I do have fun fielding them, I still run my 1750 Death Company/Mech list most of the time because I'm trying to get better with it tactically, but I wanted a change. I kind of regret taking the 9 DC with bolters/chaplain in a DP over the Fragioso though that game. I think that would have had a better outcome turn one drop. Those damn eldar rending attacks are insane, and the kid rolls 6's so often it's not even funny. Lost over half my DC by the 2nd turn to rending, and bad rolling on my behalf. 1's and 2's, and still almost won.

I need to be smarter about challenges as well. My opponent can easily tie up my chaplain (unless he has a fist), and the combat can last 2-3 turns just because of the challenge. Good example was my squad of 10 DC with Lemartes charges a 10 man squad of marines and Master of the Forge. I wipe out all the marines first turn, and Lemartes is locked in combat with MotF for what seems like an eternity. Lemartes suffers 1 wound, and gets his stats buff, and they slap each other for a couple more turns. The rest of the squad is just sitting there... watching. Then incomes another of his friendly units to charge me. I finally take him down after the 3rd or 4th round of combat. I think I will have to start declining challenges, or take PF's on my chaplains.

I sadly won't be getting much work done on my models this week either, have a nice commute for the next few days for work.

Ah I see what you mean about the lacking of power fist. Yep, I really liked the Chap model with the Power Fist, has become one of my favourite chap models. I also have one modelled with a Thunder Hammer, shame it's not allowed (proxy it as a fist I guess). How come the DC just sat there - lack of special weapons to hurt him or bad rolls ?

They had wiped out the squad that they, and Lemartes assaulted, since their was a challenge ongoing, they couldn't partake in the fight between Lemartes and the Master of the Forge fight, had to wait until he assaulted me with one of his units.

Cool cool! I like the use of white around edges on the helmet. They look mean. I just stripped my old metal ones, just have lots of other DC projects on the go at the moment. Thanks for sharing!

3rd Edition is the best edition.. At least as far as miniatures go.

Awesome, thanks for the repost appiah5. Your pic was lost in the purge. Seeing your models made me want to switch all my lenses from red to green as well :)

I think I have 6 that I stripped last week. I just haven't had a lot of hobby time lately to continue painted my current squad 5 for Lemartes and the other 5 for Astorath.

I lost majority of their original metal shoulder pads, but I have lots of the spare pads from the current DC kits that I will put on them. Can't wait to see the next 5.

My FW DC Rhino doors finally came in today. I will post some pics up over the next few days of my DC WIP. I have a big 8k+ pts game over the next couple days against nids, so I won't be getting any painting down. The rhino is looking great so far, lots of battle damage, I tried a crackle medium on part, but I don't think it's turning out. I'm probably to impatient.

Loving the pics I'm seeing from everyone posting, keep em coming!

My first interior of a tank paint job. Figured I might as well.

The Red X on the top of the rhino was done with cardboard, I have a hard time finding plasticard. It turned out really well.

Thanks, I couldn't pass up on the FW doors. It's one of those affordable options that brings a simple rhino to a whole other level. When I eventually get around to getting a LR and SR, I'll do the same for the doors.

I picked up to of the Chaplains w/pf from the shop the other day. Shipping is so quick now its nuts. Ordered them on saturday, got them on wednesday.

My DC formation will now be complete for the boxing day bash. Just need to assemble one more furioso, and get a ton of painting done. I need to spend less time playing, more time painting.
