The third one's washes are drying, so I decided to finish building the Blight Launcher Plague Marine squad I vowed for the ETL...

Sergeant (the astute observer will notice that this guy's body is the DI Malignant Plaguecaster's body :smile.: ):

Marine (this guy is another attempt at using the standard DI bolter plague marine's body and turn it into a miniature that one wouldn't immediately recognize as having that base miniature - I'm pretty happy with the result, myself. What do you think?):

I hope you like them!

@ sfPanzer: haha I was going for RoboCop :biggrin.::wink: Now be a lamb and put those quoted pictures between hidden brackets (or delete them from the comment) - nobody needs to see all those pictures twice. :smile.::thumbsup:(sorry - pet peeve AND needless quoting is against forum guidelines) :smile.:

@ Verux: Cheers!

As always a great use of bits on these guys. I especially love the second the last guy, looking into the distance with his single visor hole.

The only nitpicky point of improvement I have is that the last guy would look better if his right arm was a little more straight. His pose right now feels slightly unnatural. Not quite sweeping it up to fire at an enemy and not quite straight enough to be natural.

Thanks, Maarten! Not sure what you mean y the pose, though - he's supposed to be dragging the bulk of the blight launcher, not quite sweeping it up or pointing it at the enemy. Those things are heavy!

I finished the third and final Myphitic Blight Hauler just now! Hurray!

I hope you like! Comments and feedback most welcome! Likes are appreciated, but they don't keep this thread going - there's a reason we're on here, and not on facebook or instagram! ;)

Cheers!

I'm gone for one day and you complete it all... the Blight-Haulers turned out fantastic and it's hard to pick a favorite but I'd probably say the one with the meat swelling out of the damage hull.

The assembled Plague Marines are looking good, not sure how I feel about the converted Blight Launcher however. Great use of the Beastman banner, though!

I know you hear this a lot, but the speed at which you pull this out is almost unnatural, I´m sure you made some kind of foul deal with the chaos gods to give you painting speed. And the plague marine squad looks great, I really like the "butcher´s cleaver" on the chmapion!

I spoke with him last night and Grandfather Nurgle is pleased with you offerings. The extra dents/pock marks in the armor. Are you doing those with a dremel or something else? They really look great and add to the models. Great stuff!

Cheers, everyone. I thought I'd make some group shots of the Trilobe of Myphitic Blight Haulers :)

I hope you like them! I do admit that I thought I'd enjoy painting them more than I did, but in the end they've quite grown on me - they're so cuddly and cute.

Cheers!

@ Verux: Cheers! I hope you like them as a triolbe as well :)

@ DuskRaider: Thanks, buddy! The meat swelling was supposed to be brain, but I think I blew it on the sculpting, and should have gone for a more greyish purple hue of the brain tissue for that to have worked, shouldn't I have? In any case, could you tell me what's so disagreeable about the converted Blight Launcher? I'm open to suggestions!

@ The Traitor: I paid the price for the speed, don't worry. ;) Thanks also on the buthcer cleaver - it's quite a simple, yet effective conversion to do :tu:

@ Sagentus: Cheers! I do admit I started the two Apothecaries first.

@ rednekkboss: Thanks, buddy! I hope you put in a good word with Papa g'Aap. The dents are indeed done with a dremel. Simple, easy, effective Nurglification!

@ Hungry Nostraman Lizard:  'Tis too! ;)

I assumed it was brain tissue and technically that IS meat (just ask my Plague Zombies). As far as the Launcher... it just still says "I'm a Heavy Bolter" to me. I'm not really sure how you could make it better... maybe something more like the Grenade Launchers from the Destroyer kit? I don't know, I ran into the same issue.

The cliffhangers look great - I like the subtle differences between the armor and the crabby bits underneath.

I think the kitbashes look good, i understand the interest in creating unique models. I think the plague caster conversion is particularly effective - it's a good transformation.

I haven't worked with any of the plague marine kits like Dusk Raider has, but I thought the blight launcher conversion looks to fine. The stock ones look a lot like short barreled heavy bolters with grenade launcher type ammo. If you do tinker with it, you might look at the ammo - maybe cut the existing ammo drum and add some plastic tubing to connote grenades.

I think the heavy bolter works well. I like the variation.

Maybe cutting and moving the ammo drum back further on the bolter, shortening the weapon, and doing a longer version of the plasticard barrel would make it look like the GW kit. Saves on buying bits and puts those HH heavy bolters to use for the DG.

The three make for an awesome squad! The one with the converted DG emblem has to be my favourite once again, mostly for how much I still love your recipe for converting that chapter badge ;)

Did you add some touchups to the Daemon Prince's helmet after all, by the way?

Cheers, guys!

I finished the two Plague Surgeons!

I hope you like them. It was tons of fun painting these creepers.

Comments most welcome!

Cheers!

@ Sgt. Blank: Great Idea! I added some GreenStuff tentacle tubing to the last Blight Launcher I kitbashed. Pictures incoming. :)

@ hushrong: Cheers, buddy! Yeah that's an option. I even thought about putting the Death Guard Terminators'blight launcher on a marine, but in the end I'm confident that the addition of a tentacle distinguished the HB enough from its new form as a Blight Launcher.

@ KrautScientist: You're so predictable! Of course you like the emblem one the most! ;) I haven't gotten round to the DP's helmet. I'll do that, keep reminding me like you did with the Blootthirster's face and I will get round to it :tu: :D

@ KrautScientist: You're so predictable! Of course you like the emblem one the most! I haven't gotten round to the DP's helmet. I'll do that, keep reminding me like you did with the Blootthirster's face and I will get round to it :biggrin.:

Ah, that's quite alright then, seeing how that Bloodthirster face only took about a year of reminders ;)

As for the Plague Surgeons, what a hideous duo -- excellent work! I do think the Elder may have yet another hair on his face, though ;)

I really like the Younger: There's something about that squat helmet of his that really speaks to me. Maybe you could suggest a bloody handprint somewhere on his filthy smock?!

Anyway, fantastic work, as per :)

Just have to say I have literally been going through each page of this thread for the past week and WOW all I can say is man this has been super impressive and awe inspiring! Your ability to churn out models and is insane. Your models are beautiful even if creepy as hell (the Nurgle ones) but seeing each model it’s clear that you have your vision of what you want this force to be and thank you for sharing that. I have to go stare at my iron warriors that are patiently waiting to be built/ and painted. Keep up the awesome work brother!!

I'd have commented sooner - but i've decided I can't trust my phones autocorrect function or my fat fingers...... so I had to go grab the laptop. I'm just amazed how quickly you are smashing through this vow! I need to up my ETL action to keep the AOD in the game!!

Great work on individualising the Blight Haulers -- my initial thoughts limited myself to using the spare face plates on the Bloat Drone, but I really like what you've done with them and the Bloat Drones. I've got a spare DI drone lounging around, not sure when I'll get around to it - but I'll be sure to consider your conversions when I do.

I really love the Plague Surgeon made from the DI Bightbringer - inspired choice, the tabard makes an awesome 'apron' - I'm kind of gutted I didn't think of that myself! Once the ETL is out of the way I'll have to emulate model in my own DG force and I'll name him in your honour!

When my friend said to me I should move my Possessed thread from Thousand Sons to somewhere with more traffic and I suggested WIP, I think his words were "Wow ok, Go right ahead champ...". I didnt know what he meant then as Id never checked the WIP section before (I'm relatively new to being active on a forum at all) ... I think I do now though.

There are some pretty daunting threads here, this one not being an exception and I'm not going to pretend I've read 182 pages of it to get this far. I'm late to the party, so I'll just start commending on the recent stuff and scan the other stuff at my leisure.  I had heard your name from my friend before, he mentions some of his favourites to me regularly, these are fast becoming mine too.

These are wicked, I love these Plague Surgeons. So much character in them, I love the idea that they would wear aprons on, despite having some pretty gross armour on already.  The Models are ace and I really like the paint jobs.  I'll be sure to keep coming back, if not for inspiration, then just for the eye candy. Very cool, thanks for sharing with everyone.

As ever, your output means I'm playing catch up. You less garish (than the GW studio) scheme really suits those Plague Surgeon models, good use of Fabius Bile bits on the elder.

Very taken with the additions and alterations on your blighthaulers to differentiate models that do suffer from being too indentikit.
