The Nemesis Crusade +++ Oath Complete +++

Looking Great!  How you got that transfer on the left shoulder...I tried for so long...I cut and sliced and repositioned, I could never get it on there quite right.  Decided I'd just hold off till I could paint a proper free hand cross (thats when I am truly a templar!).

I say that power weapons should ALWAYS be activated on models.  It immediately makes them stand out from a normal close combat weapon.  You paid the points, enjoy the effect!

Activated it is then, thanks for the replies. The cross is free hand, took me about ten minutes reshaping my brushes just to get a decent tip to do it. I personally have never had any luck with transfers so they just pile up in a transfer bin I now have. I think I may have to bite the bullet and finally buy some of the Windsor newtons for the finer points of life.

Vow 5 complete:

Master of the forge Balthasar is now ready to join the Eternal crusade.

I've got to say that participating in the ETL was actually pretty fun and am looking forward to doing it again next year. On another plus note I now have a fully painted army, and can now concentrate on doing up some Elysians.

He did turn out very nice. Subdued, whilst subduing. ;)

My other army as well. I hope you post them in the IG forum so that we can all admire them.

Well done Brother, congratulations on completing your vows!

ONWARDS!

Brothers, As I have been kept busy with going back to school to learn French and with work placed on a allied army, I feel ashamed that I have not contributed anything towards the glorious Eternal crusade.
For penance the MOTF has brought forth a ill tempered machine spirit of old, to reconstruct and point in the direction of the heretics that are a blemish in the great emperors galaxy.

Awesome kit but by the emperor what a pain to assemble. Hopefully I will have it finished and painted by the end of the week as there is a large game of Apoc approaching and it would be a valuable asset.

This reminds i really really want to find a spare fellblade turret to use as a swap on my glaive... while i don't regret my choice, that double barrel deliciousness is just its own brand of awesome as well. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Alright my Brothers, I have been away from these hallow grounds far to long and have finally joined the glorious crusade of the ETL once again.

Needless to say I have a new found respect for those of you that have exams and continue to compete in these competitions. So I will finally be able to finish the assembly and apply paint to the now very angered machine spirit that resides within the fell blade for my first vow this year. Really I have no updated picture because it is in the same state as the above pic, except that the storage ring has been glued in place.

So there has been a miniscule amount of progress done thus far, the build is finished, base coated and some other colours tossed on, but I have a giant case of lack of inspiration going on now. I was thinking about doing partial red crosses on the back sides again like with my Spartan but don't want to copy other designs. Any help form you brothers would be greatly appreciated.

Was considering putting Templar storm shields on the doors and have some banners and lanterns that still need to be affixed to the hull, but I am not to sure what else I can do to this beast.

If I may voice a concern, it would be that the tank looks rather grey/metallish, rather than black right now. Combined with the gold trimmings, it makes me think Iron Warriors when I see it, which is an unfortunate asociation to be sure. Otherwise I think you're pretty much on the right track with your ideas for decorations. Oh and chains. The beast is made for a love relationship with chains methinks.

I am calling this complete for now, since I ran out of weathering powders, so I will get back to that at a much later date. Happily this tank already has some kills under its belt while it was still in the production phase of life, removing 2 filthy elder witch's and some squads of harlequins. Hope you enjoy, comments and critiques always welcome.
Now to find a chaplin.

While gorgeous, there was something that bugged me a little, and I think it I finally realized what, the tracks feel too clean. While you certainly havent shyed away from weathering, and the templar bring is inspriring, I think I would like to see just a bit more dirt on the tracks. They feel cleaner than the cannon barrels.

Now excuse me, i need to look at my own super heavy to make sure her Templar isn't found wanting.

Thanks all for the comments.
@Reinhard - I agree 100% with you, I am just waiting on some powders to show up so that I can dirty up the tracks to match the rest of the hull.

@Canadian_F-H - Glad to help with some inspiration.

Vow 2 now up, not overly large but points are points and I accepted Acebaur's challenge of painting up a Chaplin.

Fun story behind this guy, Actually made it into a GW on Friday looking for a fail cast jump Chaplin so I could try a conversion I was thinking of, but shockingly enough they didn't have any. One of the guys playing a game there told me he never used his anymore and tossed him my way wanting nothing for it just a paint job.
