DavianCool
I usually find that the best way (aside from painting of course) to make a model look great is to make the poses dynamic but realistic and you have done that really well, especially on the priest. Great Work. Ovidius Incertus
Love the Gerantius. Â What did you use to seal before the AK enamels? Â I've done oils before, but not enamels, and I've got some of the Streaking Grime I want to use for a current project. LutherMax
Thanks Ovidius, hoping to take him out for a spin soon! I used Humbrol gloss clear to seal - couple of coats applied with the airbrush. RedemptionNL
Very nice! Had those decals custom made to mirror the original Gerantius ones? LutherMax
Yep! Actually I should give credit to Frater Carlson792 who created the artwork. I got Fallout Hobbies to print it. RedemptionNL
Ah, this one I suppose? http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/files/file/460-freeblade-knights/ Â The sheet looks very useful at least, so thanks for pointing me in that direction! I still have a Renegade Knight box lying around, and I want to do something else than a Chaos Renegade and a House Terryn knight, but that's all the transfers they come with. Â I was thinking about doing a Living Litany and a Crimson Reaper, so Carlson792's sheet might certainly come in handy there, as the original limited edition sheet is nowhere to be seen anymore. Â Â Did you just send the PDF to Fallout like that or did you edit it first (or did they)? The coloured backgrounds seem like they might cause trouble for the white transfers. Â And how close cut are the decals Fallout Hobbies made? Like the newer GW sheets? Or do you have to cut everything yourself? LutherMax
If I do another Knight ("if" ha!) it will be Living Litany – love that scheme!  I edited the PDF for my purposes. The white decals on Carson's sheets are designed to be overlaid transparent over a white-painted surface, so the colour around needs to be blended in to the model creating a white symbol. This is because they are for home desktop printers which don't print white, obviously.  I can edit them for you to create white-printable artwork if you like? Just drop me a PM.  The sheets from Fallout have the transfer material all over (like the FW sheets) so you need to cut around the symbol. But they go on like a dream over a gloss-coated surface with some Microsol. LutherMax
Thanks Dosjetka!  What's next? Hmm let me see... I have a tutorial on my Blood Angels to finish and then a little commission of some BA/WS infantry. Then I have my Sicaran, Deredeo, Vindicator and a Razorback half done, some scout snipers, some more Death Company, the contents of the Betrayal at Calth box, some Vanguard Veterans, Sternguard, Space Hulk Terminators... The list goes on and on ;)  But for now, here's my trio of drop pods, and some land speeders once I've taken photos...  http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Drop-Pods-01.jpg  http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Drop-Pods-02.jpg  The middle one was painted by me, and the other two by Scars Miniature Madness to match, plus some finishing touches by me :) Aubéron, Pearson73 and Noserenda 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282574-luthers-wosp-works-of-slow-progress/page/14/#findComment-4459613 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
Hahaha, right. Gotcha. Indefragable
Though I have been to your website many a time, I just found this thread now. There is not a lot you've done that I don't love, but I have to say I think your Drop Pod is the most striking.  I stop and get lost looking it over. It reminds me of something in a museum in the "historical re-creation" section...that quality. So vivid, so lifelike. Or like the digital models that are showcased in loading screens in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Batman: Arkham Knight.  It has the perfect balance of deep, rich reds, realistic metallics, and a real-world feel to it. It looks like it has been burned by the atmospheres of planetary re-entry, scrubbed clean by Chapter serfs, sent planetside again, cleaned again, and so on for several hundred years. There is a subtle artistry that speaks volumes. LutherMax 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282574-luthers-wosp-works-of-slow-progress/page/14/#findComment-4461579 Share on other sites
LutherMax
Thank you for the kind words Indy! I did enjoy painting it, even though the kit is a bit fiddly...  Newest addition to the armoury, a trio of Land Speeders. As with the drop pods, only one of these (speeder no. II) was painted by me, and the other two were matched by Peter at Scar's Miniature Madness.  http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Land-Speeder-Squadron-01.jpg http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Land-Speeder-Squadron-02.jpg http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Land-Speeder-Squadron-03.jpg http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Land-Speeder-Squadron-04.jpg http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Land-Speeder-Squadron-05.jpg http://www.themightybrush.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Blood-Angels-Land-Speeder-Squadron-06.jpg  Hope you like them!
