Thanks, Slaanbull.

Things have been very busy recently with both work and family so I've only been able to work on one of the two Daemonette squads (at work in my lunch hour).

What progress I do have to show:

The Alluress

med_gallery_63428_9407_29921.jpg

Still to do: etherblade, nails/horns (those white toenails are NOT final!), mask and the cloth trim of `her` loincloth.

And her sisters (who are a couple of steps behind painting-wise):

Thanks!

Indeed,

Some lighter colours are needed.

Loin cloths will be pastel pink to tie them into the Psychopomp marines.

Masks will be pale green. I'm hoping to make them look jade.

Horns/nails...probably just work from brown to cream and give a brown wash.

As for the etherblade's blade I'm still a bit undecided....

I'll paint it something like the two daggers I gave my semi-serpent sorcerer, but what colour? Perhaps a pale blue.

Thanks for the comments. I must post som more WIP soon. The two squads of Daemonettes are coming along well, the masked ones nearing completion.

And to cut among story short I now have a box of Gors to be converted into pistol-&-CCW Slaangor cultists. I'm undecided whether I'll eventually paint them with human skin tones and black tattoos or go for pastel skin tones.

I must consult RoC: Slaves to Darkness.

The first squad are nearly finished, but things have been busy so progress is slow...

Still to do:

leather areas (gloves on some of them, basically. I'm thinking black, though highlighted blue rather than grey).

pink areas (the trim of chainmail tabards. Pastel pink here).

Alluress' knife.

Gold hilts on all knives.

Jade masks.

Actually, as the Daemonettes are on the dark side I might go the opposite with the Slaangor and go for a very pale skintone, with black tattooing. They won't be started for a while anyway.

And I've been thinking, as my stack of (unbuilt) Chaos boxes (and some Eldar) rises higher and higher, I might postpone entering Armies on Parade until next year: give myself time to get more models done (my pace is painfully slow these days), do the baseboard right...and in another year I hope (I never like to use that word. First step on the road to disappointment and all that...) a huge Keeper of Secrets model will come out...

That first squad:

I'm doing their loincloths now then there's just their masks and the Alluress' blade and they're done.

Their bases:

rims need black...and some will have chopped up Eldar, blood splatters....I once saw someone blacken the grass under and around the feet of his Daemons and it looked really good. I'm tempted to give it a try myself, though with the Daemons being rather dark anyway it might not look burned...then again it might just look like a dark aura, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

med_gallery_63428_9407_56205.jpgmed_gallery_63428_9407_166555.jpg

The grass is deliberately rather lush, as it's supposed to be an Eldar maidenworld that they're on.

WIPs of half of the second Daemonette squad:

While the masked squad had a red shade on their claws and purple on their armour, these ones got blue on their claws and red on their armour. As with the masked ones, these will get light pink loincloths, and like the Noise Marines with topknots: light pastel colour hair (greens, blues, purples, perhaps red).

Aaaaand, while taking a break from painting, I did some more work on my Dark Apostle...

med_gallery_63428_9407_370659.jpg

The helmet was just put on him there for the purpose of this photo. It will be on his base (as below) but I wanted to get one photo of him actually wearing it before I cut the bottom flat and put it on the base.

The dark grey spike thing you can see sticking out from the reclining Daemonette's rear is her tail.

The spiky stick currently stabbed into blu-tack to the Apostle's left will be his `crozius`, held by a tentacle emerging from the left vent of his backpack.

So much yes...

You really understand Slaanesh. May your most perverse fantasies come to life, friend.

Thank you!

I just had a thought:

I can raise the Apostle's right hand a little, remove her head...

And put a chain around her neck, the other end onto the hook on the back of his right pauldron...?

Very cool work Kier! The Apostle looks great, very good ideas for him indeed I'm keen to see him done :D The metal on the Daemonette's works very well with the purple, nice bases too. Makes me want to get back to my CSM (again) but the ETL comes first

Thank you!

Yes. Yes you can. Though I would submit (!) that he should be holding the chain. FWIW, I plan to represent Daemon Weapons in my warband by having the mini in question holding a chain attached to a collared Daemonette. I can't wait to do my counts-as Abaddon...

I am totally ripping off your pet Daemonette idea, but must ask what you plan to do about her hands?

Thank you.

The Daemonette on his base has one human hand and the other I replaced with a claw, as I did with my two squads of 'regular' Daemonettes (as I wanted them to hold knives and whips as well as having their claws). Her feet are still humanoid, but then again so are the feet of one of the squads too.

I think I'll end the chain on the pauldron hook as I want him with his hand on her head. Is she is slave? A sacrifice? A concubine? The Apostle himself seems to be half Daemonette...

Eventually in Inspiration Friday I'll get around to telling his tale. :)

Ah the Night Lord Squad Leader helm!!! You sir have a solved a problem I have had since HH5 was released!

If that problem was whether or not to buy that helmet set then I thoroughly recommend it. :tu:

I'm not sure how I'll use the other nine helmets...perhaps five for a third Noise Marine squad, four for Havocs.

And the first of my two squads of Children of Slaanesh, Debauched Ones, Seekers of Decadence, Bringers of Joyous Degradation, Givers of Indescribable Delight, Q'tlahs'itsu'aksho...the Peris, the Jaded Ladies themselves...are complete:

Hopefully the gore (kept sparse) and the burned grass under their feet shows up well enough.

And the rest

med_gallery_63428_9407_399034.jpg

Whoops, spilled a bit of claret there, girl.

And one of my favourites:

med_gallery_63428_9407_317527.png

The pink works well with the purple as well as being a good colour anyway, the bases came out great too :D Can't make out the gore too well though? What's next on the list?

Thanks. I did keep the gore to a minimum, but I'll take some photos against a black background sometime; that should help it show up.

Next up is the other ten Daemonettes (Daemonette heads on Dark Elf Witch bodies). They're a fair way along now: hair, leather, eyes, teeth, Alluress' aetherblade and bases to do.

I did get th chaos spawn finished on Monday night, photographed it last night and tried to upload photos...but our WiFi was playing up. If it had simply been dead it would have been better; I could have got on with painting, but instead it was painfully slow. A great many expletives were shed.

Hopefully tonight I can post the photos.

Slannesh Daemon are looking really cool.  Really impress with the Dark Apostle conversion, I'm looking forward see the model all painted.

What future plans do you have for your warband?

Thanks!

I won't be doing Dark Apostle Angra in the ETL as I don't want to rush him. Once the second squad of Daemonettes are done...I might have one or two more spawn completed with enough time to vow them.

Other units in the pile-of-boxes:

10 Slaangor cultists

8 more Daemonettes for each of the current squads

1 herald of Slaanesh

1 rhino

1 noise marine squad tooled up for close assault

1 biker Lord

4 more bikers

1 havoc squad with autocannons

1 maulerfiend

1 chaos assassin

...oh and a custom Dreadclaw with a Slaanesh touch :D

And not yet bought, but I'd like to get:

Cypher

Dark Angels Fallen (got the FW combiweapons specifically for them)
