Mortarion24
When you have the time can you post some detailed info on the new primarchs and anything about the Deathguard (new units?) Kol Saresk
World Eaters gain hatred outside of their deployment zone and must always attempt to make sweeping avances. All models must reroll failed pinning testa dn reroll their run roll results of 1. They must take an additional compulsory troop choice, may not take more vehicles with tank or flyer type than they have infantry, may only have a single consul and can't have librarians, may not have fortifications or allied detachments. Well it's said they any units assigned to Salamanders would consign their self to death as the legion would sell themselves and any allies to achieve their goal and prove their victorious reputation. Terror squads cause fear, have infiltrate and preferred enemy (infantry), raptors gain D3 attacks when they charge instead of 1. So they get Infiltrate, +1 cover for the first turn and a Night Fighting advantage when using the Rite of War? Holy Crap. Stupid question, what exactly counts as "preferred enemy(infantry)"? Brother Captain Lucian
Quick question - what are the salamander special units? Pyreguard + Pyroclasts? Firedrakes? Kol Saresk
Infantry = Any troop Please pardon my ignorance. So basically anything that moves on foot and isn't some type of walker/vehicle? Even Astartes? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281128-book-2-massacre-any-more-info/page/2/#findComment-3479563 Share on other sites
DuskRaider
Pretty much, from what I understand. Even Terminators, I would think. Verity
Yeah it's basically all foot units that aren't Monstrous Creatures, Cavalry or Bikes - that includes jump infantry, terminators etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281128-book-2-massacre-any-more-info/page/2/#findComment-3479575 Share on other sites
Emperor's Furor
Salamanders get pyroclasts which have fancy flamer weapons, they can basically switch between a flamer and a short range melta weapon, they also have 5++ save against flame weapons. Standard 2+ save to, heavy support option. Firedrakes are elites count as scoring units and can be chosen as a bodyguard for a praetor. Vulkan has 2+ and 3+++ save and halves strength of plasma, flame and melta weapons against him. Has a fancy weapon that is ranged 18 and u draw a line, ap 2 assault rending weapon, it's the one made by Ferrus. Has a fancy hammer which lets u exchange his normal attack for a blast marker which is str 8 ap 3 hits automatically and has strike down rule. Kol Saresk
I think I'm in love with these Terror Squads... although I'll have to wait until I see the minis Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281128-book-2-massacre-any-more-info/page/2/#findComment-3479579 Share on other sites
Emperor's Furor
It also appears Salamanders had dark green armour prior to Vulkan turning up, they also used a saturnyne ram (head) as their earliest symbol. they also never recovered from a massive war where they lost 19,000 men over the entire campaign being left with 1000, because of their style of combat despite gaining new marines they'd lose them just as fast as they'd get them. I think I'm in love with these Terror Squads... although I'll have to wait until I see the minis If it makes a difference I loved all the night lords models I saw, I've seen so much today it's hard to bring to mind if I'd seen them, I think I have, they had body parts over them, however I may be confusing them with the Raptor squad which I also liked. Kol Saresk
Hmm. No offense is intended. But from what I've seen of the pics for the Raptors, they look a bit like cleaner versions of the CSM Raptors so I'm actually underwhelmed in that department. Emperor's Furor
I loved the detail in their face masks, but I guess I see your point, it's just to think these were "loyalists" at one stage. Oh some back stage info on where the Night Lords recruited from, they got all their bog standard terran marines from a giant prison to lol. Emperor's Furor
Firedrakes can take Dragonscale stormshields which give 5+ invulnerable saves or increase the current invulnerable save by 1. Conn Eremon
It sounds like Vulkan had one if the most profound impact on his Legion than any other Primarch. That is a massive shift. Emperor's Furor
If you use the trait, then Iron Hands can have mechanicum as elites. As to Vulkan he didn't immediately join his legion, he accompanied the Emperor by himself for some time, what Vulkan did to his legion when he eventually rejoined them was to tempered their nature, but still maintained it so they could call on it, for example they'd do their utmost to save humanity but if called upon they would utterly annihilate their enemy.
