They were running towards the burnt out shell of an Emperors children spartan, shells were falling like fists into the mud. this was no tactical retreat, this was a routing.

The culvern was heavy in his arms he had been lugging it for days and even his superhuman physiology could not withstand it's bulk any longer, the rad grenades at his side were all the squad had left, 5 marines, 4 grenades, 2 functioning culverns.

He wasn't an idiot the whore sons of fulgrim betrayed them, rather then protecting the rear guard they disbanded to go chase their perversions. Now the death guard were overwhelmed, imperial army forces were being rallied by a squad of the emperors custodians.

Bahrn had to take charge of his 4 brothers, their sgt was taken out by a barrage of kraken bolt rounds, they shred him within seconds and the rest of his brothers were in disarray.

They reached the spartan and clambered into the insides of the burnt out machine.

"So what's your genius plan now brother?"

Bahrn looked at Jaimin, his brothers features were scarred. The respirator was rusting and his pupils were black as coal, he had served with him for 40 years and he could see the toll that the volkites radiation was taking.

"Well were surrounded we have barely any functioning weaponry our warplate needs repairing and my blade is blunt so if it comes to hand to hand combat I'm going to be more succesful with my gauntlets then this piece of crap for a knife"

Jaimin laughed at this

"Stop trying to be positive brother, we all know were doomed to die here. As long as we can take those pathetic wretches that are coming for us down I don't truly care how I die."

Bahrn looked at Jaimin and realised he had been wounded, there was a seeping liquid coming from the cuff of his gauntlets, he then realised that the taint had spread to him.

"Brother how long have you been suffering?"

"Who bloody cares Bahrn were all going to be swollen bloated sacks of :cuss eventually, don't look at me like that. I'm happy to last against these mortals a while longer"

Bahrn was disappointed at this he hated the acceptance that so many brothers showed towards the slow death.

"Well then I guess we prepare for a glorious end brother"

"Shut up Bahrn! There is no glory in this lets just die and get on with it"

"alright brother, let's get ready to join death in his embrace"

Patience is a virtue brother it will be worth it I promise, this will be a slow bloated project.

 

I'm going to create each individual marine as a character ;)

 

No bulk speed work here just time and patience my friend

agreed, this is a side project for me that will eventually overshadow the Hell hammers. I am dealing with a lot of real life stuff right now, and CODGhosts is out so I will start kinda slow, plus I am waiting on resin. I want to minimize 40K/plastic as much as possible.

 

 

 

Although you will see some Rogue Trader era gems in My side of the project!

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light
 



His Shield was tarnished and battered, the bronze was fading and the archeotech components were becoming harder to repair after each battle. Supplies were being exhausted extensively.

He was a giant of an astrates compared to his brothers, his brothers used to joke that if he was to be clad in Cataphactrii armour he'd be mistaken for a contemptor dreadnought.

But his brothers were dead, the whole revolution had taken it's toll on the legion ranks. he was known now by his latest adopted squad as the Wraith, none of these untested youths knew his real name but he was fine with it.

His ancient power scythe was reconditioned from a piece of man kinds ancient dark past, gifted to him by the primarch for surviving where all others had fallen. He wished not to become part of the deathshroud he was happiest on the front lines even if it meant he was deployed alone.

His life only had purpose when in the heat of battle, there he was a survivor and an embodiment of the endurance his legion was famed for. But that purpose was being taken slowly from each engagement chipping at his psyche, he was starting to develop a coldness that was unbecoming of the man he used to be.

A coldness that was swallowing his soul, a warmth that could never be achieved. His spirit wasn't broken but was beginning to crack like a piece of over tempered iron.

It was on the orbital platform of Ocarius Gamma that he was stationed above terra, the system wide battle was like an amalgamation of beauty and horror.

Below the station you could see Terra burning, he itched to descend but was ordered to ensure that the station wasn't taken.

But the urge was over powering and he needed vindication in the heat of battle.

A sharp crack and a spray of rich arterial blood ended the dissent immediately. He removed his gauntlet from the insides of the legionary.

These are the characters that I will be undertaking to begin with, furioso & I have decided to build the full list of centurion options and decided that we would halve them equally, I will be taking Librarian, Primus Medicae, Mortriat & Champion.

 

I will also start on my first two squads

A tac support squad with culverns & a tactical squad.

 

The fluff is here to provide the vision for these squads and characters, I hope to have WIP photos up by Friday at the latest.

Ok guys, let's see some minis... This is the WIP forum - not the Fan Fiction... After 30+ posts I'd expect a least an initial pic of your project. Having a background story and some nice art is fine and can add depth to your project but it has to be some WIP in there to justify this fluff heavy log.

 

 

I know you both can become very productive, so don't hold back!

Oh how the mighty have fallen! The purity and marshall honour stripped away to reveal a disease ridden core. Oh that you could have been stopped on Istvaan III, then this horror and desecration could never have taken place. To pierce your brother's back can only bring about an eternity of damnation and suffering. I pity my lost brothers and weep at what you have become.

May the Emperor have mercy on your souls...For I will not!

Looking forward to more pics of grey death as this project unfolds but the fluff can easily sustain me for the moment.

Thanks reaver!

 

 Well, now for my part. I am the trench and siege specialist in this little endeavor. I will have very little in the way of vehicles in the beginning. the first order of business for me is to work on the Siege Breaker and two 15 man breacher squads. for the CONSULS, I will be supplying the Siege Breaker(duh, I guess), Chaplain, Master of Signal, Vigilator, and the Praetor. these will probably come first as I am waiting on resi-crack! I am going to TRY to limit the presence of the 40k range at large, but who knows what my now twisted mind will come up with! 

 For those of you that where following(and working on!) my HELLHAMMER project, fear not, I will continue them. I just need to refocus the project based off of what the community does with that army they're building. after that, I will build on what they started. It's just the Sallies didn't quite fit the whole trench fighter thing. that's why I like the Death Guard, they ARE attrition warfare. you will see some of the minis from the Hell hammers in this thread., I am focusing on this until the Hellhammer project is finished.

 

 

and I did say that I was going to Include some Rogue Trader goodness didn't I?

Well thank you reavers, as I have always been a traitorous whoreson I'll take that compliment :D

 

And prime I'm trying to hunt down 2 more RT preds for this project ;)

 

Now I've been lacking inspiration but I feel my brothers from Ipswich in Queensland have re kindled my flame; now who has done this you ask.

 

Why it's The boys from the amity affliction.

 

I was driving to work and my whole library was on shuffle and a track I forgot olde English 800 came on,

 

When your aspirations crumble

At the feet of your tormentors

And your jaw feels like it's breaking

On the cold hard tile floor

And you're holding onto something

That does far more harm than good

Well then you've reached the pits of hell

And there in hell you'll find the steel

 

To smash your skin until it's calloused

To grind your teeth down to the bone

To tear your tongue out from its shelter

And when we get there we'll tread heavy

Through the boneyards and the filth

That is really rather cool, jasp. Think if you could have a few droplets dripping off the trail and then paint it in a vibrant, putrid looking green/yellow it'd look really cool. Like he's siphoned off some of the disease and corruption within his own body to hurl.
