Fire Golem, you shames me! But na seriously Iron Warriors are suck as feck. Well played son.

Slipstreams.. i hate you regarding your recent purchases, it makes me a sad Frostmourne.

Zedmeister....that White Scar... wowsers...You should definitely get more of them painted up, like now.

Also, speaking of updates, i am expecting my FW to be delivered early next week, according to FW. And i have Wednesday off, BUT...I need 600 points built and painted by Thursday evening for a Campaign night. Yikes. Im going to be having a late one!

Sad? I thought you always hungered? But don't worry, thats pretty much all I'll be spending for a LOOOOOONG time to come...until I impulse buy something *hopes for More Imperial Fists goodies while not*

I gave up Hungering when the Blonde guy died ;)

Haha you can hardly talk Frostmourne msn-wink.gif

And shush you

Actually need to change my pledge then:

I pledge 10 Iron Warrior tactical legionnaires, and 5 Sons of Horus tactical legionnaires. I know you said 1 legion but it's just to get me locked down into the legions I'm doing and after that it'll be one at a time :)

Yeah like I said in the pm, if the SoH are like throwing the IW at walls and such, I think it makes sense for the IW to be the bigger detachment with more bodies, and the SoH as a smaller elite detachment over watching the IW.

Hey guys figured I would post a few wip. I'm working on a few world eater vets/ despoilers. Right now they just have a few coats of greys and wash. Hopefully have some more pics tonight

Fire Golem, from my experience with jumping around legions, it's not good for motivation or for your sanity. Honestly I have had days where all I can think about is what to paint and not having an answer, when I should have just sat down and worked on something. By all means, have a multi legion force, but initially start on one. Try to get to a thousand points or whatever your comfortable with, then look at an allied detachment.

Deleted my long winded response since Demon hit the nail on the head :P

But, yeah. Start focused and stay that way. Jumping around too frequently, for whatever reason, is another good way of burning yourself out since you'll feel like you don't have any stability to latch onto. Start with a force you know you'll use the most. Not that you like the fluff of or playstyle, etc. But that you'll use the most. The centerpiece of your multi-legion force since they're likely to get...well...used the most. After that start branching out.

Don't just scatter everywhere and try to do everything all at the same time. Take your time, be focused and who knows,  you might have a  pretty drastic change of heart / direction when you get far enough along any one project. Would be a shame if you suddenly didn't "feel" the Alpha Legion anymore for X/Y/Z reasons but you now have a 500 point force painted up that'll probably sit on a shelf till you rekindle that spark.

In the end, I still made a rather long winded response :P

I know that but... It's difficult :( especially as I don't know which legion I want as the main part. Either SoH or IW, the AL will probably be a small elite detachment anyway so yeah I'll save them til later. Thanks guys. I think I just need to be told that sometimes haha.
Ok, maybe take this into consideration, the Alpha Legion and Iron Warriors have little in the way of their own FW kits, and I expect they will probably get them from October onwards (we will more then likely see stuff at Games Day, or whatever it's called now, and they will be released from then onwards), so why not wait to see what FW do with them. You might not like the specialist stuff, the dedicated units, or upgrade kits. Now this might not be a reason not to collect those armies, when I was briefly with the World Eaters, I avoided a lot of their stuff, and you are within your rights to make any legion look any way you want. However, it may be the case that the stuff they bring out really turns you off that faction to the point you don't want to go near them, and the stuff you have been working on then gets left and never touched again. Basically, what I am saying is, maybe stick to the SoH, and see what FW do with other 2 legions, I am sure it will be awesome, but it might influence you against painting them. Of course, do some test models for both the IW and AL to see if you like painting them, just maybe not make them your focus.

Okay that's a good point too... I'll consider that. Although IW wise, I don't know what they can do wrong with Cataphractii with shoulder missile launchers ;) but you do put forward good points...

Ugh why can't I just like one legion -.-

I can't imagine they will mess up either legion, although I do fear theAlpha Legion will be a mess of serpent scale and hydra insignia. The chained Alpha on top an Omega is so much cooler.

It's hard to pick one legion as they are all being written so well. The thing is to find the one that captivates you the most. I like the Raven Guard, Night Lords, Alpha Legion, Imperial Fists, Iron Warriors, and the Iron Hands. I have tried to work on them all (except the IF strangely), I am hoping I stick with the Iron Hands, they fit my mentality before I became 'ill'; I used to be tenacious, stubborn, always quick to anger, but a burning anger I could pool into something productive. Also I like to create things, and pull other things apart to see how they work and improve them (plus I would love to be be a blacksmith, in fact if my Army career hadn't been cut short I would have pushed my trade down that route). At the same time I am looking at the other legions I like and trying to let them influence my plans for the Iron Hands. So I will have a recon Order (Raven Guard), I will try show their brutal side of close range firefights and devastating close combat assaults (Iron Warriors), I will also keep a Roman Legion look (Imperial Fists). I will also do an Alpha Legion kill team/small force.

I know I am not one to talk, in the last few months alone I have switched Legions countless times, and in doing so have wasted money, time, and soured some of the enjoyment of the hobby. I would like to stop you doing he same.

One last thing, I don't see the Iron Warriors as a 'thrown against the walls' type army. The are calculated, they know what firepower needs to be directed where, how many are soldiers needed to overrun the defences etc. Yes when they get up case they are very brutal, but before that point they have worked out every detail to anticipate victory.
