PensacolaWarhammer
I wanted to post and update on my Plague Marine White armor, but I wanted to get some oppions and ask questions. You can see my orginial post in the Work in Progress sub-forum. A quick re-cap is that after I paint my miniature white I seal it with a satin varnish. I then put a wash mixed with matt medium over that. My first test showed that I was on the right track, but it still didn't quiet work. Here are some of the washes that I plan to use. http://pensacolawarhammer.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/washes.jpg While my miniature was sitting in its stripping solution, I got out some of my washes and just did a test pallet of them with out mixing them. You can see the results above. I can see that Baby Poop, while is befitting the legions of Nurgle, will not be a wash I use as it is what keeps yellowing my white. The colors that have caught my attention are the Sewage Water, the Green Black, and the browns and flesh washes that are to the left. I can mix the Secret Weapons' Flesh Wash with the Vallejo Fleshtone to get a nice sepia. The Sewage Water is a good brown/green mixture, but it's the Green Black that has my attention. I believe that I can get a good sutdel green stain/shadow using it and do an oil wash of brown when the model is done. I certainly would like to hear what others think. Chaeron
It may sound excessive, but it's really hard to tell without seeing it actually on the model or a tester. Somethings just look better when they're applied, it's natural. For mine, I go heavy black was and heavy brown wash - and you can see how that looks in my sig. Appreciate if you're looking for more of an eggshell colour it'll change that additionally - but probably best to experiment with maybe six generic models just to get the right tone and work from there. Best in the long run! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288739-death-gurad-plague-marine-white-color-scheme-test/#findComment-3636623 Share on other sites
