I really doubt I'll make it this time either.. for the first time. I actually got paid to do a model air plane, so it got priority there mid-game. Add in car repairs for both summer holiday weekends and I just lost all kinds of time. I'm still working on it, but unless the pace picks up in a major way for the last batch, I won't be able to make it.

 

Plus I just kind of shrugged when 7th edition came out. It didn't inspire me.

 

 

If it's a lack of motivation from seventh, don't let that get to you. I have found success and life in the game nowadays, especially with the inclusion of tactical objectives.

@ 200plus: Real life take precedence and sometimes we're rudely reminded of that. You have a big task in front of you 200plus - this is the challenge you don't want to be found wanting. Good luck to you both and hopefully you'll be announcing a full recovery soon. The ETL will be here again next year to take your revenge!

 

@ zyl- : there is a first time for everything - even for failing the ETL. However let me repeat the ETL motto: It's not over until it's over! So with that in mind take a look around you, then glare at the calendar and make your decision! :D

 

@ everybody else: The weekly update is tomorrow. Will we have any more completions before that? Just as a kind reminder the amount of completions this week are zero.

Hey, last week was like finally taking Cadia - we weren't expecting it, now we have to catch our breath and get our bearings for the push to Terra.

 

Also had to help a friend after a crap day yesterday, and today I have a 12 hour shift in which I will not be able to paint. Pretty annoyed actually, but them's the breaks.

My Vow 4 is done but haven't taken pictures yet. Will get them up as soon as I get back from work in a few hours. I anticipate that my BSoK for Vow 5 should be done by end of this week too.

@Bungicat: it's too late to be counted in competition, but you can do an out of competition vow for support and banners!! Semper can tell you better than I.

 

Also, I am still working on my vow folks, trim is done and I am working through weapons now. Once that is done, just the flesh and bone and a badab bath remain.

All Cataphractii, the Grave Wardens and Deathshroud have now been weathered and chipped. I've done all of the metal on the Deathshroud, as well as the green on both them and the Wardens. Started the red on the Wardens too.

 

Can't wait to see em. I love HH Death Guard.

YES! At least one big vow this week. Well done Kilofix.

I am also jealous of your Scorpion. That is such an awesome model.

One nitpick on the first paint job you've done on him. I totally get what you are going for, but the spots seem a little too 'hard'. It seems like you've either put the PSI quite high on your compressor, you got very close with the airbrush itself, or your paint is not quite thinned enough). All give harder edged effects. Now unless that's what you're going for (and I'm guessing you're not and your aim is the FW example) might I suggest a lower PSO, a little farther away with the airbrush and/or more thinner in your paints?? This gives a smoother effect on the edges of the 'spots'. Just me trying to help mate - it's your model (and glazes and washes in a later stage can also smooth out the effects, maybe that was your plan) biggrin.png thumbsup.gif

Kids wanting beach time has cut into my paint time, but I have the Spawn all completed, the Dark Apostle 80% and the Blight Drone is getting assembled.  I will not finish in time for weekly update but should finish in time for a last minute 4th vow.

@Augustus - Yeah, I had planned on washing and glazing so the spots had to be alittle "harder" initially.

Here's what it looks like with dry brush cabling, silver trim, wash, glaze, and hardcoat. Still need a couple more things before its done.

Here's what it looks like with dry brush cabling, silver trim, wash, glaze, and hardcoat. Still need a couple more things before its done.
