Carrack
Pose C for the champ, yelling at a severed head will be more visually catching than the beastman axe, so I think the head should be held high. Teetengee
I like B, C seems a little strange: why is he shouting at a head in his hand? Also, shaving the wood grain on at least some of the weapons would probably help them fit in more with the 40k aesthetic. Res Ipsa Loquitur
I'm a big fan of the chain. Definitely going to pinch that idea. Perhaps you could have some in a chain box-tie? I'm planning to do that for a few of my 'Cultists'. Might not work for you as yours have weapons, my 'Cultists' are counts-as Horrors so having arms bound behind their back doesn't pose logistical challenges. WarriorFish
Yep. Getting pretty weird down here now... :P If you've got a head, best be holding it up for all to see. Otherwise everyone will post pictures up on Chaosbook and mock you for doing it wrong. Who would want that shame? Kierdale
Thanks for the input. I went with holding up the head and shouting at it. And I finished the third spawn today (and thus my second and final ETL4 vow). First up a shot of the base sans-model, to show the burned grass. And here it/they is... The mouth on the side (where an arm should be) came out better than I expected. It's the first time I've tried to sculpt something like it. And if one arm on one side and four inside wasn't enough, something's trying to claw its way out the rear too... And finally...PEEKABOO! And one of the three spawn all together. What a happy family. WarriorFish
I'm pretty sure you'll get arrested when you try to put these on the table The Chaos gods and their gifts, eh? I think you can safely say you've got a good handle on the sculpting, they'll be surely attracting a disproportionate amount of fire on the table top as your opponent tries to remove them from sight ASAP. Well done, if that can be the right term for models that are so horrible to look at Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/12/#findComment-4122338 Share on other sites

Teetengee
Idk, I think they are kind of beautiful. In their own horrible way. Some of them might have a little better composition, but still, I really like how they came out. 1000 Sons
Disgustingly beautiful, if we were playing a game and I killed those spawn and you asked me to pass them to you, I would have to say,' no, you come over here and pick them up yourself, I don't want to touch them' hehehe. Kierdale
Thank you! It looks like I succeeded then: I hope they disgust my opponent and hence attract as much fire as possible :D While the fourth spawn ("The Kiss") isn't finished, I'm going to put it to one side for a bit. I want to finish off my ten Noise Marines finally, and at work I'm making the Slaangor. I'm itching to get started on a vehicle after basing the NMs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/12/#findComment-4122806 Share on other sites
Kierdale
I have about 11 of 20 Slaangor built. I decided to give some holstered pistols, some spare laspistols...and for fun to scratchbuild some autopistols... This one's mag(s) look bent in the first pic but not in the second. They're not. Still need to add a small foresight. Standard bearer gets a tommy gun (with spare drum on his belt). One made from a (heavily) cut down bolt pistol. Others got, as I said, laspistols... And some got upgrades to their close combat weapons... Oh, and one last one...Judging by the look of him, I Dredd to think where he got that weapon... Suggestions for more autopistol styles are most welcome :) WarriorFish 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/12/#findComment-4131467 Share on other sites

Kierdale
The White bits are two sizes of cotton buds (q-tips in North America? Menbo here in Japan. Them things wot you use to clean yer lugs with!). The larger tubes are from adult-sized ones, the thinner rods are from child's cotton buds. The latter slips perfectly into the former :tu: Good for barrels, pistons, pipes, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/12/#findComment-4132242 Share on other sites
Teetengee
I don't think we have child size ones in N. America. Also, they are clearly labeled as not for ears. :p I am glad you have found their true purpose. Aasfresser
I like them. They look very crude and beastman-y. But where's the paint? Also, what about that cool Dark Apostle? I really want to see him and his lady-friends in colour. Also, nipples. Where are the nipples on your beasmen? Most of them seem to miss them. Slaanesh would not approve. Once I've built the 20 Slaangor I have I'll probably paint them in two sets of ten (or three sets of ten if I end up buying another box )...though I might paint a different model before them. Such as that Dark Apostle. He does keep staring at me from his position on my workspace's shelf. As for the nippular question, most of the Slaangor do have them (though some of the left ones got cut off as the sprues connect to the bodies at around that point. Those can be a painted back on if necessary). Some have them pierced, some have them replaced with metal spikes. I may GS some breasts onto one or two. Right side only. Wouldn't want to get the Dark Prince's disapproval. Kierdale
...sure do make for soft landings... ...sayeth my WIP Herald of Slaanesh. I like to think she caught him midair and is stomping him down onto some ruins. While the rest of the troupe will be made as if fighting the acrobatic squad of Daemonettes on the final Armies on Parade board (not that I'll be posting photos of the Harlequins here. Perhaps on my Flickr) I never liked the pose of the troupe master and then had the above posing/basing idea. Still to do: erm...lots. Lots more rubble on base. Rough up the harlie (torn coat, etc. Already put a cut on his mask). The Herald herself will be quite the conversion... Teetengee
The herald looks like she should be quite dynamic. I am excited to see how this turns out. As for 1000 sons's comment. oldschoolsavant
Heh, all that popped into my head was thon Beastman shouting in gutteral tongue at the Lawgiver (for hi-ex), it replying with a succession of error beeps, and eventually being thrown at someone in frustration...... I just cheated and bought cheap cultists for their weapons.
