Such a shame with that dark blue wasted on the misguided followers of a corpse msn-wink.gif

Lots of character to your smurfs. Do they sing while going about their tasks?

Only when they go sailing. Drunken Sailor is a common shanty among the CXXIX, and quite popular with the Moritat.

Evening Vazzy!

Thought I'd stop by to see what's going on, on the other side.

The ultras are looking great! I absolutely love that Moritat conversion. Would you mind making with a part break-down for enterprising imitators? ^_^

You can tell a Drunken Sailor spelled those lyrics by the "his" where it should be "he's". tongue.png

@Flint13 Thanks. And yeah I can give the breakdown

The Pistols are from the Sternguard and Sicarius kits, with the body being from the vanguard kit as well as the Helmet and Jump pack. The crest is from the Sternguard kit as well and the cape is Anvils.

@Jaspcat Much appreciated brother, I do try to please my Primarch.

@ Kol Yeah man. I have the Lyrics memorized. I'll leave two hints as to my next update. I've been playing Dishonored a lot, and a song stuck with me, and on Talassar, the oceans are a dangerous, yet fruitful place to recruit from.

Oh, those hints are so, so, so, so, so small. msn-wink.gif

Look forward to seeing how they pan out.

Last recorded Vox account of Brother Castiel
"I-I don't know what it is. It's fast. Bolters can't touch it. It tore through the survivors. We-I. DIE! "
[Garbled screams and rhyming recorded. Too distorted to hear]

{Pict Capture//Alpha//Delras//Legionary Mickael and Gabriel\\}

Delras/Calth Mark +2:34:16

M
ickael and Gabriel moved through the city at a loping jog, aware of the slaughter going on around them. The sky burned a dark, blood red as fire lit up the clouds that covered the city and cast a dull gleam onto everything it touched. The two Ultramarines had been on the run since their squad had been ambushed in the museum. A small voice rang out from the bundle Gabriel carried,”Lord? Where are my Mother and Father? We are meeting them right? You said we were!” Gabriel looked to Mickael, the older Veterans scarred face twisting into a grimace at the child’s question. Luckily the boy’s older sister, who nodded her head at the statement, saved the Marines.

The small group had originally made for the hangar located about a block from the museum, but had instead encountered the Word Bearers all over the place, and had been driven back from the gun cutter located there. For the past two hours something had hunted them, it’s yips and cries bloodcurdling in a raspy way. Twice Cassandra had sworn to see the thing, describing it as a tall shaggy thing with glowing eyes, and fangs like sabers. Gabriel hoped she was exaggerating, but somehow, instinctually knew she was not, and suspected greater things were afoot.  The odd sigils adorning the XVII armor, the unnatural fog that had taken over the city, and the maddening screams that seemed to be everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time. It reminded the Legionnaire of the stories told to him by superstitious sailors, of ships whose Geller fields flickered, and left it’s mark on ships. He’d always scoffed at the fools, but now questioned if perhaps there had been some truth in the myths and legends of old. He slowed to a walk as Mick came to halt, and crouched over the prostrate form of a butchered XIII legionary.

“It’s one of ours,” the man sighed, “Castiel, by the I.D. chits. He’s torn to :cuss. I have no clue what did it, looks almost like Lightning Claws, but there’s no cauterization consistent with powered blades…”

The small woman knelt down next to the body, and examined the cuts, with an almost professional detachment. “They- well they appear to be similar to the claw marks of some sort of large beast, likely feline in origin. But Calth has no Mega Fauna native to it, so perhaps the XVIII introduced them? But what?  A Carcharak maybe? No, no the gashes to large, and Carcharaks are vegetarians in any case, we wouldn’t see any flesh eating like here…”

The sound of distant bolter fire jolted Cassandra up, and she grew quiet, allowing her protectors to form a defensive Phalanx around her and her brother. The cry that had stalked them in the dark rang out again, sounding merely mere meters from the pair. As Astartes, they Knew No Fear, but at that point, perhaps some measure of it snuck back into their hearts as the Glaber children were scooped up roughly and carried on running limbs.  Christian wailed in terror as the cries followed them, accompanied by manic laughter and promises of pain and death.  The pair sprinted into what appeared to be a side alley, only to realize it had once been part of an Amphitheatre, and there was no where to go.
Gabriel stared in horror as he realized they’d doomed themselves. Around them, crucified and Flayed bodies lined the walls, and he realized they must’ve stumbled into some sort of Sacrificial altar.

Suddenly, an overwhelming sense of Nausea overtook him and he saw what had stalked them.  It loomed in the door way, and giant shadow beast,  pale of skin, but stained red with the blood of his brothers.  It stood on two spindly legs, hunched over, it’s arms dragging just above the ground. The thing grinned, or, what could be construed as a grin in its case. The lower half of its face was matted with blood and gore, and the life stink of Space marine blood trickled from its talons. It slunk forward, gliding from shadow to shadow, nearly impossible to track. He heard the humans audibly vomiting as it drew closer, cackling to itself.

“Yes, Yes, Mortal Flesh. Tasty man flessh. Skin for wearing, skin for tearing. Huehuehue. No need to hide, just gobble up your hide, Ahehehehe.  Pathetic mortal things, He Who Walks Here and There has found your souls!”

Then as if in answer to the things claims, something answered in a low voice, tinged with amusement.
“No Cliz’yati,it is I who have found you.”

Without warning, two round objects dropped next to the thing, blinking twice before exploding in a burst of radiant white light and crawling flames. It screamed, a wailing cry of pain and anger, and ran for the door before disappearing completely. In it’s wake, six armored figures dropped from the ceiling, their blue armor stained a black, and grinning skulls painted all over them, with a practically garish visage gracing the face plates. Gabriel also noted the tanned hides adorning loincloths and the crucified Word Bearers, around the room and realized what he was staring at.
 “Carnifex…” He sneered.

Their leader, a figure in cobalt blade and a bloody cloak smiled as he removed his helm, revealing the branded face of a pirate, and filed shark teeth of the 129th ‘s dark side.
“You wound me brother. We ghosts merely live to serve. With I, Tadras Fidelitas at their head.”

"The Carnifex, or Ghosts as they are more commonly referred to in the 129th company are members of the Ultramarines Destroyer Cadre. They are shunned by nearly every company for reasons beyond dislike. Their leader, Tadras Fidelitas was a known pirate and raider  on Talassar before his forced abduction into the XIII. His Squad, the  self named "ghosts" were all part of his surviving crew members who lived through augmentation. Arrogant and bloodthirsty, it is a wonder how these six men not only passed the rigorous training regime and geneseed implementation, but also have lived through the various grinding campaigns they have been apart of. It is likely that this is due to Tadras older brother Fidelitas taking the Ghosts under his wing, as well as their half century tenure with the VIII legion aboard the Cruiser "Venomous Indignation". It is suspected that this led almost directly into the trophy taking and darker practices of the Carnifex that would come to full fruition during the Underworld War."

{Lord of the Carnifex Tadras Fidelitas.

Born 20 years after his brother Luciel, Tadras rebelled against the society he was thrust into, and at 14 fromed a pirate crew amongst his compatriots. For two long years he raided all along the coastline until the Talassar Navy, aided by XIII SCout detachments ran him down. He and his crew, considering their skill and noble lineage were offered a choice: Attempt to join the Ultramarines, or die. Tadras and his crew chose the former, and quickly joined the crew of the 129th company. Tadras grew quite close to his Cousins among the VIIIth legion and values them as some of his closest brothers.}

What's not to love?

Pirates, Destroyers, the Blue & Gold! Great stuff, man. Very fitting song, too.

Yep. And the little touch from Dishonored?

Question, was the Dresden Files reference intentional? Because if so  and if not, what a coinky-dink!

No big fancy update tonight guys, need some primer first.... but I put together these guys for my 5k game next week. A legion recon Squad....

I was hoping for opinions on him. Noctus had mentioned more camelione and is probably right but I'm scared to try it. Anyways, here's Recon Sergeant Kyel with Artificer armor and a sniper rifle.

Hadn't stopped in here for a while. Looking snazzy Vazzy. You've done the Ultramarines proud. Sorry to read about your troubles with the Storm Eagle. That's my favorite among the FW kits, but all the horror stories have put me off.
