Soooo I am having problems picking colors out for my 1k sons should I go classic blue and yellow or go pre-heresy red

 

But then my khorne guys would be red should I go white with them and blood for the blood god red paint all over them and go that route or red red red for them for classic khorne

You don't *have* to do anything. If you want a force that looks uniform but still distinct, my advice would be fo work in hues. Why not start from dark purple and for the TS work up to dark blue and for the KBs up to dark red?

 

In any case i would strongly advice against going white for the KBs in 40k. Especially when you splatter them with bftbg after. Bftbg works best in extreme moderation, in my experience. Now that i think about it, the WEs blue could work as a unifying spot colour for your forces. You could use red on the TS with the same blue pads and pauldrons for example to unify them with your blue-white TS.

OK guys, no amount of cute kittens will sway me from the task at hand. When the doors close this is it. I'm sorry Clone but I already have refused others that came in after the deadline and as such I'm committed to keeping this a level playing field for all.

 

HOWEVER

 

The ETL is all about offering motivation to the frater and I'm not about to deny anybody that. As such let me recommend the following:

 

You may enter your vow as an "out-of-competition" entry. That means that you will be more than welcome to play along, post your progress and your completed vows in the ETL threads, use the ETL deadlines and be awarded the Custos Fidei if you complete all your vows by August 1st (or the Primus Inter Pares if Chaos wins). The only catch is, your points will not be counted towards the total of the Chaos faction...

 

I have added your vow as an out-of-competition entry in the first page already and I will record your progress as you post it - and I'm sure your corrupted brothers can make a suitable mark for you to wear to commemorate your late arrival! :)

OK Colt, you might not have realized this but there's been some PMing and we've been pondering on your late vow the moment you made it.

Considering the following:

Your vow;

your cute kitten pweazing Dominus Semper;

my Oath of Corruption post; and

Forte´s fantastic powerz of banner-making

It has been decided you can join the ETL without your points being counted.

As such, you (and you alone) are granted the right to bear this, the fifth Oath of Corruption banner

I totally forgot to mention: the banner is forte's work. There where multiple versions but this one suited the solution Semper thought of the best. Lolz

Another solid week for us - I like this muchly.

 

I'm also tentatively planning my third vow - again, looking for big points where possible, I've got I think 20 Cataphractii and perhaps another ten or so Nurgle Terminators to paint, with five Death Shroud, Grave Wardens and Typhon. Trying to maximise this, best to split into groups of three each time? Only problem is the odd heavy weapon, which may force my hand somewhat to making lots of five-person squads.

 

I can also vow Kranon, his Chosen, and probably a whole host of other special characters to boost us. We've got ages which is great - but want to obviously maximise our earning potential...

Encouragement, threat, really what's the difference? They both get stuff done and at least for Slaanesh, they are almost always the same thing msn-wink.gif.

Ahaha! I disappear for a week and khornate kitties start rampaging through the thread - love it! : D

 

So here's a little update on my progress. I really wasn't liking my noise marine unit, so I made the decision to strip the paint off & sell them on. Then, I decided to stop beating around the bush & picked up two sets of FW kakophoni. An expensive decision, but one that will be worth it in the long run!

 

While I'm waiting for them to turn up, I'm going to get cracking on my raptors & khorne lord. Here they are in all their under coated glory B)
