Olis
Holy Emperor's armpits, brother, this is awesome. Quite a singular idea, I think. Ace Debonair
By the Throne, a bike that doubles as a mobile armoury. That's... incredible. I'm out of words. That's just gonna be so damn cool when it's finished! madscuzzy
More work on the techmarine. The body is actually a very old one, made together with the first bike. It wasn't selected as it was a bit too... square, but fit a techmarine well. Finally it gets used, yay! :D http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0213.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0214.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3615543 Share on other sites
Kronus Stormbringer
Quite possibly some of the best work ive seen on the B&C simply awesome work mate Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3615657 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
Worked on the head... as per suggested by a friend. He thought it would be cool if I did the techmarine overlapping plates on the faceplate, similar to how I do my marines helms, but smoother. Still have some touching up to do though... http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0248.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0245.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0242.jpg Worked on the front of the bike too... same prow, but replacing the center with a beamer from the FW. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/front.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3620475 Share on other sites

One-eye
Wow, that's dedication to conversion. Don't even know what to say, it's the most ambitious converted jetbike I've ever seen... Master Toddius
Excellent to see you back at it again, M'Scuzzy. Its nice to be reminded of the old school way of developing great concept prototypes. Very inspiring. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3621277 Share on other sites
Squeaky
Wow that's awesome :) love how you mounted the beamer bet that was a pig Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3621303 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
Haha thanks! The beamer was a gambit. I used the contemptor version. Overall it is... large, so I had to chop down the back. I am thinking the one from the Astral Claws MotF might be a better fit, and much easier to use, but spares of that is... difficult to get. I will mount it to the chassis of a bike body with an extension, similar to the first 2 bikes, but am thinking of putting the tracks on the outside. Playing around with the MKII gave me the inspiration for this. @Master Toddius... old school way? Great concept prototypes? Not really sure what you mean... A lot of this is just trail and error. @Squeaky... I'm sorry, but I don't see any pigs here...? (I really don't get the term, sorry) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3621603 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
Added the body. It was essentially the same as the MkII but with the wheels on the outside. The Conversion Beamer back was mounted directly to the chassis of the bike... so it can't turn. I am thinking of the front be Anti-Grav, ala a half-track (solving the turning issue... I think). http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9930.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9947.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9942.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9944.jpg The back has the drive train mounted with some vertical traverse... some suspension, with independent drive, thanks to some landspeeder lights! The exhaust is from a Baal Flamer turret. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9946.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3624305 Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
That's looking pretty sweet madscuzzy, the independent suspension in the back is really class. madscuzzy
Thanks, although it was quite a quick fix. I realized I didn't plan for the suspension properly in the first place, but this does help make it look the part, so I am happy with it. Squeaky
Wow that's awesome love how you mounted the beamer bet that was a pig Sorry I meant pain... lack of sleep can do that to me though a pig could be a pain.. anyway great progress on the bike :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3624639 Share on other sites

madscuzzy
Playing around with the chassis, it felt... plain. I tried boxes like the MKII but it didn't feel right. In the end I had the idea of putting more engines on the back, so here is what I came up with. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9952.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9972.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9975.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3626774 Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
How about a shot of the engine exhausts from the rear? You're leaving out pictures of a major component of a silhouette- and one that could very well change opinions on them. From what I can see? They work. I feel that the rear treads need some kind of cowling though like on a 1929 Model 125 roadster - no real protection, but pleasing aesthetically. madscuzzy
Change opinions on them? I did try making some cowlings, but it felt very... broad. This one felt more, sexy IMHO. madscuzzy
Worked on the front. As this is meant to be a hover front, I worked on the repulsors and stuff... http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9979.jpg I'll work on the back a bit more in the future... It can be seen in some angles. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9990.jpg The base is modeled so the tracks are the only things touching, so the front will be off the ground. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9993.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_9998.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286803-scuzzies-conversion-thread-~-10-may-16-~-cypher/page/3/#findComment-3631914 Share on other sites

madscuzzy
And here is the servo-harness. http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0261.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0263.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0265.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0266.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0268.jpg The harness does add to the feel of the bike. The silhouette is quite... interesting. Some of my friends have said that it is quite... over-the-top, which I quite like. I am thinking to add more one servo-arm on the bike itself, on the back... http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0273.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0275.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0277.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0279.jpg http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0284.jpg And here is the back view, as someone requested? http://scuzworks.com/SL40K/WIP/LandTrain_MKIII_WIP/IMG_0282.jpg There's still more to add, like the hole in the chest, the rivets, purity seals, symbols etc., so stay tuned!
