Been a while since I last showed something. After the ETL and also taking part in the Flames of War European Team Championships I did need a small break from miniatures, but I'm now back, painting and putting things together.

Though I have a few unfinished models that I probably should get to, I wanted to try something that I hadn't done yet (in Heresy any way). Maybe you remember those unpainted Ashen Circle I showed (or maybe not since it has been quite a while). Not much done but at least I've started painting them:

Also, I've put together another vehicle for my Iron Hands, a Land Raider Proteus:

I've left the tracks off for now, as I find them easier to paint that way. I'll also probably be adding some etched brass before it gets undercoated.

Also, as I was waiting for the pain to dry, I made a mock up for the leader of my small Salamander detachment. He'll be a legion champion with a master crafted powerfist, reftractor field, and draconscale pattern stormshield:

What do you think? Does the shield work as it is, or does it need more work? Is it large enough? I'm kind of on the fence myself.

Thank you! I think I agree about the shield being too small, so I made a bigger one (see below).

Thanks. My brother had several as spare and he was more than willing to let me have them.

The Ashen Circle are progressing nicely. I've done the washes and started working on some of the details:

And as mentioned I decided to give a try at making the Salamander Champion's shield bigger:

The shield obviously needs a bit of work, but the size seems to be about right now. What do you think?

And finally my Iron Hands are getting more reinforcements than just the Land Raider. Five more terminators to bring the squad to full size:

Thanks! I love the models and that alone makes them worth it for me. Can't say about their effectiveness on the table as I haven't played any games with HH Word Bearers. I think they look okay on the paper though, but nothing exceptional.

The Ashen Circle is not bad on the Field. Sometimes i field them in 6-7 man sqauds.

Thanks, brother. The terminators will probably get finished first as I'm already more than halfway trough with them, but the land raider is definitely on my painting schedule. That said, there are six myrmidons on my table glaring at me because of their almost finished state and I'm slowly working on my Zone Mortalis as well. And on top of that I've finally been adding decals to my World Eaters. Now all they want is more blood and dirt...

Thanks, glad you like them. I have a Word Bearer army for normal 40k so I wanted to paint these so that they wouldn't stand out used alongside their future version some day. Also, I prefer the crimson scheme over the grey.

Thanks! I've improved a lot while painting all these. You should see some of my earlier stuff (and you might if I'll get around to taking pics of them some day)- it's not really at the same level.

Myrmidons might be the next, or the Land Raider, we'll see. But I've got a HH game coming up this week, so it might take a while. On other hand I finally finished the batte report from our third Isstvan campaign game- check out the Liber Victorium if you want to see some of these models in action.
