That already sounds good, I am looking forward to seeing what you do with him Forte style :-)

I bet :-

There will be one or two flaps of skin tophies stitched to something, a suitably gruesome visage, glowing eyes that piece the very soul......just before the fell beast devours in the name of the Dark Prince. I would like to see a Hellraiser style pin head, though I am sure you have your own much better ideas.

"Deep within his grand cruiser, Hellforger, the Lord Purgator stood within his own personal armoury. As one of the four Chosen of Abaddon, Urkrathos wanted for nothing. He gazed about the arsenal he had accumulated over the centuries. Maces, chainaxes, a finely crafted rapier, his eyes stopped at a wicked bastard sword with a leering daemon face looking back at him. He laughed mirthlessly as he ran his gauntleted hand down Blood Reaper, his double ended halberd. One of his favourites. His power armour hummed in unison with his thoughts as he looked upon each weapon in turn. Each told a story. Each mono-molecular edge. Each barbed hook. Each silent chain. His gaze returned to the middle of the room and the weapon in stasis that floated there. Gifted to him by the Warmaster himself to aid him in his task, it's own sentient gaze met his. It's whispers of coming blood shed, and the pain that went with it. As he gripped it his rage-cogitators, wired directly into his skull, tingled. "Soon, my pretty" Urkrathos thought out loud. The Axe of Blind Fury glowed as the words left his fanged maw. Soon indeed. War was coming to Kasr Halon...."

We are starting a campaign this Monday at out club, and my Daemon Prince was my intended HQ but alas we have to pick one with the independent Character rule, so I have been scuppered :sad.: this is in part due to the last campaign of when a Great Unclean One ended up with extra USR's, namely feel no pain, eternal warrior and it will not die!!!! Not to worry, and seeing as we are taking part in the Last Days of Kasr Halon during the 13th Black Crusade, I shall be playing as Urkrathos, Lord Purgator and one of the four Chosen of Abaddon - hence the above head. DA fans may notice spot of plagiarism in his introduction, but c'maaaan I am forging a narrative  Its early wip, but I needed it started by Monday :biggrin.: It is actually a head swap for my juggerlord (better HQ than a Khorne DP anyway, so pfah!)

Also, very rough eBay cheapies; and they are still early wip also, Urkrathos' entourage. Covered in mould lines, damage and all sorts of muck. Lots of GS needed and gaps to be filled but trust me, I can 'find beauty in negative places'. Hopefully, anyway :biggrin.: :-

@ Brother Vidius, thanks for the kind words, next update WILL be a finished Daemon Prince!!!

Edited by Midnight Runner

Can't wait to see Urkathos progress. Always loved that piece of artwork even though it is full of dirty heathen traitor dogs.

Nice unit of bikes. Ill tell you a little secret though. Bikes are a royal pain in the arse to paint, Emperor knows how Brother Captain Arkhan painted all his. They drive you nuts but this shouldn't be a problem for you as you lost all sanity when you sold your soul to the dark side!

Heh, heh, cheers you two - I know how bad the bikes are, I painted my FE attack bikes assembled - bad news!! Tbf they were very rough when I bought them but sooooo cheap. I have one more to build by Monday :)

I am leaning to using them as my Call of Chaos vow. Maybe.

WHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY...YYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!?

Making me want to build bikes now. Looking very nice indeed.

You should....... I end up adding Biker from seen Brother Heinrich Night Lords & lot of great Chaos armies during Throne of Skulls March event made me pick up a few boxies while I was that Warhammer World, one of the armies had some cool mid-air flying biker using the Wall of Martyrs for there base/display.

Midnight runner - As always some really great conversion work there.  I'm really interested to see how Urkrathos turn out, I still rememeber the art work of the Chosen in 3.5 codex, was always great art work.

Many thanks IP, glad you approve. A little bit more work I think is needed, but he is getting there (lobotomized a possessed to get this far!)

Anybody notice how Krannon the Relentless takes an awful lot of style queues from the Urkrathos' in the artwork? In fact many of the Chosen to like the powerfist marine/Devram Korda. My Khârn conversion was going to be Urkrathos based on Krannon but the juggerlord is close to being built so I went with him - I should post a picture of him in all his dark glory but won't get a chance until tomorrow. I will eventually get an Urkrathos/Khârn done as the Betrayer is my usual HQ.

"The Fell Reaver"

Formerly the Sons of Horus Reaver, Razeq Bane - Ascended as a Daemon Prince of Khorne, anointed of the Blood God, Lord of the Black Harbingers and all round bad egg:-

Quite happy how he(it!) turned out really as it is only my second mini painted this year :smile.: Base is not done yet obviously until I decide on a theme for the army, and I would like to do a bit of weathering too, tidy up the wings here/there and maybe apply PVA glue to the left hand to make the gore drip lightly and make it stand out some, but for now; DONE.

Yep he is definitely an "All round bad Egg"

Absolutely swa-eet job you have done there Brother (Traitor). If you look into his eyes it is actually quite scary.

Regarding the addition of dripping blood, have you done it before? I have always thought about it and want to add it to a chap I am working on now. My only concern is how durable it will be for gaming with. Have you any experience?

PS: I still reckon that one of my Raptor Scouts could put him on his angry little arse with one dig though :teehee:

Thanks for the comments dudes :biggrin.:

@ forte - you are totally right my friend, how about this:-

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh190/MidnightRunner81/DSC05462.jpg

Kind of hard to see properly due to it being night time now and with shoddy lighting (I don't have a daylight lightbulb any more, shame on me) Although now I see the iris is dodgy on the eye on his chest. Doh

@ The Yak - glad you like, even if it goes against everything you stand for  as for the blood effect, I have done it before it is a fine line between going to far and getting it to look just right. If the drips are to big it can look silly, and the height of his hand from the floor I think some small 'spike' drips will do, stringy bits of offal right down to his base will be a no, no. I use Tamiya Clear Red, and coating it with superglue strengthens it perfectly - I have a Death Company brother with a powerfist done in this way and I use him regularly.

@ DS - nasty is good, feel his rage,  RAAAAAAGE! :biggrin.:

@ daemonclaw - thanks man glad you like, I wish my GS skills were as good as yours but unfortunately that will never be the case. Glad you like the DP too :smile.:

Cheers for the comments again guys.

There is a yellow glaze to the edges of the white but camrea won't pick it up under my kitchen light. I also dropped him btw from above my head (I am 6'3!) and he didn't break :ohmy.:  So the pinning and greenstuff filled torso worked, the base chipped and the magnetized sword flew under the oven though, I blame Slaanesh for the accident ;)

Nice I always liked that old deamon prince miniature. Though, I think maybe the eyes should have been another colour, like a deep purple or black, simply to stand out more. None the less its a really awesome mini.

It really is one of my faves hence it isn't converted - so sinister, the apex of what a Champion of Chaos aims for, and so much better than the plastic kit (out of the box anyway). The aesthetic melds so well with the newer DV style too. Got to admit I prefer it without wings but function over form this time....

His head would look Good at the Feet of my Company Captain hmmm.

He eats Captain's for breakfast, Eternal Shield/Burning Blade Chapter Masters on the other hand are meals that fight back......nomnom :D

That's some great pinning there then

It has to be, I'm a clumsy git sometimes!!! I have noticed the tip of the sword has chipped slightly too

Damn, he's looking awesome bro

Cheers dude, glad you like!! I am surprised you didn't notice the yellow helm hanging on his torso ;)
