Hahaha it's because you're so young! I've gone for faded blue because that was the colour of the original cardboard Necromunda terrain!

My Sector Mechanicus board will have much the same vibe as this - you can be sure of it!

Good to hear you're building some miniatures. Are you in a campaign? Wanna join mine?

Necromunda sounds like so much fun! But hella complicated lol. I never got into the specialist games when I was younger. They always seemed very expensive, complicated and scary lol.

I defo think I will be dipping my toe in the necromunda pool though. Think I'll wait till the ash wasters are released.

Anyway keep up the good work and keep the updates coming!

You're barely old enough to be my dad, you're still young yourself.

Would love to jump in whenever the next cycle starts, that should give me some time to finish my gang.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Good to be back.

I thought it'd be nice to share some close ups of the Necromunda ZM terrain with you:

It took me about as long to get the doors and barricades to a finished state as it took me to do the entire set of walls. Jeez they suck. But they're finished now and I'm stoked to play a game on it!

Wooooo

Cheers, and Happy Easter!

@ the emperor is scottish: Thanks for the comment dude! I'm glad I inspire you but please could you not quote the entire post - it's really not necessary to force everyone to see and scroll through the whole thing twice. :) Necromunda isn't really that complicated - not moreso than 40K or any other GW game. Have ago at it!

@ guardian31: The extra arms will feauture muscle and fur to match the rest of the monster. I also think I'll be adding some kind of ribbon and/or chain to it. ;)

@ Maarten: Really? Are you that young? Or am I that old? You're welcome to come in for a game anytime, bud!

@ rednekkboss: Cheers! It's not as scary as a goose, but let's not frighten the entire Underhive with those monsters, shall we?

Oh man. I need to catch up on your log but I must say the Necromunda goodies are ace!

The watchers look great but that khimerix you are assembling is an utter monster!

The terrain is also fantastic! I’m digging that TTCombat stuff for heralds of ruin. I had something similar for Infinity and really enjoyed it. Also, the Necromunda/ZM board is to die for.

And congrats on the move!

Welcome back Auggs. The new terrain looks awesome! :tu:

Re age: You're around the same age as my older brother. That's not old at all  My father has around 15 or so years on you mate, and he's not old either  Oldness is a state of mind as well as actual age.

Augustus! Glad to see you're still alive and kicking, brother. Had to take a while to filter through everything I've missed and you certainly never fail to disappoint! I'm digging the work on your Escher girls, man. Very solid work.

Was asked on Instagram and Facebook what the paint recipe is for the terrain, so here it is for your viewing pleasure as well:

BLUE
- Basecoat GW The Fang Spray can
- Shade with a light airbrush spray of VMA Insignia/Signal Blue or GW Kantor Blue
- Highlight spray with GW Russ Grey
- Edge Highlight with Molotow ONE4ALL™ 227HS 4mm Ceramic Light Pastel
- rivets with Molotow 1,5mm Metallic Silver marker (that's about 2500 dots in two days....)

METAL PARTS
- 1:1 mix of AP Gun Metal and AP Rough Iron
- highlight with Molotow 1,5mm Metallic Silver marker
- wash with GW Agrax Earthshade

HAZARD STRIPES
- GW Averland Sunset and AP Matt Black

WEATHERING
- grime under-layer is a light airbrush spray of a 1:1:1 mix of GW Rhinox Hide, AP Matt Black, and VMA Rust
- chipping damage is a sponging with GW Rhinox Hide, then to simulate exposed metal, add a stripe or dot with a Molotox 1,5mm Metallic Silver marker
- Streaking with Molotow 1.5mm markers in Lobster and DARE orange colours

LIGHTS
- Green: airbrush GW Moot Green, mixing in with and up to GW Flash Gitz Yellow
- Red: airbrush GW Mephiston Red mixing in with and up to GW Flash Gitz Yellow

Cheers!

@ hushrong: Thanks a lot for everything! Glad you like the necro stuff. :smile.:

@ Gederas: I have a tile that says (translated to English): You don't stop gaming as you get older; you get older when you stop gaming.

@ Bjorn Firewalker: Thank you!

@ Noctus Cornix: Cheers, buddy! Thanks for stopping by again. :smile.:

Cheers, guys!

Had my first game ofg Zone Mortalis Necromunda today, against my buddy Willem's Genestealer cult. 't Was an awesome game!

ywg7FnB.jpg

The highlight was my Chem Thrower ganger first failing her Chem Synth check, but then proceed to gas both his flamer Ganger and his Leader, and making both toxin rolls anyway despite both of them having a respirator, then rolling a skull for both of them, AND then rolling 66 for both of them - meaning both were D. E. D. dead. Ouch. I also captured one of his Abberants and let it go on the condition that he leave his power pick.

And hey-ho guess what my new new Champion will now be armed with, besides her Shotgun?

Also, I finished the build of the Khimerix, Daisy. I'll try and paint her tomorrow. I need to, because I just paid the credits for her, and she's now officially a part of my gang!

Hurray!

Let me know what you think.

@ helterskelter: Cheers! What do you think of Daisy?

@ Hungry Nostraman Lizard: Well, it's not the most expensive MDF Zone Mortalis wall set, but believe you me that I spent a LOT of cash to get it to this state. It's not just the walls, it's also the Molotow markers, the resin doors and wall consoles, and boy does MDF soak up paint. Even after spraying it with thinned wood glue, it still soaked up three bottles of GW Spray Paint. So I wouldn't exactly call it cheap. Cheap would be not to buy the walls at all and just use the ZM boards with the imaginary walls.

Always fun to start a game where your own dice want to see your hurt!  The pic of the game looks great and future battle reports would be fantastic with painted minis and terrain.

Looking forward to seeing how you paint Daisy up. And it seems you are putting the spoils of battle to good use already.

Au contraire, mon cheri, everything turned out Milhouse for this game. Killing two of the biggest threats with one shot is pretty much perfect. And the cool thing was that that same chem thrower ganger had been shot in the face by a heavy stubber the turn before. It failed to wound. She stood up and made that counter shot. Best moment.

There I go not knowing how to ready the only language I know fluently again.

I totally skimmed that and misread thinking the chem thrower blew up and took the leader with her. My bad because that young lady is building up some serious street cred!

Oh man, and here was me thinking that no one was bothering with 'Munda because the Necromunda section was so quiet....I never thought to look in the WIP section.

Great work and thank you for sharing your progress......and it's good to see another Escher gang making their mark in the Underhive

Daisy is finished! Here's my Escher Khimerix - what happens when a Gorilla, a Tiger, and the Predator have a threesome.

I hope you like! I'm sure my gang's opponents don't! :D

Lemme know, interested to hear your opinions on the colour scheme.

@ hushrong: haha no worries. That lady actually already has three advancements. Sadly, it's +1 move (handy for sure) but also +1 Leadership and +1 Intelligence... Less functional. Although the intelligence boost does make it easier for her to make her chem synth test, which makes her chem thrower more effective!

@ Aita: Maybe Daisy will finally get you to come over?

@ teku: Gibraltar is a long ways away still! It's at the end of September. I'm now in a whatsapp group with all members, and they're continually sharing their work. And it puts me to shame. Seriously, it's like you're in a group with 'Eavy Metal painters who dish out armies in a couple weeks.... :O

@ Castigator: hey buddy! Long time no see here! Yeah I'm nut much for opening multiple threads and keeping track of every one. I'll just keep this one. :)

Daisy is perfect! The added limbs you modeled look even better with paint blending all the work together. I am also thinking a xenomorph snuck in there and made it a foursome looking at that tail! Regardless of lineage I am looking forward to battle reports of her ripping opponents apart.

Lady Chem has already established herself then! Need to think of an Escher term for "made man" as she sounds like she has quite the history of being a killer. Know that I'll be rooting for her in the streets!

Yeah, I've pretty much written off 40k under 8th edition (I was close to being lured back in when they released the new Chaos Marines but the bloatware put me off)....fortunately Necromunda has kept me entertained for the last 18 months and shown me that GW can still make a game that's interesting and fun.

Loving the Khimaerax, I thought about using the same model myself, but dismissed it because I thought I'd only use the head. It never occurred to me to make use of the body as well and embrace the Gene-splicing origins of their background.....I might have to steal this idea now

Your colour scheme is spot on and I really like the colour variation on the fur, she looks wonderfully predatory and is sure to intimidate the Pixies' rivals.

Great work!
