Kierdale - Noise Marines & Daemons update are really cool.Â
What units are you thinking putting forward for this year Call of Chaos?

Actually I haven't worked on the Scythes in a long time (I only ever got five marines and a rhino done) and it's likely they'll be stripped and repainted for a new project sometime in the future. Not telling any more now though.
Â
Likely just the 20 Slaangor, to be honest. My marines take too much time and too many colours!Kierdale - Noise Marines & Daemons update are really cool.Â

The 20 Slaangor are build and undercoated. Just got to get their bases ready, but for now they're going away in a (self-made cheapo carry-)case unti CoC starts.
I also started on some more Daemonettes.
With this one I firstly wanted to use this head as I've never particularly liked it so I wanted to see if I could make myself like it. I now do. Secondly I realised that all the Dark-Elf-Witch-body Daemonettes I've done so far are pretty much all looking forwards. I tried turning this one's head and I like the change it made to the whole pose.
Base rubble from Harlequins.
I've been making some of them too for the final Armies on Parade board, posing them as if fighting these Daemonettes. Will add photos to my Flickr eventually.
Once the murderclowns and more Daemonettes are made then I'll get on to painting the Herald and her base.
I'm a bit late to the party here, but man the Eldar Guardian getting shivved on the knee spike is absolutely savage. I love it. The colour scheme in general looks awesome too. :)
Absolutely lovely, lovely noise marines and daemonettes here, Kierdale. I am sad to say I hadn't checked out this thread since page 8, but also glad, as I got to see all your wonderful progress in one glorious go.

Now please start finishing that fantastic dark apostle you constructed a couple pages back! :tu:
Thanks, ChaosReigns and Augustus.
Alright, alright, I'll get on with the dark apostle soon. Though my birthday is coming and I think I've got two Rhinos on the way, with the one I already have to make I'd best make all at once (as once made they'll all fit in the box of one, rather than there being three large wife-noticeable, space-taking boxes lying about our small apartment).
I've vowed my twenty Slaangor as two units of ten each, and my dark apostle for this year's Call of Chaos.
Today's work on the Slaangor...
As yet unpainted four. Will be Fulgrim Pink.
Emperor's Children pink - just the first coat.
Bubblegum pink four.
Petal Pink four.
And Carousel Pink four. This photo doesn't really show it but that is a seriously shocking pink.
And four of the painted ones together to show the different shades.
All will be lightened and toned down, and shaded of course.
Likely I'll be adding black tattoos for contrast.
If that picture doesn't show how shocking the colour is I wonder how it looks in real life... I like the idea of different shades that's something I'll have to steal should I ever get round to Daemonettes :)
Yeash, nice idea to give the hides a slightly different hue. :tu:
The skin of the Slaangor is done (white drybrushes, pink and purple glazes/thinned shades, drybrushes, shades...repeat) and I'll be starting their tattoos tomorrow.
The apostle's tentacles (from his backpack's left vent, holding his crozius) are also done (GS) and I'll undercoat him soon.
Aaaaand for my birthday last week I got some kits. Two Chaos rhinos and a razorback. The latter will be used for my Mentor Legion while the former will be dedicated to Slaanesh. However, I need three rhinos so, as I'm abandoning my Scythes of the Emperor (I only ever got a rhino and five marines done) I'm going to strip the Scythes rhino and do it up as a third one for the Psychopomps. I have something special in mind for it, too: it'll be a rhino they captured. I think I saw some fleur-de-lis broach-parts at the local craft shop I can make press-moulds from...
But for now, one of the two `birthday` rhinos:
The havoc launcher is removable and can be replaced with a simple hatch. The left cupola is also removable so I can put in other armament (combi-whatever) as necessary. I had to shave down the sides of both cupola a little so I could fit both in there.
Wait, what's that on the front...?
It's a captured wood elf sorceresss Biel Tan warlock!
A good birthday then, great work converting the Rhino the GS work is very nice. Makes me wish my project wasn't stalled otherwise I'd be all over it. Keep up the excellent work :tu:
Thanks. I realise it is somewhat stereotypical tentacle-nastiness but I figured I may as well have one such rhino. There will be two more rhinos, each a little different (got started on the next one today).
I undercoated the tentacle-rhino, dark apostle and herald of Slaanesh, and my Scythes of the Emperor rhino went into the Simple Green bath. If I can get some fleur-de-lis emblems from the craft shop, it'll be converted into a former-Sisters of Battle rhino that the Psychopomps...acquired...
Some WIP on my Slaangor.
13 now have the base black of their tattoos done. I should be able to finish the other 7 tomorrow and then next week get on to highlighting the tattoos in grey, then on to hair...
I'm thinking of doing their fur natural brown tones, but their head hair/beards pastels (a-la the topknots of my noise marines and the hair of my daemonettes).
Pardon the small images quickly snapped at work.
The only one I'm not happy with is the head tattoos of the second from the right in the bottom row there. I should have just left the black around the eyes. Not sure what made me do round his mouth and join them along the cheeks. I'll change it tomorrow as it keeps bothering me.
EDIT: I also edited a link into the first post of this thread, to the Liber Astartes article I did with all the warband's background and info.
Really dig those gor!
Those pinks are so fancy too, damn!
Â
I dig all the eyeliner/mouthliner/stuff. My Beastmen would be proud to call those guys cousins!
Edited by GoodwinThey look nice, coming along well. I like the Rhino idea, if you have any SoB players locally they should have bits and bobs spare by the bucket as the Immolator kit is quite bountiful :) I think the eye stuff is fine, it was something I wanted to do for my Slaaneshi stuff but I don't have the skill for such detail. Maybe he just likes the war paint a bit more than his friends? Or wants to start a band :P
Thanks, WarriorFish.
You and Augustus convinced me to have another look at that Slaangor before adjusting his facial tattoos. I did have another look and he's fine from other angles and not so bad from the front. I put it down to a bad photo.
Your band comment and Augustus's Kiss comment did make me add more eye tattoos...
...including this one :D
I'll be highlighting the tattoos next week then getting on to hair/fur.
Unfortunately I don't know of any SoB players in my area, but I did get a Fleur-De-Lis charm today while I'll make a press mould of with Oyumaru and the GS myself some for putting on the Rhino, and perhaps some more of these...
Like I used on my Punisher
The tentacle rhino is undercoated white. Once I've gotten the second rhino ready I'll paint the two at once. The ex-SoB rhino is still in Simple Green. Hopefully I can have that ready so I can do all three at once.
