Kierdale
Thanks, Midnight Runner. I was at GW Harajuku picking up my entries from their last competition and, as I had the rest of my completed chaos models in my carry cases, I took the opportunity to do some army shots on one of their tables. All the completed Psychopomp models to date: Should've taken a proper camera with me too, but since my son was asleep in his push chair I grabbed the opportunity. 1000 Sons
Such a great looking army. The models, and the colours especially for me just look amazing, pinks, blues, purples in pastel shades are so brilliant. Stormborn
Not a huge fan of Slaanesh armies (he/she is my least favourite of the 4), but have to admit really love what you have done, even considering changing my long on hiatus fast attack army from Nurgle to Slaanesh. Kierdale
Thanks for the comments and Likes. :) I'll be sure to use a proper camera next time.  Not a huge fan of Slaanesh armies (he/she is my least favourite of the 4), but have to admit really love what you have done, even considering changing my long on hiatus fast attack army from Nurgle to Slaanesh. I'm glad to have inspired you. Give it a go, with a trial unit at least, one thing I like about this army is that you cannot get bored doing the same colour again and again. And plenty of opportunity to push oneself and experiment. And if you do beat an opponent when using a pink army, the victory is that little bit sweeter. ;)   Looking great on the table top :tu: Just need some vehicles now ;)I'm working on it! I'm working on it!(While doing the 20 Slaangor and dark apostle) WarriorFish 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/14/#findComment-4190179 Share on other sites

Kierdale
I have really enjoyed looking through your photos. I love slaanesh marine armies. You are creating the project I have always thought about but never got around to doing. Thanks for motivating me and keep the photos flowing. If you do get it started yourself, be sure to point me toward the thread :) And thanks to you too, Thedarkprincesnun. Some progress: Tattoos are done on all 20 Slaangor and I've finished putting the dark brown base colour on their fur. This is taking a long time...I get about four done each lunch break! With the pink it was faster as I could slap it on without caring about other areas. Once the dark brown is on them all I'll be drybrushing a lighter brown and shading all the fur. ...then it'll be on to horns, leather, metallics, other pastels for their hair and beards...a lot still to do. Aaaaaand some progress on the dark apostle: Base is done and the purple basecoat on the daemonette The hacked-off statue faces on his backpack (it remaining only a backpack until a dream codex allows me to give dark apostles of Slaanesh Doom Sirens!) And the black half of his armour is done The other half? You'll have to wait and see. :) Pearson73, Sheesh Mode and WarriorFish 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/14/#findComment-4192625 Share on other sites
Kierdale
With the Slaangor I'm slogging through painting the 20 of them with various shades of brown here and there. Fur, leather, tusks, horns and the like. I'll be sure to limit myself to 10 at a time in future. The dark apostle is moving along faster: Hair will be pale green. That weird patch on his (human-side) forehead is where there are service studs. Once they're painted it shouldn't look like a bullet hole in his noggin Only a dark apostle of Slaanesh would have armour decorated with... Sakura (cherry blossom) Skulls, scrolls and a whole lot more still WIP. One question: I'm rather stumped on what colour to do his cloak. As he doesn't have the mark of Slaanesh on his shoulder as the rest of the chapter warband do, I'll be freehanding that on his cloak, but what colour to paint the actual cloak...? The scroll-bearing cherub will have pale blue skin (it's a Necromundan caryatid). Oh, and progress on the backpack: darkseren1ty, Aasfresser, WarriorFish and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/14/#findComment-4200211 Share on other sites
Evil Eye
Now THAT is how you do Slaaneshi CSM armour! WarriorFish
Really nice work, the petals in particular... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/14/#findComment-4200450 Share on other sites
Aasfresser
He is coming along nicely. The petals are splendid... You could paint the cloak as it would be composed of sewn together flayed skin pieces. Like Fabius Bile or Urien have them. darkseren1ty
absolutely amazing, i love the sakura and the daemonette posing on the ground (did you use the dark eldar slave girl body?) and how did you sculpt the scrolls on the armor btw? they look really professional. Teetengee
flayed skin would work, but so would the colour it is now, to be honest, anything too complex might clutter the model. Augustus b'Raass
Flayed skin would be the best bet indeed. It'd be distinct, but not too flashy as to clutter the model as Teets said. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/14/#findComment-4201125 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Firstly thank you everyone for the comments. Glad to see the blossom well received. Â And yes, I guess it's skin for the cloak then! Thanks for the suggestion. Â absolutely amazing, i love the sakura and the daemonette posing on the ground (did you use the dark eldar slave girl body?) and how did you sculpt the scrolls on the armor btw? they look really professional. The miniature is converted from the Space Marine Captain: Master of the Marches, a loyalist Astarte (a little heresy I hope to repeat with other minis) and the scrollwork is all part of that. I can't claim credit! With practice though you can do scrollwork yourself using GS. I've done a little before, making it on a flat surface, using a needle and other tools to add detail, then once it was hard applying it to the model. Never anything as small as on that model's shin though. Â And yes, the daemonette's body is the Dark Eldar slave. Her original head has a haircut akin to those of the Adeptus Sororitas and will soon see use... Kierdale
Slaangor progress remains slow but I've got the brown areas done on half of them and should have the other half finished up next week. Then there's just metallics, greens and a couple of bits of (loyalist) marine armour they're carrying. Likely I'll do at least some as Templars as they and the Psychopomps have a history. More apostle progress: Who's a pretty boy then? On his various scrolls he has `Slaanesh`, `Lust, Hate, Agony, Bliss` and `Slaanesh` again but this time in the Dark Tongue (under the big skull on his right pauldron). And his cloak of flesh. There are actually three colours, one of which is `Tau`, with the patches of skin sewn in as if camouflage. Tattooed before flaying, naturally. And the caryatid's scroll. More Dark Tongue runes. Kevlarshark
Some of those writings are from the necronomicon from the evil dead series I think?  Good stuff though very impressive flayed cloak, but I love the high contrast of your whole colour scheme its really very cool indeed.
