kapturowski
@ Olisredan Not quite sure. I've never used any of the 30K heavy weapons from Forge World so I'm not sure what to expect. @Ovidius Incertus, Anaziel, lokkorex, The_Chaplain Thanks! SEEKER SQUAD TORIGOS, TACTICAL VETERAN COMPANY First three Seekers/Sternguard complete. SQUAD KHATASACH, TACTICAL COMPANY, BROTHER LUNN Only had one pair of Mk II arms left and they didn't fit the pose so he got a pair of Mk III instead. Ordered some Bionic bitz and bobs from Anvil Industry to bling out my Iron Hands with. Forge World has also put up the Iron Hand Mk IIIs for pre-order so things are looking to get expensive. kapturowski
Here's how I do my Gorgets. ++01++ I use 0.5mm thick Plasticard, I first tried using 0.25mm but this was too thin and would warp when bent and glued in place. ++02++ Cut out a strip of Plasticard. ++03++ Cut it to size and trim the edges. ++04++ I use a round file as a guide to bend the strip to fit into the neck of the armour. ++05++ Glue the strip in place. If you want to you can fill in the gap between the Plasticard and the neck ring with greenstuff. ++06++ Add the rivets. I use a thin Plasticard rod which I glue on and then cut of at an appropriate length. Usually needs some trimming and touch ups with a knife or file to get them smooth. ++07++ Trim the helmet to fit behind the gorget. ++08++ Glue the helmet in place! Brother Heinrich
This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite blogs, your subtle conversions are really inspired man and make me want to try my hand at the Tenth Legion, keep up the great work. ninjasuperspy
Nice customs! Might have to steal that gorget idea, it makes MK III look even beefier (which I thought was impossible). spu00sed
Just wow. Â Very cool conversions. I love how y added character to every model, but kept to the character of the legion. Ovidius Incertus
Do you dip the plasticard strip for the gorget in hot water to soften it before shaping with the file? disease
saw the first picture and then subscribed immediately. This a great thread, as others have stated your conversions are subtle, but astonishingly well executed. The helmet modifications are going to be a new trend amongst IH and DG players world wide! Â Really keen to see more and once again thanks for sharing. kapturowski
@ PassionFruit Power Thanks! I'm very glad that you like it! @Shoge Thanks! @ deathspectersgt7, Knight of the Raven It hard to go wrong when working with such cool sculpts. @batu Yeah, he's all about cool. And looking menacing. @ Olisredan Thank you. I really look forward to building more Seekers, just need more bitz. @ Battle-Brother Ludovic Thanks, I'm happy to contribute to the fantastic community on these boards. @ Urza Got an email today that my order from Forge world had shipped, so you will hopefully see a completed tac squad and the beginning of my Praetor sometime next week. @ Anaziel It's not that hard, it mostly requires patience and luck. @ Maximvs You know wht they say; good artists borrow, great artists steal. @ Brother Heinrich Thanks! After seeing your Night Lords, that is high praise indeed. @ ninjasuperspy Yeah, the addition of tassets make them look even more armoured! @ Squeaky You're welcome. @ spu00sed Thak you! @ Ovidius Incertus I didn't do that, but I certainly think it's a good idea. @ disease Thanks! SQUAD KHATASACH, TACTICAL COMPANY Paint in progress. I've tried different techniques on all the models with varying amounts of highlighting and chipping. I think I'll settle for just doing a zenithal highlight with the airbrush and use chipping to bring out the details. SQUAD KHATASACH, TACTICAL COMPANY, BROTHER KAVANN AND PAADRAIG Got my bitz from Anvil Industry. The bionic arms are a bit small, had to sculpt shoulders to put the shoulderpads on. I really like the tassets protecting the hip soft armour, I will invest in more of those. Tassets are great little extra bits of customisation that don't massively stand out, yet add to the character of the mini.
