@BCK- I thought you'd appreciate a chaplain load out ;) you will be running with heathens and noctus.

@Heathens- I'll bring the flannos and join you! I thought an axe and a stolen IF sword would be great for your kit load out I hope you approve

[Pict Cap; unknown marine]

Above all things let us never forget that mankind constitutes one great brotherhood; all born to encounter suffering and sorrow, and therefore bound to sympathize with each other.

"Brother...... "

The sounds of detonations and the warmth of radiation bathed his armour, he looked down from his vantage point and saw the motionless corpse that was now his brother.

Another flash and another brother dead, those bastards of the VIIth Legion were picking off his brothers one by one with there shoulder mounted conversion beamers & Volkite cavaliers, the palace was becoming a tomb and the mounting body toll was increasing beyond any previous engagements attrition rates.

The sgt was a veteran of over 120years since his induction into the Death Guard, now he carried an axe ripped from the grasp of a fallen champion of the blood angels legion, and a relic blade from the corpse of a vaunted 1st company Sgt of the imperial fists.

His features where gaunt and strained he was an embodiment of the legions traditions and history he was one of the last unsullied.

He lost his squad upon landing, his drop ship had been targeted by flak cannon fire and his fire raptor plummeted towards the palace walls.

His squad were lost to the fires of war and he was alone, fighting his way through the palace taking rooms and recon squads out as silently as deaths right hand. He found other survivors throughout the palace, those that were tainted he executed mercilessly and those that endured he bought with him; 2 despoilers, 1 heavy specialist, 1 support marine & 2 tactical legionaries.

They were a lone kill team in this zone mortallis, they were brothers, they were the last amongst the XVIIth company to be alive behind enemy lines.

They were the Dusk Walkers.

They were deaths right hand.

They were mankind's judgement.

its not bad its just not great....

worth the 350.00 maybe its got some sweet art from john blanche but the best bit by far is the last paragraph in the emps fight with horus.

sadly though its really just a rehashed original with the pics in accordance with campaigns.

I shall cherish it like a newborn but I think it will spend most of its life on the shelf with the other books.

I was afraid of that very thing. Oh, and "sweet art" and "John Blanche" don't belong in the same sentence.

No one forces me to like anything.  Personally, I think he's awful and every one of his pictures in a book or codex is space that could have been used by a better artist. He's like Brad Pitt to me - I honestly have no idea how either one of them continues to get work.

I have to agree with BCK, I've never like Blanche's artwork and can't really see the appeal..I prefer Neil Roberts or the nameless on Deviant art. Blanche seems, dare I say, too edgy.

Well so we don't derail this thread, I respect BCK more than anyone when it comes to his conversion work and I consider him to be a well informed individual, I like Blanche as he inspired the grimdark that now resides in the back of my skull this does not mean that I don't agree with with those that dislike his work it's just a difference of opinion.

So I have managed to progress,

it's all good, I use my iPhone as well. The key is to brace it on something so the shot doesn't get blurred by shaky hands (I usually use a combination of alcohol and a stack of Gaunt's Ghosts novels). Also if you use photobucket to host your photos you can tweak the light levels and contrast so they don't appear so dark.
