Wow, what a cracking landraider! It's nice to see you giving the Sororitas some attention! Please don't judge me if I decide to have a go at a similar vehicle in the future :) I just love those exit hatches so so much! I....must....replicate :p

@secretpaintgeek - TBH, there shouldn't be anything to be envious about (although yeah, while some people will be envious of my buddy, I like to think of it as mutual.. benefits.Ā  I can emotionally blackmail him in the future! mwahahahaha).Ā  But I believe anyone can really do these, if they are willing to put their mind to it.Ā  I know back then when I started, there were a lot of things that I wouldn't want to do, and would like things done fast... that there were shortcuts to achieving success.Ā  Sadly, there are none.Ā  It is all about sitting down and doing the work.Ā  The shortcut comes in areas where you know how you yourself can work better, but there isn't an 'easy way out'.Ā  All rivets have to be individually chopped, glued and pasted on.Ā  In this form of modelling, I utilize a lot of putty and sanding to get the 'perfect' finish... but that is my process.Ā  Other folks like say, subtle discord, can do up a finish without sanding like I do.Ā  I can't cut a perfect line with a knife, and so I work with what I can and how I can.Ā  I may be slower, but as long as I can achieve the result I want, I don't mind (of course I will always try to find a better way to do things, but that's my journey.)

As for what is next... hmmmm well... I do have a lot of projects in my head.Ā  Right now I am working on a Reaver, but that's not really conversion work, so nothing really new to see.Ā  XDĀ  Perhaps my knight, or thunderfire.Ā  But I do have my Eldar Valkyrie to do, my ork vehicleS, my tau suits... yeah... busy long long (considering I only churn out 3-4 pieces per year?)

Ā

@darth mustard, reckoning34 - Thanks!

@greyall - sure... would you like to collect that tear for any particular ritual(s)?

@smurfben - Oh no worries.Ā  Honestly like i said, I can't claim much.Ā  Not all the designs are original.Ā  The arrow stairs was my buddy's idea, the sides were... well, google images is a good source of inspiration/reference.Ā Ā  My only real input is implementation and details.Ā  I would love to see yiours though!

@chaptermasterdemon7 - so who's the heretic?

  • 4 months later...

Hey... so yeah, new updates!Ā  Kinda decided to work on a Librarian version of the big bike.Ā  Most of you know how the main bike body was built by now so I won't be touching the core much... just the additions...:)

Ā

I wanted to give the bike a psychic hood... so here it is!

Ā

I started with making a form out of epoxy putty to build over.Ā  I figured I could carve down the curved shape easier than forming it entirely of pla-plate.Ā Ā

Ā

Skinned it with thin pla-plate.

Ā

I added a thicker stripe of pla to help add depth to the curve.

Ā

The strip was smaller which allowed me to create a chamfer out of epoxy putty.

Ā

Stay tuned...

More details to the bike psychic hood!Ā  Added a trench to put some pipes in later.Ā  Needed a trench in the body to fit the disks.

More updates!

Ā

I had to remove the side disks as I had to get the hood to fit at a nice angle with a test rider on the bike body.Ā  The angle I originally had it at wouldn't fit the backpack.Ā  :(

Is that what it is called?Ā  I've always just assumed it's an air intake.Ā  There is actually one on the MotRW Jetbike, but it is quite recessed, so I can't see how it would work.Ā  I just raised it by making a new one... in a design I like.

Worked on the libby!

Ā

I carved out the trim on one side and flattened the other.Ā  One thing I like about marine bikers is that the legs are actually larger than the typical, so there's always material to work with.

Ā

The collar is made from pla-tube.Ā  I built up the sides to create a more encompassing hood.Ā

Libby itself is more or less done... might add stuff on it a bit more later... The eagle head annoys the hell out of a buddy of mine.Ā  He finds it silly.Ā  I can see that but it's... so cute...

Ā

Added more detail on the bike hood.Ā  It felt plain behind and I felt it needed something more... techy... as it is a giant hood after all.

Ā

Randomly added chains to a book.Ā  Not sure where this would go... maybe the sides?

If there isn't a word to say madness and skill at the same time, I propose Madscuzzy for it.

This libby is awesome, and the bike maybe even better. The amount of dedication and work that you put in this single mini is impressive.

Ā

It would be truly inspiring if not way beyond my skill :)
