I am hoping to set up my light box sometime this week to get a few decent pictures, I ordered some proper bulbs last week so hoping they will work out nicely!

I probably will do the Gal Vorbak, but I may throw in the odd ultramarine to mix it up a bit!

Thanks Sockwithaticket!

Well, work has started on my second Gal Vorbak!

Apologies that the picture is quite dark, I don't have a decent lighting set up at the moment and well... I live in the north!

Ta man!

Two pictures of my WIP Gal Vorbak from slightly different angles.

Pretty intimidating models these because the detail is so high I find myself trying to understand the model. Which is even more difficult because it's warped to hell and back, and probably not meant to be "understood".

Generally speaking I am happy with it so far!
Well, technically this is "finished". I may re do the fire and the text on the book needs a little more work but I am running out of time and need to crack on with some more "real work".

Apologies for the dark photos, I will set up the light box soon and take pics of the bikers and the gal Vorbak ASAP.

I am not really that happy with how this turned out, it's a little rough round the edges but I simply don't have the time to dedicate to it as much as I'd like.

Ah Well either a Space Hulk terminator or a more Gal Vorbak next!

Looks great, although I think it could have looked even better if the flames had been a more etheral/warped colour to stand out amongst the red power armour. And I just noticed that you can see the marines right eye under the warped helmet, that is a really nice detail.

That guy is a real brute. The grey bone spurs are a nice cold and neutral touch to bring to an otherwise warm and vibrant model, somewhat ironically that makes them stand out more. I think most examples of Gal Vorbak floating around on the web use some sort of non-traditional fire colour which could explain why it can look a bit off to use normal colours. This looks fine, though, sufficiently different in colour and tone to stand out from the armour. I would say that the black tips are a bit stark and the transition from orange to these could be smoother, maybe a red would have sufficed? At the same time I'm not a fan of black tipped flames anyway as a technique, just a personal preference,

Stellar work all round as usual, though.

I'm excited to see all of your Gal Vorbak finished. I absolutely love the sculpts and I also love the amazing paint jobs you've done so far. The one on the far left of your last pic is my favorite of the five sculpts so far. There's just something about his left arm that's positively "wrong" in a good way. Do you mind if I ask if the bits that are molded separate from the bodies, some of the arms for example are interchangeable between the 5 body sculpts? I was also wondering if any of their heads were cast seperately from the bodies? I want a squad of 10 at the very minimum for my WB and I'd like to make them look like individuals as much as possible.

It's a bit of a mix really. Some are separate others are already sculpted on. However they all seem really easy to convert!

How do you paint your reds? Im trying to get a good red colour for the WB but having some trouble?

I'll have to pass on this. I get asked this a lot so I am going to do a guide for it soon. However here is a list of paints I use in the order they get used:

Scab red (khorne red in new paints?)

Nuln oil

Scab red

Mephiston red

Blazing Orange (no idea what the new version of this is called)

Sunburst Yellow (Same again)

80/20 White/blazing orange.

Hope that helps :(

Thanks Ppotts! :D

Work continues on my Gal Vorbak!

Pretty happy with this guy, tried to mute the silver a little and I think it turned out okay!
