts like the engines and the landing thingies that I don't remember their English name :)

Update. While working on the 2nd Vendetta (and playing Apocalypse tongue.png) I've started testing the same color scheme on the allied Dark Angels successor chapter of the Guardians of the Covenant. The scheme will be the same desert color for the vehicles with red and green chapter icon: a red sword over a green shield. I'll probably take the first test of the icon today.

This is the test razorback that I'm painting, as you can see the result is pretty much the same of the Vendettas smile.png

Neat stuff here :)

I'm not so sure about the Chapter icon you're talking about.  Red and green don't have a lot of contrast, so one on top of the other might not work well on smaller pieces.  I'd try maybe a quartered or halfed red and green shield, with a bone/sandy or plain white sword in the center.

Just my two rupees.

I agree with Firepower's rupees, red and green aren't the best colours to slap together in a small logo. That and it always makes me think of Christmas Marines...

Black and red maybe? What about a dark blue and another colour?

I think the Vendettas are awesome. I really like the guardsmen in the base, it looks as if the air support comes just in time to defend the perimeter...

So is your Chapter a Successor of the Guardians of the Covenent? If you got any background on them, i'm sure people in the DA forum would love to hear about it! Not to mention the Liber Astartes forum... msn-wink.gif

Heya, thanks for the replies. For the Chapter icon, I'm trying to pull out something that reminds the Dark Angels typical green and the red that identifies the Guardians of the Covenant robes, and being "guardians" I thought that a shield would be a nice emblem. I like the idea of the shield half red and half green, I'll try to work on it too smile.png

For the fluff of the army, I'm writing down a little "campaign" that involved both the Chapter and the Elysian into a conflict on a small desert world, I'm still writing it down and translating it into English, I'll post soon on the Liber Astartes forum but here you can have the preview smile.png

The Sky Clash - Chapter 1

Also, those are the first Space Marines I had already painted for the Guardians of the Covenant, I'll keep this scheme for the infantry (probably I'll go for something different for the Terminators)

I named this intervention force "Edemos Hunting Brotherhood" as the hunting of the Fallen is their task.

You should get a good number of Tacs like any self respecting Marine player, but I'm pretty sure you're breaking some by-laws about collecting Dark Angels if you don't get some Deathwing. With how cool they look how could you resist?

Let's not beat around the bush; you want to get some as much as I want to see them

Well I already have 40 Tacs from Dark Vengeance, 5 scouts, 5 devastators, 20 Termies, 15 bikers and heroes, 3 Land Speeders, 1 Darkshroud, 2 Razorbacks, 1 Rhino and 1 Predator. They just need... well... ahem, to be painted :D

Update! I need your advices about how to continue the Guardians Razroback :\ I really can't find anything to make it look more like a Space Marine vehicle

Well I'm thinking about where to paint the chapter emblem and well, some DA iconography won't be bad at all. Fortunately this RB is just a test and the next one I will paint will probable have a dozer blade and the DA FW doors (which I've already mounted on the Land Raider Crusader :P)

Chapter emblem on the top door hatch, the front armor, a tiny one on both sides (not necessarily on the hatches), and other iconography like checkers or numerals scattered about to keep it from looking like a Color By Numbers tank.  Simple :)

Yep, I think I have now an idea on how to complete it before the weathering. Thanks both!

Update! I've been working on the base colours of the RB, and besides metal areas and searchlights I can say the model is pretty much okay and ready to be weather'd. I will just need some free-hands writings near the decals so it looks more "complete" (also the areas near the decals looks wet because of 'Ardcoat on it, it's not a mistake tongue.png)

It's really starting to come together nicely. I can see some mould lines on the top of the exhausts though, but since you've not got round to painting them yet it will be easy to fix them up. If you're really keen like me you can drill them out :P

Yes the model isn't perfect I admit I didn't work a lot on the mold lines but also all the top of the razorback isn't glued, so it can be taken off to show the interiors (if I will ever paint it :) ). Probably after all the weathering it won't be noticed as now (at the moment the model looks really flat). I can't really wait to have it finished so I can see the result of the weathered desert camo on a Space Marine vehicle too!

I can't place my finger on it, but I don't like how this tank turned out.  It's something about the balance of the colors, but I can't tell if it's the wrong shade of brown, or the red or the green, or just the placement of them, but it looks...wrong.  Like the colors are out of sync, if that makes any sense.  Not quite complimentary, not quite contrasting, but some uncomfortable halfway point between them.

Ah well.  Can't knock the paintjob's quality, at any rate.  The weathering is very fancy, and nicely executed :)

Thanks for your feedback Firepower, I appreciated. From my point of view, I'm quite okay with this test model, I think it will nicely fit in the ranks of the SM/Elysians. :)

Next to come: finish the 2nd Vendetta!!!!! I was too lazy to paint the cockpit and the metallic areas and I left it there, in a lonely corner of the room. Gotta give her some love, soon.
