I decided to give it a shot. Here's two WIP shots:

I might if I figure out a way to do it that I like. We'll see.

Vallejo Liquid Gold series "White Gold"?

If only I had ready acces to that series, I'd certainly use it. But as it is a bit hard to get here I'll go with forte's suggestion instead.

The SoH recon squad looked a lot more lite AL then the Terminators. The terminators look really good =)

Thanks! I did paint them with the same colours, so it's probably my inadequate camera skills making them look different.

Very nice. Had to turn the brightness up on my phone before I noticed the purple (bloody colorblindness). I'm guessing these are still wip? If you are going to be highlighting the purple (which I do recommend for a little more definition), don't use white. I used Space Wolves grey added to the base colour after someone recommended it. Works well and stops it turning pastel or pink.

Nice work. If you blend it carefully I have found that you often don't need to mix the colours. I usually use 2-3 of the GW "layer" colours, and with a careful blending that works fine IMO.

But through mixing colours you can achieve so many different colours.

Thanks for your comments everyone!

I don't have anything against mixing colours per se, and for example the SoH green is completely a mix. But if there's already a suitable paint in the range why not use it and save some time? msn-wink.gif

Here's the finished squad, that I already posted in the Loyalty and Treachery thread:

Also, Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks! I really enjoyed painting them and have more Iron Hands in the works. In the meantime here's a Death Guard Tactical Squad that I've been working on for a long time now:

There's still more work to be done on them. The sergeant's head needs finishing, and they all need some weathering as well.

I happily except donations if you feel you have too much of a good thing msn-wink.gif

Heh, not that much. Just enough to make me try to keep a break from buying more until I've painted more of what I already have. As if that's going to succeed...

Oh nice. I like the look of the Thallax in a bronzey color. Most everyone has gone with a more silver or iron look.

Thanks! I did think about it too, but I think I'll get to pain enough iron and silver when I'll soon start on my Iron Warriors. And to be honest I prefer the bronze with mechanicum.

Haven't really made any progress on painting this week for various reason (one of which you can find in the Liber Victorium section: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285456-horus-heresy-cometh-the-red-angel-picture-heavy/), but last weekend I actually began to paint my Magos alongside the Thallax, and here are the (still WIP) pictures:
