I think you may be right Jasp. While I am enjoying painting my Guard, I can't help but feel I'd rather be working on some Marines instead. Don't tell the IG sub-forum! :P

Finished my Command Squad for my vow after being distracted by some filthy Xenos. I'll be working on the 5 Stormtroopers next before I tackle the Valk.

Thanks. The Stormtroopers are really nice models and they are fairly detailed too. The Commissar was just a quick, fun conversion so he'd fit with the Stormtroopers.

I finished my ETL vow last night. This is the first time I've ever successfully taken part and completed an event such as the ETL. :)

The ironic thing though is that I switched colour scheme halfway through meaning I need to strip the Command squad and re-paint them. :P

My girlfriend bought a camera today and so naturally I ran off with it to get see how well it photographs my models. Pretty happy with the pictures and also with how well my painting stands up to a more detailed inspection. :P

Managed to finish my Njal model today (using as a generic Priest) . Was a fun model to paint but it was riddled with holes and miscasts and the bloody staff just refused to straighten out. 

Ah well, most of it isn't visible unless the model is inspected closely. :P

Was fortunate enough to receive an Imperial Knight for my 24th and decided I'd try to push the boat out with converting the model and its base. That naturally meant hacking up a painted Trygon from Tyranid army. :P

Progress on the Knight. 

Still need to paint the armour plates such as the shoulders and shins and also need to design some heraldry and freehand it on to certain areas.

Oddly enough all the time I've been painting it I was thinking of your army. Turquoise is a really nice colour to work with. ;)

If you don't want it to look pastel, use space wolves grey mixed in for highlights. Works nicely.

 

I'm trying to resist using the colour now but it can work really well.

 

And you should be happy with that window. So many would just go for a glaring osl. Funny that something so small can draw your attention though.
