The blue highlight always works well on black, much easier than grey too which is a bonus :)

Some great work on the weathering. Maybe a bit too heavy with it but thats a question of personal taste.

Looking forward to seeing how you position your duel :)

So the blue highlights work? They look of to me, but could be because I am used to grey

I think they look great brother! The colder tone that it gives the armour really makes him distinguishable as an IH. Grey highlights would probable suit RG more than IH, at least in my mind. Keep it up!

Yeah I know that some are a little bit to rusty, but I blame the chipping fluid since it comes loose in these big chunks I work with what I got so to say.

@ Pyrumancer

Well that's a relief. :P

No update today, just got some smal work done on the tubes etc.

But I have a big questions, which Deathshroud should I use?

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Legiones_Astartes/Death_Guard/DEATH_GUARD_DEATHSHROUD_TERMINATORS.html

I am thinking about 1:st guy 2:nd row a.k.a. Pointy Guy, or 3:rd guy 1:st row a.k.a. Running Guy. I considered 1:st guy 1:st row a.k.a. Leader Guy, but I think it won't work well as a duel.

I think I am going with Pointy since the duel is going to be just at the start so they hav'nt engaged eachother just yet.

But what do you guys think?

Hey packe

Nice work with the iron hand..the blue highlights work well..have you considered using silver roughly applied for highlighting them?

As for the deathshroud..maybe the first mini on the left of the first row...has kind of a sizing you up look about him?

Did you manage to get any of the "light chipping fluid" for the contemptor?

Keep up the good work

Hey Mortis!

Do you mean silver on the blue highlights? For worn effect? I suppose.

Hmm, you have a point, well I have both "Leader" and "Pointy" half assembled so I could take some comparison photos once I get the base done.

As you might see from the heavy chipping I only have heavy chipping :/ But I think I solved the problem, I think it has to do with Vallejo Model Air colors, they seem to be more like masking fluid and paint in one compared to their normal Model Color, since the green chips "right" I and that uses Model Color.

Update!

My Iron Hand Champion is done. The highlight under the right eye has been fixed, anything else I missed? It was quite some time since I last highlighted.

I always wanted to make a really bloody chainsword.

My "awesome" freehand skills.

@ TheWarmaster

Well I always wanted to paint a really bloody sword but it would'nt fit with my DG, so when I had the chance I took it!

And for some reason I am not surprised that a Night Lord likes blood, I wonder why. ;)

And the Contemptor is done!

It came out a little bit rustier than what I would have wanted, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life on touch ups.

And a close up on the fist, I am very happy with it, but I think it might be a bit to dark.

Should I add blood? I want to but I feel that it will ruin the look.

What do you guys think?

Since my Contemptor ain't that interesting apparently. ;) I hope my work on my Deathshroud for my Duel is more interesting.

And in advance, I am so sorry for the lack of quality on the pictures but my Macro Objective died in a horrible "camera in the ground" accident, but oh well.

Pictures!

I am really happy with the Copper oxide, and the dirt instead of rust streaks. :)

@chaplain mortis

Thanks I really think I outmatched my self with it this time. :)

@sockwithahat

Thanks!

I forwared your concern to them, and they said they would consider it, but that they can't promise anything. ;)

@henriklundback

Thanks, and I'll see if I can fix that tutorial you were asking for. :)

@daemonclaw

That was kinda the look I was going for at the time, but I'm considering doing all my rest like I did my Deathshroud.

And here are some pictures of my finished Deathsthroud and the base for the duel, just some water effects and possibly snow on the base.

But since I am going on a "business trip" this week I wont be able to do any more painting until the weekend, but hopefully I can still reply to your answears.

And again, excuse for the bad quality of the pictures.

The Shroud look absolutely fantastic. Very jealous of how well you've done them!

You know my feelings on the Contemptor - it's too much for my liking, but I cannot fault your technique! Love the rust effect. It does look the part!

@ disease

Thank you, I am also very pleased with it. :)

@ Chaeron

I am also really happy with it, glad you liked it.

Your feelings are not uncalled for, I also feel that the rust was overdone, but after the incident and all the big grey spots I did what I could. I am also learning along the way, I am moving from crazy amounts of rust to just dirt and small spots of rust. :)

Hi guys!

I'm not dead yet, just been really busy with work and all the "boring" things in life.

I will update with my a finished duel photo when I get done with my moving.

But I just wanted to share a tease so to speak.

First out

And here is something I have dreamed about for a long time, and finally, I have it.

Hi Guys!

First off, I feel terrible for the extreme hold up, (insert excuses here, work, life yadi yadi).

But now I'm back!

I've started work on my Mortarion I'm having trouble getting the desired effect on the copper, but I'm making progress. So this is very much a WIP.

Unfortunately I am going away for 10 days or so. So there won’t be any pictorial updates but I can still respond to text.

I will try to get some good pictures of my Duel which unfortunately did not place (same 3 guys won basically everything -.- ), however since my Macro lens for my camera broke I will have to work with my less suited lenses.

And now without further ado, pictures!

Really nice work Packe!

I'm loving the weathering you've done on the models - especially how you've managed to get it to look appropriate regardless of the model size.  Often I think the chips that look good on infantry models look too small on vehicles, and the the ones that look good on vehicles overpower infantry models.  You have found a great balance.

I saw your mini-tutorial on how to weather stripes and decal - did you use the same process to apply the dark weathering to the marines?  Did you use a sponge? Or was there another technique?

Look forward to seeing what's next.

Cheers
